I want more pictures! Who knew we went to school with all these beautiful people. And the babies! So cute! Send more bios, I can't get enough.

Wow, Eric-- this looks like a great website!

I live in Kentucky but I visit Springboro once or twice each summer. I am always amazed at how much it has grown. Wow! Each summer I always think about how neat it would be to move back to my hometown.

I look forward to re-connecting with everyone through this site!

Laura,
Oh, I totally agree. I can't get enough of the bios and pictures. I check the website regularly and LOVE "seeing" everyone. You and Ron look great...haven't changed a bit...I am jealous!!! Your kids are gorgeous. Those were such fun pics. Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.
Awesome website, Eric. I am glad there are those of you that are able to do such fab things!!! Love it, love it!! Julie Bush

This is great. I love the pictures. Everyone needs to keep adding them. It's funny you think I don't remember that person and then you see their picture and "bingo" now I do. I really can't believe it's been 20 years. The time has flown by. My parents still live in Springboro and I'm probably there once a month. But what shocks me the most was this past fall my youngest played 6th grade football. We had a game against Springboro at the "New" high school. OMG!! It looked like a college campus. Over across the stadium field you could see the old high school, "our" high school. It looked so small and lonely - I think it's the Jr High now.

This site is just AMAZING. It has been so great reading and seeing all of you again and I cannot wait until the reunion! I'm up in the Boro frequently, believe it or not, we've been going to LaCommedia Dinner Theatre! Rick didn't quite understand the fascination with the K&W or why we had to wait about 30 minutes in line. Peggy is still working at IGA (where I spent many, many hours of my life working) as is Homer Jr. and Doug. Everyone still remembers and asks about me. So, the village might be a city, and it may have changed and grown, but for me...it is and always will be "home." See you all soon, Love Jeff

Where I lived, at the bottom of Red Lion 5 Points Rd where it hairpins toward SR 741, we never had water. Too much clay for wells and we were zoned to Franklin, a city that had no interest in extending water lines all the way out into the cornfields south of its sworn enemy, the Little Village That Would: Sprinkleberry. We had to have a truck come from Middletown to fill the cistern every month. Occasionally, you'd be taking a shower and the damn thing would empty and you'd be standing there, soaked, with a mountain of swirly foam on your head and no way to rinse it! Sheesh.

So currently my Mother's brother Fred owns our old house down the lane. Naturally, there are now two gigantic shimmering water towers within cow-tipping range from his front yard. Water practically gushes from the earth in all directions like some upside down Niagara on Viagra. Each home in the area has its own built-in waterpark complete with a Spray-Yourself-For-No-Good-Reason-Other-Than-You-Can Facility. It's an ordinance that homeowners must leave all taps open full blast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or be forced to move to Moraine. Even residents of Franklin can come wash their cars and RVs for free any day of the week, right at the base of one of the Majestic Resevoirs of Endless Hydration at old Flat Iron, south of the Fortress of Secondary Education & Primary Socialization: Springboro, Ohio.

Of course, I'm not bitter about these developments at all. But I will say this: I shave my head for a reason (and it ain't to look pretty).

I was in out of 5 different schools before I moved to Springboro in December of 1983. Reading your forum makes me happy to have called Springboro "home." I can't wait to connect with most of you again. Reading the dialogue is nostalgic and kind of weird. I actually feel like a kid again. Hey .. anyone want to go egg cop cars on Lytle Five Points. Oh, that's right, Settler's Walk is in that field now. BORO has changed. Eric, great website, man!

I want to say what a great time I had at the reunion. It was good to see everyone and to hear about your families and to look at pictures. I hope everyone keeps in touch and checks in at this website for updates! I know Eric will post the photos soon from the reunion. Thanks for a great weekend! ~Angie

I agree with Angie. We had a great time. Great job to Angie, Eric and Heather and anyone else who organized the event.

Thanks again to Angie and Eric for all their hardwork on the reunion. It was a spectacular time! Also, thanks to all the spouses and significant others for being such good sports being dragged to an event where you where you didn't know anyone.

I'm so sorry to have missed the reunion! I had every intention of being there but had to change my flight to OH and didn't get to Springboro in time. I think we should keep in touch and maybe have a standing day near Christmas (where most of us might be back in town), where we could all go out one night and catch up. Any ideas?

09/01/08 12:18 PM #24

Angela Hatmaker (Wells)

I think that is a great idea Larissa! Everyone visits family around Christmas! We could just go to a nice restaurant and hold a banquet room for all of us. Lets see what kind of response we have! Missed you at the reunion! We were all looking forward to see you. What does everyone think about trying to do an get together in Christmas?

Laura Wilt (Franz)

You are truly special people to have organized such a wonderful event! Ron and I had a wonderful time catchin' up with everyone and would be open to a reunion in December. Thanks again, love to y'all!

John Lamb

Thanks to Eric, Angie and Heather we had a great time
and appreciate your hard work. I would love to get together around Christmas and see everyone. I will take
the task of planning the 25th but I will expect a team of helpers to get the job done properly again. I would really like to try to find the missing classmates. We also can hopefully encourage those not attending to make it next time. I think if we can really get the word out about this website all these tasks will become easier. Even those who live out of state can play a huge role in making contacts and doing the things that will help make for a great turn out. So if you know any classmate who have not registered please contact them and push for them to do so. If they say they don't want to see us tell them we would still like to see them. To quote Jeff Turner in PeeWee football 1982 to his coach "If you don't want to see me then you need to close your eyes"....they can just keep their eyes closed during the reunion.

Shannon Grooms (Wilmot)

Thanks to everyone who set up the reunion, and thanks to everyone who showed up. It's so much fun to see everyone. No matter how old I get, I always feel young when I'm with you all. I loved most just listening to everyone talk to others and find out how much we all touched each others lives.
I'm up for a Christmas time get together. The bar scene seems to work pretty well for most of us:) I'll keep checking the website.

Laura Wilt (Franz)

OK, I promise this is the last time I am checking this website today. I'm gonna admit that there is probably something seriously wrong with me! I should be upstairs watchin' the UT opener...but I've looked at this site six times today. I have a sneakin' suspicion my hubby has done the same thing. I've caught him in his office a couple times anyway! Sorry we missed Friday night...pics were great, couple people I'd really like to caught up with. Eric, that little girl, that little nose, need I say more. Karen, that's easy...I love you MAN! Jeff, I could write a book, I will talk to soon! Donna, we sure had a lot in common, did you find that website? I'll email ya. Julie, you're as sweet as ever...food for thought, I let my kids jump on their beds! tee hee. Kelly, you look great, for some reason everytime I hear "the cradle will rock" I think of your record player. Shannon, forgot to tell you I loved the pics I love Josh's deep sexy voice too! Sally, truly pleased with your happiness, let us know your big day. Laura, I didn't get enough time with you, I wanted more. Dan, same with you, your wife is lovely. John R. I love ya. glad we got to catch up with the Mrs., she's a hoot. Todd, we'll see ya on the slopes in Feb. John H. good luck with school and that search...think you should move south. Claudine, I forgot to tell you I loved the pictures of those two cute kids. Gina, you still rock! Alicia, tell him we're ready to wakeboard when he is! Steve, you've gotta bring her over, it's only a hop, skip and a jump. Brad, I enjoyed getting to know you and Tammy. Matt Borders, your son looks identical to your cuteness. Matt Bombick, I was so thrilled to meet your wife and hear of your success in Toledo. I could have stayed until 2:00 and not got around to catchin' up with everyone. Very sorry we had to leave...but due to family illness, we spent the rest of our visit at Bethesda North. Please pray for Ronny's mom as we will keep all of you in ours. Y'all are such spectacular people to know. Gotta go! Gotta check the Vols score! Good Ole Rocky Top!

I'm sorry that I missed the dinner on Saturday night. I had a great time catching up and meeting some really fun spouses on Friday night. I must say that overall our class looks pretty hot, especially for people coming up on 40!

I would love to do this again around Christmas. Lets try to find something a little closer to Springboro so I can go home to check on the baby. I volunteer to help plan this "reunion." I'll start looking for party rooms to rent. I think Byers Inn would be a great place for memories if they still have the room upstairs for rent. I'll start doing research.

John Lamb, I volunteer to be your helper to plan the 25th reunion. You take charge and I'll follow your lead!

I went to classmates.com and left messages for the following "unknown location" classmates:
Leslie Griffeth
Gina Hillenbrand
Scott Keaton
Josephine Li
Amy Spotts
Kevin Tompkins
Jeff Turner

I'll keep searching for the others on the list. I tried MySpace but didn't find anyone else.

Plan on searching for a venue for our Christmas event soon...

Sorry I didn't make it to the reunion. Had a lot of 'car troubles' (it died on me). I had other problems, i just don't wish to discuss openly.

I wish i could make it up in December, but i don't know if I'll be freed up in time for that. I'll be gone to Mexico for the first part of the month doing missionary work in Northern Mexico. I am really excited about this! I'll have to post pictures from my trip when I get back.

I am in for the Christmas experience. Keep me posted.
I loved seeing everyone and hope to keep in touch with you all.

Count Jerry and I IN for the Christmas get together and way to go for coming up with that idea!! Laura, you are too funny! I could never beat your message that you posted! I loved reading that and am so glad to hear your kids jump on your bed, however, my don't because I don't want them to pop the threads. I learned that a long time ago from a sweet friend of mine. hee hee!! I came across a pic. of you and I holding your birthday cake that your mom had made. We looked too cute. If I knew how to scan, I'd send it to you! I also remember your money jars that you kept on a little desk near your back door. I forget what you were saving for but it must have been neat...left an impression on me!!
Ok....keep the notes coming! We had a great time at the reunion...wish they were every year!
Julie

Hello to all! I saw John Lamb at the soccer field and he told me about this fabulous website. Thanks so much Eric! Sorry that I missed the reunion! I too would be interested in a Christmas get together. I just finished reading the messages that classmates have posted-many of you mentioned the changes to the town and the school. Oh yes, if you haven't been "home" in the past few years you will hardly recognize the place or the people. :) Some of us "original Springboro-ites" are still here but I don't run into too many. Our kids can't believe that we graduated from their junior high school and that we didn't have 350 plus in our graduating class. :)Alice

Lordy Julie, I have that same picture! It was a pickle jar...and I hate to say it but I still have one with a two dollar bill in it, in a drawer in the spare bedroom. Somethin' still wrong with me. I don't know what I was saving for!?! I've tried to teach my boys a little better. Dean and I went and opened his own savings account when he turned twelve. He says he's saving for a car. He likes the old red Firebird his dad used to have.
Danny, very interested in where in Mexico you'll be doing your missionary work. Whole family going?...we'll keep you in our prayers!

Laura, I'll be going to Nuevo Laredo. It's a small town just across the border from Laredo Texas. I'll be going by myself. Well, not really by myself, but with another missionary from another city nearby. My wife went to the same place back in July. Now it's my turn. I'll be gone for about two weeks. I really can't wait! The closer it gets to December the more excited I get! I appreciate all the prayers I can get, thanks.

I would love to contact Shelley Sexton. I know she is a member of classmates.com but you have to pay a membership in order to talk to people there. She has tried to contact me from the classmates.com website, but I can't talk back to her because I'm not a member. If anyone is a member of this site....would you be willing to try to make contact with her and let her know about this website of Eric's??? Thanks so much!!!
