Yes, I would say I was a " tender and callow fellow" as that song was featured in the pool scene of "The Graduate" which premiered in 1967.

I also remember that Dustin Hoffman's character had a can of "Olympia" beer, opened with a can opener, as he was floating around that backyard pool.

Of course, don't expect me to remember what I ate for dinner yesterday, or what my wife asked me to buy when I went to the store.

Steve, the song in September is the main September song that I remember from my youth. Even Simon and Garfunkel's I don't remember... nope. I gues it is about time in September to remember.

Here it is the 7th of September and someone at Church talked to me about snow today. Third conversation about snow that people spoke with me this week. Is there something I don't know?

I hope this message funds everyone doing well. At this point it looks like I will be sitting in with Double Take, my daughter's band, on September 27th at the Boulevard Tavern right off of 52 in Mendota Heights. Seems like it should be West St Paul but, oh well. 3-7. Now I just have to figure out how to play Beer Barrel Polka on harmonica.

Bernie, I officiated funerals as a Funeral home Chaplain for 10 years (as a Chaplain 23 years, as a pastor 30 years, and still) where for the special music they played, "Roll Out The Barrel" and "In Heaven there is No Beer" (I don't know how they know that :)). Just an FYI, a bagpipe player would be given an honarium of $ 250 or more (think 1990's) for one or two songs and the officiant $ 150 for the 45 minutes plus the time taken for internment (give or take). I see a future income for you playing harmonica for funerals. angel

This Saturday at 3 my daughter's band is playing at the Blvd tavern in West St Paul. We'll see how the polka songs are with the harmonica.

Bernie, I was in Nashville until yesterday afternoon. I bet you were a hit! Please pray for Steve Hardy, he just had a heart attack at about 3:30 pm and had a Helicopter ride to the hospital. Steve cried when I broke and dislocated my Patella at Carlton College track meet for high school (I yelled because the ambulance didn't secure the gurney). I'll be honest, I cried as Steve's wife told me to pray for him.

Any more information about Steve?

Hey guys, copied this from Julie Hardy's FB page...
STEVE Hardy UPDATE: Thank you all for your love and prayers. Here's what happened:

Steve was driving his afternoon bus route. He started to feel pressure in his chest. He dropped off at one school. Then as he started to the second school it became really painful. So he waved down a school employee at the second school and told them to call an ambulance. The ambulance came and then called for a helicopter to fly him to Huntsville Hospital. They got him into the ER and into surgery right away. He had a major blood clot so they ran a stent up through his arm. He'll be in ICU overnight and then another day in the hospital for observation.

The doctor told me that Steve is still here because he acted immediately in calling for an ambulance.

Again, thanks for the prayers. You all are awesome. ❤️

Prayers for a speedy recovery!  So glad you got the help you needed! 🙏🙏🙏

Steve Hardy

Thanks for the many prayers offered on my behalf.  Dave Frazer told me that he alerted Kevin Noonan's fellowship group and they started praying.  Dave's cousin Mary Jo got people to pray. Julie's online and fellowship groups prayed for me.  I am truly blessed.

I was released from the hospital about mid-afternoon today, and slept in a quiet, comfortable bed again.

There will be follow-up appointments in the weeks and months to come, and lots of meds to ingest.

Heaven will be great when the time comes, but I am grateful for the opportunity to recommit myself to redeeming the time while I am here.

Another concern that has been on my mind for some time is that I would like to enlist another classmate as a "co-admin" for this site,   It's pretty easy to run the site, and Gary Hosler, the website designer and first admin, can be reached for advice as needed.

I will continue to maintain this site, but having another person who could take over in the event of an even more serious emergency would be appreciated.

Wow! Is the time flying... October 18th and we are thinking about the winter. "Batten down the hatches?"

10/20/25 10:19 AM #2790

Robert Ayre

Steve H. How are you doing in your recovery?
Dave F. What winter? Comes latter and lasts shorter. Ask those snowbirds that sulk when they have to put a coat on in Florida,Arizona,Texas...when it's 60 degrees.
I have not had thr pleasure yet to hear Steve Scholls band nor Bernie's. If you guys would be so kind as to letting us know of your next gigs, we would appreciate that! Thanks!
As always wishing everyone good health, especially Dave since he has already battened down his hatches keeping all the germs inside!!

Dave F:
Sorry, winter has been canceled.

Please return to your boat as soon as possible.

Bob,

I'm doing fairly well.  I'm also discovering that some of the pains I have been experiencing in my left shoulder blade and collar bone were not old wrestling injuries after all.  Since a stint was installed, the pains have diminished, especially if I take the meds according to schedule.

I feel like Mt. Saint Helens in that I was probably rumbling and grumbling under the surface until the seismic disturbances grew too large to ignore.

The kids on my bus route were glad to see me driving again, and I received hugs from several of them.

Only four more years until our 55-year reunion.  I'll do my best to make it there.

Steve H. I'm glad you are doing better. Sounds like you actually are better off now. Steve B. there are no boats by the bridge that Andre (our Standard Poodle) and I could see when we were running today. My neighbor and Sue are the only one's with the boats out. Bob, what do you think about a new button on the side under 1974 History/Videos? The button would be.... list your ailments as you age. Do you have any Bob you might list. Steve B., don't put my living too close to you as an ailment. wink

Okay Steve H, we'll call you Mt Saint Steven.. and Steve B should I put my snowblower away?

10/21/25 09:26 PM #2795

Steven Bilderback

After today's weather I may need to reevaluate the reliability of my winter cancelation sources.
It might be a good idea to check the gas in the snowblowers, or at least let Dave F. know where you keep your snow shovels. I heard Dave F. is a very helpful guy. I'll probably be listening to the salty breeze rattle the palm leaves being no help whatsoever.
