What a great idea Eli about those who can meeting at the Mountain Festival. Maybe you could talk Epi into hosting it at his house next year. We could all bring snacks and drinks. Keep us posted. :)

It's been great reading all the comments about our reunion weekend. It really was a wonderful time & everyone who made it there added special moments. I loved the surprise "guests" which added another level to the memories & friendships. We are a great class & I'm proud to be a part of it! I hope to keep in touch with as many of you as possible. Thanks to Nick & Mary, Becky & Phil, Claudia & Ann for an outstanding job! Hope all of you stay safe until we meet again.

What a hoot! Notice the toilet in the background of the pictures taken in the new BeeKay restrooms. It takes so little to make us happy ;-)

Thanks to Nick and Mary Jane for a great start to a perfect weekend of memories. Becky and Phil, what an outstanding job. Thank you to those who helped behind the scenes. It was heart warming to be able to spend time with all who attended. We are so blessed! George and Lina, thanks for letting me hitch a ride. I had a good time getting a head start on memories. Ann and Margo, thanks for letting me stay with you. This is the first time not having a "home" to come to when in Tehachapi. I have many pictures and will get them posted, that is if Claudia will let me know what the procedure is. At this stage of the game, 10 years is way to long too wait for another reuinion. Actually, 5 years is way too long. Mike, I would love to come to Austin and then I could check it out. I liked Texas when I was there, not the little town I was in, but Texas in general. If I had to chose a class to be a part of, it would be hands down........CLASS OF '69.
Love you all and hope to hear from you! Vicki

I KNOW I'M STILL EXCITED TO HAVE SEEN ALL MY CHILDHOOD FRIENDS AND CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER 10 YEARS. I HOPE EVERYONE KEEPS THE MEMORIES FRESH AND I LOOK TO SEEING SOME OF YOUZZZ AROUND TOWN WHEN I GO UP THERE. IF I DON'T SEE YOU BUT YOU SEE ME, DON'T BE SHY AND SAY HI. LET'S HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU GUYS ONLINE HERE. HERE'S MY CELL# 626)712-7741 IF ANYONE WANTS TO CALL CAUSE IT WAS HARD TO TALK TO EVERYONE AT THE RE-UNION DUE TO THE LARGE AND GREAT TURN-OUT. I'LL BE WAITING AND SEE YA, YOUR FRIEND ELI.

Connie, Phil and I had a great dinner together in Portland on Friday night. We had the most beautiful view of the Columbia River while we ate. The weather was perfect - no rain.
We talked and talked and talked and could have talked longer but Connie needed to get back to Salem.
Thanks for making the trip Connie. I know you had some challenges getting to Portland. It was wonderful to see you.

Eleazar, you are right! I am guilty. I have so enjoyed reading the comments and meant to write something right after the reunion. The reunion was such a success and there aren't enough ways to thank Phil and Becky for hosting us in their backyard, Claudia and Becky for their work on the website, and to everyone that helped in some way to make the reunion such an unforgetable event.

Thank you to all who participated in the website, all those that posted profiles, shared stories, shared photos, and thank you to all of you that came such a long distance to celebrate the 40th reunion. I know that it wasn't easy for some of you.

The ambience, venue, and food were wonderful but it was our class that made this such a success.

I wished I'd had more time to chat with everyone, the time went by so quickly and I hope to see more share their memories and stories on the website!

Our Tehachapi Class of 69 are the BEST!

P.S. Eleazar, hope it doesn't take another ten years for all of us to get together again.

And thanks to you and Phil for the delicious dinner (seafood yummy) at the Red Lion. We were able to talk more about the reunion, kids, grandkids and even our pets. Becky and I are trying to plan a trip to Texas someday. Just a girls get-away. Won't that be a hoot. I did get into a terrible traffic jam on my way to Portland. Huge motorcycle herd and a couple of cars tried to go head-to-head. I think the cars won. What would have been a 50 minute drive turned into 3 and a half hours. Becky and I lost valuable gab time but it was great anyway. And thanks Phil for letting us go on and on!!

You know I haven't been to the Mountain Festival for 14 years and every year since Tim and I have been together, we try to figure out how we can go. When his kids lived with us, the schools always started the week prior to the Festival. Our excuse now is work. Which sounds really lame. But I think having a get together during Festival would be awesome!! IT would give us a really good reason to make an effort to come to Festival. Hope you are all doing good and even though I didn't get a chance to talk to some of you as much as I wanted hopefully, we can continue our conversations via this web-site. We really are an awesome group who were blessed to be the CLASS OF 1969!!!

Hi Everybody,
Looks like I am not the only one who keeps checking back here to see who has been on and added comments... If any of you have not gone to the User Forums to read what I posted be sure to go read because I don't know how to copy and paste that message in here, ha. Also, I finally got a CD made of the photos on my camera. Went to walmart to get a copy made to send to Becky to post and wouldn't you know it after waiting 20 minutes was informed that their machines weren't working, so... need to go to another store this week, so... keep checking back over the next 2-3 weeks. There are some great pictures for all to enjoy !!!

Restoration and Healing

The Best Thing about our Class ReUnion this year was what it did for my Heart and Soul. It was an incredible time of RESTORING RELATIONSHIP with each of you. It was truely A DREAM COME TRUE for me ' It was like being in HEAVEN with people I have always loved and cared about and wanted to let them know it. I got the opportunity of a life-time to do that on Fri-Sat-and Sun through all the smiles and hugs. It HEALED something deep inside of me to be RE-CONNECTED with everyone and know where they are all in their faith and lives.

I too, like Connie said in her Forum Post, felt a sense of loss after it was over... Dave Reed mentioned he felt it too. Connie, maybe what we were experiencing was "feeling what those who couldn't make it" were feeling... a sense of loss that they weren't here in person with us to experience this wonderful time of joy and fellowship we had together. I am just so Thankful I made it and will treasure these feelings of being Brothers and Sisters who care about each other deeply for the rest of my life.

Kathy Hawkins, Robin K, Yavonne V, Annie H, Brad O, Bob D, Tim, John V, Brenda K, Karen V and all the rest of you YOUR PRESENCE WAS SORELY FELT AND MISSED...but somehow I know you were there with us IN SPIRIT. I just want to remind you YOU ARE LOVED !!!!

Let''s all start planning and saving $ now to be at Mike Dpuglas's next year in Texas. Mike how about an evening campfire "Sing Along" type event ...TV song themes, Church Songs, and Oldies...Do we have some folks that couold bring their guitars? What does everyone else think about it?

Thanks for making this Thread available whoever is managing it! Melinda (Mel)
9-19-09 .... Wow... I did it... Cool !

Hey, does anyone have a favorite holdiday receipe that they make every year - or are asked to bring every year to gatherings - that they would be willing to share with me?

Becky Markey (Smith)

Do you need a main dish or dessert?

Donna,

GREAT IDEA for a topic in the User Forum - Favorite Holiday Recipes. From what I read, Becky seemed to indicate that we are going to be able to continue the website here and share!

I'd love to post some recipes now but I think it would bore the guys.

Love to bake and cook over the holidays and usually give baked goods as gifts. (or homemade jams, I grow blackberries in my backyard).

Will post some later when I have more time! Hopefully over at the User Forum.

Good idea Margo - I will add it to the user forums - although I bet there are many guys out there that love to cook also and have grat receipes.

Becky - I was thinking side dishes and desserts, because my mom always does the main dish. But, ther may be others who would like main dish receipes. I will start this on the user forum per Margo's suggestion.

Sharing recipes is a great idea, Donna. You always come up with good ideas. When I have a little more time I will post one. I'm always looking for really easy and fast recipes that don't take a lot of ingredients or preparation. I really miss all of you and had so much fun at the reunion. I have been thinking of everyone a lot lately and wish we could have more time together.

TO MY "69" CLASSMATES.I WAS JUST WORKING LATE TONITE AND I THOUGHT I'D CHECK-UP ON THE WEBSITE TO SEE WHAT'S NEW, BUT SADLY IT SEEMS EVERYBODY WENT BACK TO OUR ROUTINE OF MAKING A LIVING AS WE MUST. I JUST WANT TO SAY HELLO TO YOU ALL AND I STILL THINK ALOT ABOUT OUR RE-UNION AND EVERYBODY I SAW. I HOPE TO SEE SOMEBODY IN TEHACHAPI NX TIME I GO TO VISIT MY BRO. EVERYBODY TAKE CARE AND DON'T LOSE THE MEMORIES. LOVE YOU ALL ELI!

Donna,

I posted a recipe over in the User Forum. I love to cook but I don't have anything "tried and true". They have all been "tried" but they weren't all "true". I don't think I've ever made anything the exact same way twice. I love to experiment. I do a lot of baking, breads, cookies, candies, etc. but it sounds like you are looking for side dishes. Have a carrot soup recipe if you'd like it and a nice cranberry relish recipe.

Can't believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. Wow!

Everyone, please take a moment and look at Margo's receipe that she posted on the user forum. It is a keeper!
Margo, a really good dessert receipe would be nice as I have been put in charge of desserts this Thanksgiving instead of side dishes. Anything you expecially recommend? Thanks.

OK - I finally figured out how to get some of these pictures to upload. Will begin to do so.

Hi Everyone,
Almost Thanksgiving - the holidays are upon us - already!! As I think back over the year (and they do go by faster, don't they?) a blessing has been to reconnect with childhood friends and forge new adult friendships.
Many blessings to you all this Thanksgiving, may your tables be filled with laughter and love. Travel safe and enjoy..
Carrie
