Thanks Dana. I will definitely do that. I was a total unknown in school and in the year books, but like to relive those years.

I really enjoy the slide show that Tony put together.

Hi All!

I know Ms. Sarrett is teaching at Hillsborough (at least she was a couple years ago when she taught Jimmy Shimberg's son!) I'd love to know where Ms. Bittmann is and I'd love to see her if she can come. I'm working on getting Nancy to come to the reunion, but the 11th is her 20th wedding anniversary, so it's hard to compete with that!

This site is fantastic, Tony(s). You've put a lot of work into it. So much better than Facebook!!

Take care, see you soon.
Julie

If band members can bring their band instruments can we have a fun jam session? I think it would be fun to provide music/entertainment - of sorts? Scott our band captain is coming - get Chuck to bring some percussion and I have a Jembe drum and some cymbals even some egg shakers for spouses, that would like to add to the fun. There are several who are awesome guitar players from ACT1 or Jazz band. Don't be shy, who cares how we sound? It is for laughs and fun anyway/

WOW!! 30 years...you guys are getting old. I still live in Tampa and looking foward to the reunion. The website ROCKS! Call, write, we can get the party started early. It is fantastic to see and get the updates on everybody's profile. I guess other than breaking my arm wrestling against King HS, I was kinda in the background.

Thanks for such a great website. I have really enjoyed it. I know it took alot of work and thanks so much. Its great to see so many responses after 30 years. I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion. Julie I'm with you, I like to know where Ms. Bittman is too! If anyone knows.

While I do speak with Tony quite a bit, I just wanted him to know how much his efforts are appreciated. Running a successful business and trying to pull off a 30th Reunion has to be a challenge. If the excitement of reconnecting with our classmates over the last few weeks is any indication, I am certain the Reunion will be a great success due much to Tony's efforts. As for Mrs. Barnes attending, Carlana and I will make it happen. Mrs. Bittman would be great as well. Last I heard she was at Hillsborough High School. Take care.

A couple of years ago while I was attending a yoga class, I noticed a woman across the room that somehow seemed familuar, after shavasana, I approached her and asked her if she had ever been a school teacher, she replied, "yes I taught at Chamberlain High School". I said wait a minute, "You must be Miss Sky".

WOW! This is all new to me.

I left Tampa 29 years ago and never returned. It has been a great journey. MY husband Kevin, son Sean and I reside in Westchester County, NY in a small hamlet town called Bronxville (no, we do not live in the Bronx) which is 25 minutes outside NYC by train.

Sean is a freshman in High School and Kevin retires at the end of this year. We will be moving back to St Augustine, Florida in 2012 once we send Sean off to college. It is exciting.

I had a chance to look at the photos and profiles and am so impressed with all the efforts that have been made to create this website. BRAVO!

Enjoy the reunion.

Kindest regards,
Cindi Sutton-Callahan

Ok....this is scary! I was looking at my daughter's High School Alumni website (she graduated from Boca Ciega HS, St. Petersburg, FL, June-2008), trying to see if her class was listed as "alumni" yet, and it dawned on me that 2009 is MY 30 YEAR REUNION! (we are getting old!)...I didn't go to 10 yr. reunion (8 months pregnant..don't think so!), the 20 yr....too busy sounded like a good excuse....but now we are getting close to 30....think I will be attending this one!!!! I am looking forward to seeing everyone again...even though I have what I call Adult A.D.D... :)
P.S....anyone ever know what happened to our cute math teacher, Mr. Costanza?
Look forward to seeing everyone!
Ivy

The hardest thing about high school for me to wrap my mind around is....we didn't have air conditioning! Even the jails are air conditioned now.

And we had to hand write all our papers. This world has changed so much in 30 years!

Anne Marie,

Do you hear me laughing up here in New York.

This past spring the temperature got around 99 degress, a bit unusual. The school closed down for 2 days. WIMPS!

Everyone headed to the club to go swimming.

I sat down this morning and got lost in this site. It is so neat being able to look up so many friends from the past. I never sit at the computer and now I have been here for hours. Just keep thinking of different people and then look for their profile, it is so cool. It was sad to read about the ones who have passed away. I can not wait to see you.

I wonder what happened to the art teachers, both Ms. Gomez and Ms. Forrester. I recall Ms. Forrester (and I may not be spelling that right) had the whitest skin I had ever seen. We used to joke with her that she was afraid of the sun... And Ms. Gomez--well, she was just plain cool!

Yes its hard to forget those sweltering summer days with no A/C. I remember every year they told us toward the end of the year that when we came back from summer break we would have A/C and it never happened. I did hear that they installed it the year after we graduated. That seemed to be our luck.

Who remembers going to Burger Chef after the football games?

And what about how easy it was to buy alcohol? I know, I know, it is not good for kids so young to drink. We were too young to understand the consequences of our behavior. They were right to change the drinking age to 21. I am very careful not to drink and drive (now.) I am soooo thankful that no one got hurt. But we did it and I lived.....

so can I say it now----it was fun!!!

I remember ms gomez the art teacher. I still have a painting I did in her class.
Where are other teachers?

Through this Website I was able to get in contact with couple of classmates (Gregory Williams and Chuck Prather)who worked with me from 1977 to 1980 in Kash 'n Karry on Florida Ave as bag boys. . May be we should have Kash 'n Karry 30 year reunion instead .......

Oh alcohol, lol! A bunch of us found an ad in Rolling Stone Magazine for state ID's. All we did was send in our pics, what state we were supposedly from and the $. Oddly, we all said we were from Tennessee, as we thought if we all went out and got carded we would at least "match". And we got them back promptly and they passed everywhere. And guess what? lol I am moving to TN in 6 weeks. I hope that doesn't turn out to be karma, lol!

I am floored when I remember our legal ability to buy alcohol at 18! My boys love to play the "yeah mom, but I bet you did it too" card, but I'm able to remind them that it was legal! We've come a long way baby (my choice of cigarette back in the day;-)

And Jane, that brings up another thing---the smoking area. I don't think it was legal for teenagers to buy cigarettes back then, but we had a school sanctioned area where people could smoke.

It was so practical. It was outside, so non-smokers didn't deal with the smoke and the girls' restrooms were free for their intended use!

Alcohol! My dad gave me beer when I was 10 year old...... in vietnam.
Anything go overthere

Anne Marie is right . . . wasn't there a legal age for cigarette purchases? (like it really mattered I suppose). What I remember about the smoking area was how Coach Lentz used to jog along the chalked lines outlining the official smoking area. He always had this glint in his eyes always hopeful that someone would stray onto the line and he would take them out. Pretty sad that as an adult you would enjoy knocking down a teenager. Oh well.

Now Anthony, don't be dissing Coach Lentz. I remember he used to let us drive to Bo's for soft ice cream during driver's ed!
