Steve Hardy

I agree with John.  By October, most are back from their summer excursions, and the snowbirds are probably still in the area.  It should just a matter of checking the calendar for an available weekend for the Red Barn.

The October Fridays/Saturdays for 2024 will be the 4th/5th, 11th/12th, 18th/19th, and 25th/26th.

Sounds like October makes most sense!  Should I reserve October 11, 2024?  I'm sure there will be a deposit required.  I'll check into that cost.  I'll check in with Jeff regarding budget.  Who decides who holds the money for the budget?

Yvette thank you for all your help in contacting the Red Barn. I think we should just set it up for Oct 11th. Especially since we maybe thinking of a picnic the following day and we may get some great fall pictures of everyone. As Yvette mentioned there is a lot of behind the scenes in getting it all together. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you all for your feedback and support. This will be a fun reunion.

There is some summer still left here if anyone is interested in getting together. Dave it sounds like you are locked up as you are a prisoner in your own mind. Great idea of the pandora music setup. I could never have been in "Dave's " band" I never played any instruments I even get static from playing the radio. As always the biggest part is finding and contacting our fellow classmates. So spreading the word through your friendship's is a great start. Hopefully this will be a great turnout!Guaranteed some great fun, laughs and lasting memories.

I'll go ahead and reserve for 10/11/24.  I'm pretty sure there will be a deposit.  I messaged Jeff about what's left(if anything) in the budget.

Hey, any thoughts on just having snacks at the reunion?  CheesePuffs, Popcorn, etc....vs. real food laugh It would be cost effective and simple!  People could eat at home, and if we do a picinic the next day, we could do a sign up for potluck?  Enjoy your Sunday!

Yvette, I think snacks at the reunion and a potluck picnic the next day sounds great.  Thanks to you all who have worked on and are still working on getting this put together!  Looking forward to it!

Jeff Dubois we need to get your help please in knowing what we have to work with for funds for our 50 year reunion in 24. We have reserved the Red Barn again as many wanted the same venue. Yvette and I will be putting the deposit down on Thursday 7/20/23. They require half down. If you would be so kind as to contact myself or Yvette that would be very much appreciated! Thank you for your help!

Hello classmates!

Nice to see the interest and ideas in organizing the next reunion!

The total in the class account is $357.72.

Note in May of 2021 there was a payment for hosting the class web site made to Steve Hardy for $202.90.

FYI - I have a preference for the October timeframe for the reunion date in 2024.

The suggested Friday October 11 2024 for the class reunion happens to be my dad's birthdate.

However, that Oct 11 date should still work for my family as we could hopefully celebrate his 91st on the following Saturday Oct 12th in 2024.

On a separate topic - Anyone interested in paddling in the grey cloud island area this summer/fall (color cruise) - or making paddling a part of the reunion activities in 2024?

A weekend activity would work best for me since I am still working.

I had mentioned a kayak/canoe paddle activity a few years ago but I did not follow through with it - my bad.

I am still affliated with a canoe club and I may have access to a couple of four person canoes for those that don't have their own boat and  if there is enough interest :)

Thanks!

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

Hello, again!  So, we need to pay a $500(one half) deposit to book the VFW Red Barn for 10/11/24.  Jeff has $357.72 left in the budget, so we are already running short blush  So, if anyone wants to contribute early to the cause, they can use my Venmo account @Yvette-Nierenhausen, or mail checks to me at 490 Warner Ave So. Mahtomedi, MN  55115. To make the the money more accessible to the planners, we will set up a Park Hi checking account to deposit the money into. Okay with everyone? Bob and I plan to meet with the Red Barn contact this Thursday morning(no pressure).  I will cover the extra cost until we can catch up. Thanks in advance for getting us off to a great start to our 50th!

Yvette and Bob, I saw the idea about a D.J. but if you're interested I know 3 guys in a band.. They do quite well.. and even do 60s and 70s.. you might know one of the guys - Bernie Willhite

they have a website - https://www.righteousrock.band/

tell me what you think and I won't feel bad if you decide against them

Hey Steve,  trying to keep costs down, and had some feedback about the loudness of the music.  Do you know what they charge?

07/18/23 08:44 PM #2308

Robert Ayre

Jeff, thank you for your quick response. Is that balance to be used in maintaining the hosting of the website?
Since we charged such a minimal fee the last time of 25.00 as we can see the price of everything has increased thus we didn't have much funding left for our up coming reunion. Please let myself or Yvette know of that portion what we can use for the down payment. We will be reimbursed as we send out the invitations. All the other items are variables as we secure the venue. Thanks again to all those helping to making this a fun memorable event!

I can Venmo in $50 or what ever to help secure the down paymrnt.
Let me know where to send it.

Bob,

The hosting of this site is being funded by other means, so that the balance Jeff mentioned can be dedicated to the reunion expenses.

On another note, I own three canoes if anyone finds that helpful.

Hey Steve, Thanks for checking!  Trying to keep expenses down, so I think we will go with using Pandora and shuffle different music genres, unless others feel strongly about having a live band?  Thoughts classmates?

07/21/23 09:58 AM #2320

Tom Birkholm

I think most would be fine with Pandora. Also, it would reduce the stress of getting enough contributions to cover the cost.
