Randell actually spelled his name Randell Corey. I once told him I could never remember how to spell his first name, and he told me to think of Randell in the dell. Randell was my best friend throughout high school and well beyond. I visited him once when he moved to Dallas, and once while he lived in New Orleans, and then we lost touch. He lived an uninhibited life to the end, in the late 1990's. Once, just for fun, we were recording our speaking voices in casual conversation, and when we listened to it, I said, "Wow, I didn't realize I sound so feminine." He said, "I didn't realize I do too." I miss him.
