Steve Hardy

Yes, we'll be keeping Toni in our prayers.

Kevin,

We're looking in the Decatur area.  I noticed you are one of two other classmates listed in Alabama.  Mark Denne is the other.  Where abouts are you in Alabama?

Any info or advice you might think pertinent would be welcome,  especially in relation to fishing or hunting!

And Dave,

"I hope Mr. Young will remember,

Southern Man don't need him around anyhow!"

Actually, the guys from L.S. said they were friends with N.Y., and were just poking fun at him.

Toni, my very sincere condolences to you and Lynn's family for your loss. He is always with you as you continue your journey in this life. As he watches over you he would want you to smile and remember the good times! Take care.

Yvette thanks for letting us know about Toni's husband. However, even though we are getting older that dosen't mean you have to repeat it! Ha! Unless that was your double mint twin. I should post my kindergarten picture as that is the only time I looked young. We seriously need to get together this summer! Let's try again for a picnic and kayaking/canoeing. Time isn't saved in a bottle!

HAPPY birthday to all our March classmates!

Bob, time in a bottle was our snowball dance in 1974; named from Jim Croce song. I had been let out of the hospital that day and told not to go dancing with my new leg cast. I went dancing with Sue my to be wife (Great investment); Steve Hardy went as my chauffer. The three of us went out to eat together at a place my mother suggested. Good memories. Also, sad memories of people who were there and now moved on. "If I could save time in a bottle, The first thing that I'd like to do, Is to save every day till eternity passes away, Just to spend them with you...". Praying for you Toni (and you too Doug).

Dave, not that it matters but I am pretty sure "Time in a Bottle" was Prom, not Sno Ball.

03/10/22 07:01 AM #2033

Robert Ayre

Dave well it sounds you had a leg up on everyone. Or you were just part of the cast. At least you went as I didn't have a "snow ball" chance in getting a date.
I am sure it was a lot of fun! Wow great memory of the words! However " It's a little bit funny that feeling inside.." I'm not one of those that can easily hide..

Mary Walseth

Hello everyone. Toni Brush has given me permission to post her address on this sight. Her address is 6467 82nd St So, Cottage Grove.
May she find peace as she cherishes her memories with Lynn.

Michael Wade,

You're right, "Time In A Bottle" was the Prom Theme. I went to the prom (sans Dave).

03/10/22 11:34 PM #2036

David Frazer

Well, I didn't go to the prom; my wife (girlfriend) broke up with me during that time for bad behavior. Instead, I stooped as low as I felt I could stoop; I took her to a political fund raising concert for Gov. Anderson. I think it cost 6 or 8 dollars, a high price because of the concert being a money fund raiser. Who was the person I used to stoop so low, and decieve my wife into getting back with me? John Denver. I'm so ashamed. My teeth were grit for hours.

03/11/22 10:28 PM #2037

Michael Wade

Steve,  who did you go to prom with?  I went with Deb Thurston.

03/13/22 01:00 PM #2038

David Frazer

Michael, I can tell you for sure, that Steve is correct. He did not go to the Prom with me.

03/13/22 11:09 PM #2039

Steve Hardy

I went to the prom with Michelle O'Brien, a sophomore that year.  I didn't know her before arranging to go with her.  I believe Dave and Sue set that up.

Thanks Mary for giving us Toni's address! Praying for her. Blessings.

So classmates, do we make rules up for our next get together? I'm thinking after listening to 70 to 90 year olds tell about their medical issues, we should set limits on sharing our health history. By the way, I have a sore... stay healthy! Blessings!

03/23/22 11:54 AM #2042

Robert Ayre

Well Dave its a good thing you are not cantankerous because then you would be a canker sore! Now if those 70-90 stay active you would hear more about their swimming, pickle ball, golf..
I'm back playing racquetball again. Any players out there? Any suggestions for a summer get together?

03/23/22 04:40 PM #2043

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

You be nice now Mr.Ayre! Raquette Ball? You're on!! Place and time that I can kick your cantankerous behind? Summer get together for sure!

03/25/22 08:26 AM #2044

Robert Ayre

Oh! Listen to Mrs. Workout queen! You better be wearing a very big shoe to kick my butt. I suppose that is the French version of Racquetball with two ts. You probably won't even hit the ball off the wall even when it's a four sided court. Hmm. But the challenge is on. Let me know the bet?

03/26/22 10:21 AM #2045

Bernie Willhite

Almost sounds like a Billie Jean King Bobby Riggs scenario.

03/26/22 11:37 AM #2046

David Frazer

Wow! The game competition is tough. I'm surprised, raquetball? I thought Pickleball was the fastest growing sport because of old people like us playing? Bob, I'm happy to just swing a fishing pole with the grandchildren. Actually, I should sing, "I just want to celebrate another day of living, I just want to celebrate another day of life." We sure had the best time in history to be exposed to all kinds of great music on our little transistor radios and wow, what variety of music! Is our history the reason that makes Bob want to raise a lot of raquet.

wink

03/27/22 11:41 AM #2047

Robert Ayre

Hey Dave the first part is that I leave the word "old" out of my vocabulary. Then I try and stay busy so the mind dosen't catch up to the body. Nothing like workout guru's but just enough. Just remember to hold on to that "Snoopy" rod before you throw it! Always fun to take a kid fishing, when are we going? I haven't seen any ideas yet for a summer get together? Most snowbirds should be here. We can make it easy for the arm chair classmates with a picnic and more adventure some for those who move. Ideas?

03/27/22 11:54 AM #2048

Robert Ayre

So Dave "pickle" ball for "old" people is that the word because our skin shrivels like a pickle or some bath in cologne or perfume too much in lieu of a bath/shower like brine or are they in a "pickle" as to what else to do? Credit for moving. I hope it's not an indication of a body part! Looks like fun version of a shorter tennis game. I am willing to play if I had someone who would like to play.
Yes, we had Great music and I understand those needing one hearing and today carrying their boom boxes up to one ear! Wishing everyone a great spring! Stay healthy and safe!
