Vinnie taught music theory for a number of years at "The University of Michigan," retired in 1996, and now lives in Grand Blanc, Michigan. I, like many others, had lost track of him, but he was kind enough to write to me when he read an article in The Economist that quoted me. Small world . . . .

Doubt that many of you remember me from high school, I was rather shy and quiet. Never came out of my shell till college. Nonetheless , I am living in Florida now as I see many of you are as well. It has been nice reading many of your posts. Happy New Year to all. Thalia( Lambert) Cokkinias

“make me glad for every scalding tear”     Mary Baker Eddy (my cousin)

make me glad for every scalding tear

today and tomorrow

for

without great joy and appreciation for what is lost or gained

there would be no need of them

were it not for the  spirit in every sentient being

there would be no need of them

with every scalding tear there is a story

layering

down a connection

another interaction

sweeping away the past

creating a present

altering the future

without isolation

in isolation

within the sentient being contained

by birth

chained to  mortality

ordained by the joining of one egg

my egg

one sperm

my sperm

no one else contains me

yet able to lose oneself in another

to become one

becoming one leads to struggle

triumph

joy

fear

ecstasy

losing ones self

in scalding tears

eternally

Richard Perry (Perry)

I think a 50th reunion is a great idea -- and for us -- unique and totally uncharacteristically on time!!  That alone will make us different again.  Happy to help in any way I can.

50 is our Golden Anniversary.  can't miss that one.  we were the middle of the peace and love generation, so we should have awards for those that kept at it!

Teresina (Terri) Romano (Wickham)

the planning.
