St. Mary High School Past Students I am back to once again register publicly, the school's thanks to two of our past students, Mr. Paul Wilson and Ms. Cassandra McKoy for their generosity. This time Mr. Wilson has donated a Total Gym to St. Mary High in addition to a Screen Printing Machine. Ms.McKoy donated six parachutes, five stop watches, six speed resistor belts and individual tokens for each of our coaches.

The fact that you have thought about us enough to share your resources with us makes us feel special but what makes your generosity even more meaningful is the fact that you have given us these gifts at Christmas. We are indeed grateful and will ensure that others benefit from your generosity..

To you and your loved ones as well as Past Students and their families ,we extend love and appreciation during the Yuletide season. We also extend our gratitude again to the United Friends of Highgate . May your Christmas be merry and bright . May God grant you health and strength to continue to make a difference to mankind.

Blessings to you all.

The Board of Management ,Principal , Staff and Students of St. Mary High School use this opportunity to express  sincere thanks to the Florida Chapter of the St. Mary High School Past Students' Association. We have been motivated beyond words by your generous donations to our athletes over the years in your selfless effort to improve their performance. The fact that we knew you were in the wings encouraging and applauding us, boosted our collective self-esteem considerably. We dedicate our Eastern Champs win to you, humbly requesting that you remain with us through victory and defeat. Knowing that you will be there however will spur us to higher standards of achievement thus we expect to fight hard for victory . Thank you and your friends as well as your family members for sacrifices made.

Mrs.  Jean Ramdon Grant , Mr. Paul Wilson, Mrs. Kamone Lee, Ms. Casandra McKoy are also Past Students who have made a difference. We are grateful. We have not yet exhausted our list of persons who have made it possible but as I become absolutely certain of the names I will highlight you for making a difference to our Track & Field Programme . Mrs.Dian Black from Richmond, St. Mary, you have stood by us -always. We really do appreciate it.

Please note that I am not sure to which group these persons are attached but if I had the names of everyone I would mention all in the groups individually. I am that thankful to God for blessing you all with generous spirits.

I will update this list as Ms. Bailey makes the names available.

Thank you all !

We at St. Mary High School are happy that many of our students will begin the new academic year  2017/2018 much more confident than they ended the last academic year. This is due largely to the untiring effort of Class of  '92 and its energetic leader, Ms. Cassandra Mc Koy.

We are grateful to you all for the resources that you have provided for the various Departments . Our Physical Education and Math Departments have been recipients of equipment  and gear that will no doubt enhance the ability of the students to perform well. Indeed we have received so many items that it would take quite a while to list them all.

We know you must have planned and collected items over a long period thus we applaud you even more. We commit to ensuring  that the best use be made of each item thus maximizing its benefit to the students.

We wish for you and your families  love, success  and good health as you continue in your quest to make life a bit easier for our students than it was for you.  Simultaneously we commend you for planning an Award Function to honour those who have served you. It is a selfless gesture that we know will be greatly appreciated.

We pray for God's guidance as you continue your labour of love.

God bless you all.

The theme song for the night  titled ,"We are a Big Deal" would underscore the elegance of the 25th Anniversay celebration of St. Mary High School's "Class of 1992." What a celebration it was! Mrs. Venice Vanriel , Master of Ceremonies for the function was a  superb but gracious emcee, distinguishing Class of 1992 as a "big deal." I dare say I concur. I share the view that Class of 1992 is indeed a big deal. I feel very proud of the fact that St. Mary High School has produced such fine ladies and gentlemen who are contributing in a positive way to your Alma mater and the societies in which you live.

I wish to commend you for all that you achieved during the short period in which you celebrated your 25th Reunion. Having been invited to your Award Dinner, I thought it was a great gesture for you to be honouring some of your past teachers  by awarding them, therefore I was happy to be invited to share in the occasion. You can well imagine my surprise therefore when it was announced that you would be giving one hundred thousand dollars in scholarships to our students! Two barrels of materials and resources, awards for your past teachers and  scholarships to needy students almost rendered me speechless. You are a big deal!!! Cassandra ,Venice, Kamone, Jason,Dr. Henry-Silvera and all you wonderful past students of Class of 1992 ,I applaud you! Your guest speaker was well chosen ; her speech was interesting and relevant as she articulated the ingredients for success. To those from the batch who were awarded for being instrumental in making the Reunion a success,I too add my thanks on behalf of St. Mary High School. Venice already told you that you are a big deal and you are!

Thank you Class of 1992. Following on the heels of  the reunions of  Class of 1996 and South Florida Chapter, forgive me when I say that I have an excited feeling that St. Mary High is looking at a great future. Past students near and far, it is no longer a spark of past students; It is steadily becoming a bonfire.

God bless you and your families as well as all our past students who strive to make a difference. We invite everyone on board as there is room for all.Let's keep the fire burning.

"We cannot Lord thy purpose see but all is well that's done by thee"

St. Mary High School joins with Friends of St. Mary High in expressing profound condolences to Allan Croney ,his family and friends who mourn the loss of Roxana Croney,Allan's sister. We know that it is virtually impossible for you not to grieve at this time and we know that there is nothing and no one to replace your loved one. We however want you to know that your extended families of St. Mary High School and Friends of St. Mary High School grieve with you and stand with you at this dark juncture in your life.

The things we do in life tend to be returned to us at some point and this we say of you Allan Croney, you have stood by St. Mary High School and have staunchly supported us in a consistent way. You have cheered us on in tangible and intangible ways when we really needed external support. "That's what friends are for."

Dear friend, we extend our hands and open our hearts to you and family across the miles as we encourage you to find peace in faith.Blessed are you who mourn for you shall be comforted. We encourage those in the St. Mary High School family to represent us with your physical presence if it is possible to do so.

We further console you with this positive thought which we hope will sustain you along life's journey:

When someone you love becomes a memory

            The memory becomes a treasure

May you and your loved ones continue to treasure precious memories of Roxana.

God be with you and your loved ones. May Roxana's soul rest in peace. All is well that's done by Him.

Timothy Reynolds

Hello everyone in the SMHS community.

I have very happy memories of teaching Maths and Chemistry at SMHS from 1968 to 1970. I have recently met by chance a past student who overlapped with me in his time at SMHS, though I don't remember whether he was in any of my classes.

His name is Cyril Scarlet and he was at SMHS for two years, 1967-69, before emigrating to the UK. Does anyone remember him or his sisters? I occasionally preach at Leagrave Baptist church in Luton, Beds, UK and met Cyril at the church.

Hello Mr Reynolds, thanks for taking the time to stop by and say hello. Thanks for the time you spent at St Mary High and I know your students then were and still are grateful to you for the knowledge you imparted on them. Please email me at rosemarieboothe@yahoo.com your contact info so I can pass it on to any of your students who may need to get in touch with you. Thanks and have a great day.

Here is a group photo taken in the school grounds in 1969.  Does anyone recognise any faces here? I think Cyril Scarlet is in the picture (I think he's the shortest of the three boys, almost in the middle of the photograph. Also Donna Malcolm and Pauline Johnson - are they third and second from the left respectively? Later - someone says that Verna Wilson is far left, front row. Is that right?

And here's another. I think this is the sixth form. I have these names (L to R):

Front (on her own): Pauline Edwards
2nd Row: Marie Schaffer, Mevonnie Palmer, Marjorie (or Valerie?) Anderson
3rd Row: Claudia Taylor, Unknown, Wintlett Taylor
Back: Chinloy, Unknown, Silbert Shaw, Delroy Morgan, Norman Edwards, Godfrey Gregory, Lennox Campbell

Can anyone name the two unknowns? (Sorry - can't see how to rotate it.)

It is the start of a new academic year and it promises to be a good one at St.Mary High School. I use this opportunity to greet all past students near and far and thank you for promoting your Alma mater through postings and/or by contributing resources to our students to aid their development.

Once again Class of 1992 has shown that they intend to continue to be 'a big deal ' in our school by delivering the promised one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) to the school as part of the school's scholarship fund. We are beyond grateful. The benefits to our students are incalculable. Not only will they benefit but Jamaica will also benefit as they succeed and contribute  to its growth and development.

Class of 1992 we wish you all the best in your various spheres of life and salute you for your unstinting generosity .

God bless you all.

The cheers and screams have subsided and all that remains is the deep satisfaction felt from mission accomplished...Eastern Champs,2018.

Dear Past Students:

It is with much pride and joy that I convey to you the immense gratitude, that the Chairman ,Principal, Staff and Students of St. Mary High School  feel at this time. At the start of the school year 2017/2018, St. Mary High School set out on a mission which we have dubbed ,"I win, you win ,we all win; one team, one dream".Team Faith and Courage. This mantra, we happily adopted from a powerful presentation done at our Senior Management Retreat by Head of the Athletics Coaching Staff at St. Mary High School, Mr. Dwayne Williams. Indeed it is a timeless and universal mantra that can only empower those who execute its implicit mandate.  Past Students, through your tireless effort to ensure that our academic ,nutritional and co-curricular needs are met ,the team executed the dream. Thank you.

Yes, we recognize that you are an integral part of our team in our quest to succeed. We are inspired by your generosity and this provides us with the impetus we need to succeed. We are winners of Eastern Champs once again and we owe it all  to you. I must emphasize at this point that our Past Students represented by year groups or through individual effort have been phenomenal in their support and have chosen different areas of school life to enhance. We thank all of you! The following persons and groups gave significant support to our athletes this year and so we highlight them in this message:

Rosemarie Boothe, Sherryl Boothe-Delisser and Friends of St. Mary High School

Dr. Morais Guy

Laffern Riley

Jean Martin-Raynor

Cassandra McKoy and Class of 1992

Colonel Lenworth Marshall

Paul Wilson

Titania Markland

Orthurine Williams and St. Mary High School's P.T.A.

If I have omitted anyone ,please forgive me. We are grateful to all who played a part and those who waited anxiously for results, Ian Forrest being one of them. We are grateful to Dian Black who continues to give tirelessly to St, Mary High and accopany us wherever and whenever we need her . Class of 1989 cheered our students along at the stadium as well as other Past Students.

Please continue to provide moral support because that too is greatly appreciated. Each time you declare yourself a proud St. Mary High Past Student,  it fuels our desire to continue to make you proud, because all of you have made us who we are today.

We invite all past students, all over the world to tell us how you want to be featured in our grand celebration of sixty years of existence in 2020. That will be our grand Home Coming so please prepare to come back home to St. Mary High in 2020.

God bless you and your families as we continue to partner for greater success. Faith and Courage

Dear Past Students:

I choose to caption my message to you as "The Celebration".

What are we celebrating? We are celebrating success in various aspects of St. Mary High School's life such as its academic and co-curricular involvement. The most important success that the school is celebrating however is the phenomenal growth and development of the St. Mary High School's "Alumni Spirit". This academic year I became happily overwhelmed by the spirit of generosity of our past students. As soon as I thought, "Well this cannot get any better";it did. The donations just kept coming! I am therfore late in expressing our thanks publicly and for this I crave your forgiveness.

One of the highlights of our continued engagement with our past students was the visit of Class of "97 led by Donna Hunter. A representative group comprising the following past students from Class of  '97 were present:

Donna Hunter

Paul Hemmings

Kenroy Vassell

Janet Franklyn

Annette Morris

Melicia Black

Tracey Panton

Each past student addressed the grade nine students who gathered for the presentation of computers in the school's auditorium and what an emotional moment it was when past and present connected !  It was a memorable moment as present students were encouraged to start thinking of ways to stay together and give back to their Alma Mater. The electrifying session ended with the school song. The motivational speeches connected well with the students. Pastor Paul Hemmings returned to bring us his Easter message during our Easter Service   We thank all Past Students for their contribution to the school’s development. Thank you Class of  '97 for your tme and the resources you so generously transported to the school. We also thank Mr. Owen from the Observer for media coverage.

We are happy to record our thanks to other  past students who have continued to support the school in our co-curricular and academic pursuits:

You provided us with material resources for track & field and tennis as well as funds for other aspects of student development.  Of note is the fact that Class of 1995 gave us a cheque valued at One Hundred and Five Thousand Dollars ($105,000.00) while class of 1997 donated eight (8) computers.

We also record our thanks to Tarique Plummer, Past Head Boy and recipient of a scholarship to Laurier University in Canada.  Tarique, who is now the President of the Student Union at the Laurier University inspired the students with his motivational speech about his academic and social journey from St. Mary High to Laurier University.

We express our gratitude to Ms. Pam Campbell, employee at Jamaica Aggregates Ltd and past student of Port Maria High School, who enabled us to receive sand from the Management of Jamaica Aggregates Ltd. The link of course is our past student Winsome Campbell, (Class of  '81) sister of Pam Campbell. Thank you all for the roles you played in St. Mary High School's success at Easern Champs, 2018.

St. Mary High School entered the Grace Food Drink Flairy Competition courtesy of Ms. Delrose Coburn who was asked to coordinate our entry. We won therefore we will be awarded $750,000 in cash and prizes. We again thank all past students who voted for our video thus making it possible for us to win.

What a year it has been! We here at St. Mary High recognize that there is much room for greater performance, therefore we promise that we will  always work  hard at making your investment yield the kinds of success that will engender pride among you . We are happy that you have made the decision to empower us as it is widely known that schools with alumni who take an active interest in their growth and development, generally perform well.

If you supported us with your presence at Eastern Champs we thank you. If you cheered us along, we thank you. if I omitted your name or contribution, it was not intentional .Please forgive and remind me so that you too can be lauded for your invaluable support.  The fever has become contagious and we humbly request that all past students allow themselves to become part of this fever. Together we can only become stronger.

May God continue to bless you in your personal and professional undertakings. We celebrate the partnership we now share.

With much regard,

Jullett Frazer-Sadaar
