Mark, thank you for that..

@Steve ... Welcome! I enjoy solving these types of "puzzles" in my family history research hobby.  I use "amateur grade" tools and databases such as Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, Newspapers.com, Findagrave.com, Legacy.com (for obituaries) and sometimes LinkedIn.com (a social network with mostly accurate information).

And thanks to you too for keeping this website in good order.

Wow Mark! Thank you for doing the research. When I read about the classmates we have lost; somehow makes me wonder how much time there is left to tell people you love them. The book of Ecclesiastes (7:2) tells: "Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart." As a chaplain for a funeral home; I would officiate a service and then call my parents, reminded that today is the day we have to show and tell our love. Again Mark, THANKS!

Or Dave, wait until you can't tell them. sad

@Dave.  Welcome!

And thanks to you also for your sweet thoughts and for providing a lot of the personality for this website.

Like many of our classmates, both of my parents have died ... I think it is a rare treasure at our age to have a living parent.

All right. I will confess. The beautiful winter has now turned to "I can't wait for the snow to be gone!" I went out shovelling to the ground different spots to hasten the melting. I pray we don't have snow tomorrow! Praying for blessings on everyone!

Spent 7 hours at the Toyota Dealer in Eau Claire; the car salesman and friend Jay Bouley showed a clip of a solo he heard last year! He was quite impressed. I was impressed just listening on his phone. Two weeks in a row Jay asked me if I ever heard this guy play (I was at the dealer last week too). Can you guess who our soloist is?

Hello and HAPPY Birthday to all those April classmates celebrating another great year!
Ok can we start to get some ideas for our 50 year reunion. It takes time to plan and prepare and to allow those living in other states to prepare. Let's start with a time frame. Summer/ fall.

We better make it when it's warm or the snowbirds won't show.
It seems people don't like the cold anymore.
(Coming from someone that's been hanging out at the beaches in Mississippi for the last six weeks.)

Dave, is the soloist Vic DePaulis?

04/05/23 08:43 AM #2256

David Frazer

Cynthia, you are right! I was impressed to hear a solo on that instrument. Jay has a great ear for music but doesn't play. Jay told me it was an outstanding concert and Vic's solo was the highlight! Jay then showed me a picture of him and Elton John from 1986 together (There was no way I would have known it was Jay with his black curly hair and mustache).

Speaking of class reunion; maybe we might have Vic play for us? laugh Bob, the third choice is for those who won't respond because either time frame is good if a long enough warning for planning. Do you know which weekend summer will be next year?

04/05/23 09:47 AM #2258

Robert Ayre

I'm sorry Dave but did you say which day would be summer? It would be nice if it was a weekend type of reunion. Everyone could could get together a bit longer if wanted as just a few hours never seems enough. Even if it was golfing or bowling, laser tag, picnic, kayaking...

David Frazer

Bob, do you think we might get more than a weekend of summer or just a day? I'm so glad we have four seasons (Winter, June, July, and August). I'm all ready looking forward to the class reunion. Blessings!

That could be arranged! I am actually needing to step away from the bands. For various reasons it has become necessary. NOT a fun decision to have to make, for sure.

But, I have a number of interesting pieces worked up using digital accompaniment with notation scrolling on the Ipad screen. So maybe we look at me doing that?

Oh, and if you would like to hear some  of the things I've done, pull my name up in Youtube. I have a nice variety of recordings!! Send me your feedback-I'd love to nhear it!

I think an outdoor event such as a picnic would be great, as it would be both more cost effective and would allow more time to reconnect among classmates, without the distractions of loud music or the time constraints of a given venue.

And, as Bob suggested, it would be great if we could make it a weekend event, with Friday being a gathering somewhere such as the Red Barn VFW, and Saturday as a time for a more leisurely gathering in one of the parks.  We would just need a place with a pavilion in the event of rain.

For those who are usually out of town throughout the summer, early September may work well, still being warm enough for an outdoor gathering.

Steve you are spot on, very late summer early fall before folks head south for the winter, Friday night social, Saturday a park with a shelter , many have horseshoe pit, pickell ball courts, frissebee golf etc.

I enjoyed the picnic we had that Donna planned. The event was fun; someone paid Bob to play a game with me. Bob never confessed who paid for him to be my friend that day. Hope the MN and WI classmates enjoy the warm weather today! I have two to three feet of snow in my yard still.

I am so sorry to inform you all that our classmate Jeanne Tweet was hit by a car while riding her bike. She was in ICU and is now recovering in therapy. As you know she was self employed as a painter. Please consider donating to the Go Fund me Page her sister set up. You can find that page at the end of this article . Thank you so much. Jeanne is very special to a lot of us. She hopes to be back to work when her therapy is complete. https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/cyclist-on-road-to-recovery-after-hit-and-run-crash-left-her-seriously-injured/

I just received word that John Lichtenberg passed away April 7.  A special thanks to Roger Fritz for letting us know.

Sorry to hear about Jeanne Tweet being hit by a car, and now hearing about John. Steve, did John join the Navy with Rick Johnson, John Harrington, and you?

05/12/23 02:41 PM #2269

Steve Hardy

No, I believe John went to Great Lakes, and that he left before we did that summer.  He signed up for avionics, which covered a handful of aviation specialties.Rick Johnson, John Harrington and I went to Orlando a month or two later.

For once I was right about the outcome for this Summer. Last year was to recover from the COVID "trauma"; this summer is to over compensate for a normal summer. Am I right so far? Just wish the breathing would be better; another fire in Michigan (Last few weeks in Canada). We need to encourage our police. Sue and I gave a small gift card and card to our Amery police department; these shootings are terrible and ruin morale. A sheriff parked in our Church parking lot had a bullet proof vest on... I'm not surprised. Praying for all the officers.
