Susan I too just had major surgery. Mine was on my spine in the neck. Quite a process. They say 6 weeks of recovery for this one also. Since they gave back some of my height loss the muscles have to stretch back out, I can tell you they are not happy. But it will get better!!!

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes on my recovery. It is a process! I tore my hamstrings off at the bone ony left leg in 2016. It was not repaired because of bad medical advice. (TMI for some:)
When they went in to try and repair, they found the sciatic nerve had grown into the spot where the bone broke off. Then, the hamstring had attached itself to the sciatic nerve as it retracted down my leg. 20cm in all. It took the physicians 3+ hours just to free up the hamstring and then attached a cadaver Achilles tendon to the end of the hamstring and pull it up and attach with a screw to the "sit bone" on my butt
16 inch incision from butt to knee. I was fortunate to have 2 of the best surgeons in the country working on me! God bless them and the rest of their team.
Did too much upon my arrival home and am paying for it now!!
When they say if you have your health you have everything, truer words were never spoken.
God bless you all!

Sue,
Sounds like a pretty painful and serious injury and surgery!  Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery so you can enjoy those grandkids!

Rob, thank you for saying hello to my parents, that means more to me than you can imagine! I still miss them every single day.
Doc says my recovery will be 6 months.
My best wishes to everyone else recovering. It is not for the faint of heart!

Sue you have a lot of "nerve"! No ifs and's or butts about it you have to be able to tolerate a lot of pain to go through that ordeal! "Butt" then again if you read my posts they could be worse! Interesting procedure for the reattachment. Just make sure you follow all their rehabilitation programs. Well write my name on your cast as a classmate who cared! 6 weeks should go fast. Let us know of any good Netflix movies we should be watching. Take care.

Sue sorry I read it wrong you said 6 months! The sit bone? Hmm I'm told to sit, stay, heal and lay down by my dish all the time. Next it will be a leash and muzzle! Overdue for my rabies!, distemper and heartworm shots. Back to my kennel! Enjoy spring!

Wow, it almost time for June to roll into town. Hope everyone is navigating the weather changes (figurative and literal). I'm still trying to wrap my head around the changes in our culture. Can you imagine remembering all the right pronouns for five hundred + classmates? I think I might be suspended from the school (reference to the new VA school distict rules with a five day suspension for using the wrong pronoun). They say as you age you lose touch with culture changes; I'm prime for not making many of these cultural changes because of a long historical and Biblical context from my professional studies as a minister. I'm waiting to be ostracized from my counseling profession (retirement then, not so bad of a deal). What an exciting world for us!

Just received word that John Pike passed away last night.  He had been battling prostrate cancer that had been spreading for the last 5 years.  Please keep John's wife, Peggy, and his family in your prayers.

I do recall John, althpough did not know him very well. I know we, of course, had classes together.

Prayers and condolences to his family, absolutely.

My sincere prayers and condolences to John Pikes family. As they say rest in peace, however how can any of our family and friends whom have gone before us rest when they are watching over and caring for all of us every day!

Diane Berger was my best friend in Kindergarten and grade school.   Does any one know what she passed away from?

The Park High Indians Facebook page has a post for the class of 1972's 50-year reunion.  They are asking to be contacted if anyone know the whereabouts of some of  the missing members of the class.

Denise,

Diane died in a car crash on March 7, 1975 in Dakota County.  She was greatly missed by her friends.  She was one of our first classmates to pass away.

My retirement plaque arrived today, so it's official. Nice, but I was hoping that they would inscribe "To the BEST MNDOT worker, EVER!"
Oh well, "🎼Thanks for the memories 🎶. . ."

May be an image of text that says 'Steve SteveHardy Hardy In appreciation and recognition for your years of service mı DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Metro District Minnesota Û October2, 2007 Jun'
