Oh, Connie, I am so sorry to hear Brownie is having health issues, thank God he has you.  My baby sister has congestive heart failure, it is a difficult issue to deal with.  Hang in there, sweet friend!

Kathy....Thanks for your post and for your concern.  It means a lot to me.  Your little sister is way yoo young for that kind of problem.   Hope she is doing okay.  Take care.

The number of people on my prayer list keeps going up daily!  Connie, my sister is not likely to ever be alright, her heart is only working at about 33%, this is all a result of the chemotherapy she had to go through in her 20's.  if her heart function does not improve, the next step is a heart transplant, if she is strong enough.  Add her to your prayer lists, please.

Kathy....sorry to hear that about your little sister.  Brownie won't get better either.  His heart function was down to 15% while he was in the hospital.  They did an ablation on him and it did improve his heart to about 20% but it doesn't look too promising.  Thanks to all of you that have expressed their concern.  Love all of you.

Thanks, all of you, the more prayers the better. My sister's name is Alicia Montague, not that God doesn't know her name, but I like having names when I pray.  Xoxo

Hi Everyone - so sorry to hear about Brownie and Alicia. I'll keep them in my prayers. Like you, my prayer list gets longer everyday.  The older we get it seems like our health and the health of those around us seem to take center stage. I've had to take care of my Mom during a couple of falls she's had. But she has rallied and still lives in her house and gets around pretty well for a 91 year old person. Phil and I are doing well. I retired last year in June. Phil is still working. He wants to hang in there to 67. I've been spending about a third of the year in Corpus Christi Texas. We've had a condo here for about 10 years. It's up for sale.  The party atmosphere here is getting a little too robust for us old farts. We bought a small house a little closer to the island - less traffic and much quieter.  Kind of fun doing my own version of "House Rehab".  Well we are 3 years away from our 50th Reunion. We should do something really special for that one! Take care everyone!! Love each and every one of you!

Thank you, Becky, as I said, all prayers are appreciated!  I love Corpus Christi, we used to take the kids down there when we lived in Grand Prairie.  I hope to be able to join everyone for the 50th reunion, whatever is planned.  Hugs to all.

Hello everyone, happy birthday to those I missed.  So nice to see so many more classmates visiting this site and posting.  Yesterday I was working at the local high school and it was the seniors last day.  They were checking out, turning in books, signing yearbooks and it brought back so many memories.  The school colors for their school are green and white, like ours were.  The Yearbooks were still BOOKS and they were busy signing.  The yearbook had about 350 pages and weighed a ton.  They were gracious enough to loan me one for a short while.  The students had to purchase extra pages for signing at $1 a page because the yearbook was so extensive.  I think they had almost 2000 students.  Made me wonder what the yearbook at Tehachapi  looks like now.  I wonder when yearbooks will eventually become digital?

Hi Margo, you and Ken look great.  I cannot imagine going to high school with so many students, so glad I was able to attend Tehachapi High with our small class.  Can't imagine digital yearbooks, either, but I suppose it will happen, digital scrapbooks have been around for a while, ugh.  Take care.

Hi all,

I know that my time here is hit and miss, I do love to read everyone's comments though.  My husbands Dad has been failing, in and out of the hospital, he is now in hospice..  My baby sister was in kidney failure last weekend and was bleeding internally, she is home now, still being tested, no one seems to know what caused this.  So, life has been keeping us busy, please keep Floyd and Alicia, plus the families in your prayers.  Kathy

Hi, from West Texas! Eli & Darlene thanks for getting some of us starting to post! Kathy, very sorry to hear about your family members & our thoughts are with you. It really has been a hot & busy summer. We took a 17 day, 4300 mile Granddaughter graduation trip in June (N. CA) with sightseeing & hiking added in. Now we are building an addition to my husband's workshop so I can have a bigger quilting room. It will take us awhile! All in our family are doing well & I hope all of you out there are also doing well. Won't make the Oldtimers Reunion this year. Have a great time to all of you who do! Always fun to read these posts & get caught up!   Ann

Sorry to have been out of touch for a while. Not sure when I posted last. My husband and I moved to Brookings, Oregon, almost a year ago, but spent a lot of time in the San Joaquin Valley this past spring. My mother had many health problems and died June 20. Almost immediately after, I had to have my gallbladder removed as it had been giving me a lot of trouble; feeling much better now. Had grandkids visit during the summer, which was great therapy. I did not make it to the Oldtimers' picnic this year and won't make Mountain Fest, but perhaps next year. If anyone finds themselves headed to the Oregon Coast, would love to see you! We are just above the California border. Always nice to hear from you all!
