On the day I graduated from Mitchell College ('71), I married Dennis (from Los Angeles), whom I met the previous summer, while I was working as an interpreter during a 10-day United Nations conference in Japan. Since then, we've been living in Los Angeles, where I graduated from UCLA. I have been working as an interpreter, primarily for product liability and patent infringement multi million or billion dollar cases--throughout the U.S. and in several foreign countries.
My husband and I have always enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and exotic foreign destinations throughout the world. We have also returned many times to Statesville to visit my "American families." I am sorry that I am unable to attend the 50th reunion, which most certainly I would like to have done.
After Dennis retired in 2002, we started taking some "fun" senior classes at a junior college within walking distance, which we still do (2019).

Upon my arrival in Statesville from Japan in the Summer '68, I was instructed by the Altrusa Club to attend SHS to familiarize myself with American life and English language to prepare me to enter college. (I hope my English has improved a bit since then!) It was a most memorable and difficult year for me to keep up school work with thick text books (U.S. History, American Lit., etc.). I struggled and got lots of help from classmates. (Thank you to all!) I have just reviewed my yearbook. The many warm messages written in it have brought back fond memories of wonderful friends. My experience at SHS was priceless.
