Anyone have a great work out plan for septuagenarians

I sure do Dave.  I have lots of firewood for you to split and stack. Plus I have a boulder wall to finish  ðŸ’ª

Steve, you might of misunderstood my question.... I'm not 70 yet. :)

Steven Scholl

Dave, Yes, turned the big 70 on July 6. Had a fun time with family boating, special dinner( Pork Chops on grill) and happy hour. The time is flying by, but enjoy games with the 9 grand children. It is getting harder to keep up the Grand Kids, but we do our best. Ha. Keep posting, we enjoy our class mates updates.

Steve Scholl, so it seems you should have been in the class ahead of us. Me, I have not class!
But I always try to have fun!! So. When you ard out singing where and when? I think a few of your classmates would like to come and listen and have a good time getting together. I am glad I never took a class on time, that way I never have to explain where the time went. We are f already mid July and still think a small group could get together. Let us know where, dates, times.... Thanks, say hello to Gail and enjoy your special time with your kids and grandkids!

Steve Scholl, hey, now that you are past 70 years (wink)  have you found out the truth from this passage (Psalm 90: 10 - 12). I like the King James use of  the Bible 3 score and 10 (Sometimes KJV is fun to quote). "10 The days of our lives are seventy years;
And if by reason of strength they are eighty years,
Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;
For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
11 Who knows the power of Your anger?
For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.
12 So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

After I wrote that, I thought to ask, have you made a video of your band singing "I'll Fly Away?" A great, fun song especially for a funeral.

David Frazer

Sorry. Didn't mean to shut down the conversation by talking about funerals. Hope everyone has a great August month!

♫ Au - u - gust, die she must,

The autumn winds blow chilly and cold. ♫

Honestly, where were S & G located that this lyric would ring true in August?

Certainly not down here in Alabama!  angry

"Sweet home Alabama.. where the skies are so blue..."

Steve Hardy

No, Steve, I think S&G must have been up around the Arctic Circle to find cold autumn winds in August.

But for the life of me, I can't understand why we start the school year during this hot month.

We started August 7th, rather than in September, as do the northern school districts.

When I opened my bus this afternoon (August 15th), it seemed hot enough to bake bread in there.

As hot as it is right now, I am still blessed to be here.

The song says it well, "Sweet Home Alabama".

One of the young people, evidently a high school senior, brought his or her car to church today.  In addition to the usual decor, the person's VenMo account was displayed on the passenger side window.

Ingenious.

Times have changed since our senior year, just a bit.

David Frazer

You are right, Steve. Things have changed. I can't keep up with anything. My new computer won't work because I took off everything that connects automatically (and I also bought a new computer for only 359 dollars- cheap). So tell me what is Venmo?

08/17/25 06:42 PM #2759

Steve Hardy

Dave,

VenMo is a phone app that allows a person to send money.  Some of us used it to send our payments to Yvette for the reunion last year, and I used to receive tips from party bus passengers through VenMo.

One transfers money from a bank account or credit card to his or her VenMo account, and sends it to the account of another person or entity.

Think of it as a phone app version of wiring money like Western Union.   (♫ Western Union, â™ª dee de dee dee dee, dee de dee dee dee ♫)

btw, I think that several people must be vacationing this last month of summer, as it has been very quiet here.

I'm becoming like my uncle. It is scary to see how I pull back from anything that I have to connect with (especially, going through Google). I remember my uncle in the early years showing me his Computer with a program on that did not require Microsoft to operate. I just bought a cheap computer ($ 350) and have to return it because it will not work once I modify with likes and dislikes.

Steve H, the sound of your singing didn't come thru but I'm sure it was beautiful..

Dave F.,I'll send you my Venmo account name and show you how easy it is to send a $1,000 to someone. 🤣

Sorry Steve B. I will have to get a gift card from Target to give to you.... :)

I'm sorry to report Diane Marie Bunge Prairie  passed away on August 7, 2025.  I posted her obituary in the "In Memory" page.

Special thanks to Susan Perkins Sershen for letting us know.

I found a few old obituaries by searching the Kok Funeral Home site, and posted them as well.

Summer? Why does it go by so fast? It's the Minnesota state fair time already! Then it was time to start school again. We live a lot through the eyes of our children and grandchildren of the days gone by and watching them grow up in a different world. Im sure the same way our parents watched us. We realize that in the end it is our family and friends that are the most important thing in our lives.
I am sorry to hear of the recent passing of our fellow classmates. My sincere condolences to their families and close friends.
I am wishing all those having a birthday in September a wonderful day. Still working on having a get together before our next reunion in four years. Stay healthy and safe.

Susan Perkins Sershens was talking to Steve and Gail Scholl last week and talked to him about playing for the class.  She told him he could probably play in the back room at the Legion in SPP, and whoever wanted to listen could show up on a designated night.

Sounds like it could be fun.

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

Sounds like fun!!

Definitely post information if Steve is playing at the Legion or VFW. I'm going to playing with my daughter's band, Double Take, Saturday night at the Bloomington Eagles club starting at 8. No cover, good food, good drink prices.

Happy September!  It seems August was in a hurry to pass us by.

Autumnal equinox will be here before we know it (not that it is a very life altering event for many of us)!

To quote S&G once again,

🎼"🎵September, I remember, 🎶 a love once new has now grown old.🎵"

Ok, I won't quit my daytime job.

Steve, I'm trying to "remember that time in September" you are talking about....

Was that when you were a tender and callow fellow?
