My Father worked for Detroit Edison and was transferred to Troy, MI in 1978. My parents moved there in June '79 and after going K-11th grade in Trenton (and my Mother teaching in Trenton from 1951 through 1979), I ended up graduating from Troy Athens High School.
I started work as a professional photographer doing weddings and commercial jobs and in September of 1989 I married a girl from Grosse Point Farms. We had 2 children in Michigan and then decided to move to Gatlinburg, TN and had our 3rd child.
In 1998 I built and opened a photographic gallery/studio doing primarily landscape photography in and around the Smoky Mountains National Park. The second floor of the gallery building was set up to be a British Tavern, and after a divorce in 2002 the Tavern became the primary source of income for the family.
I am in the process of opening a small brewery and a distillery on the property adjacent to the Tavern building, and I still occasionally do photographic work.
I am involved with a number of local charities and participate with the city of Gatlinburg on a number of boards and committees.
Funny...Mr. Adler letting me play Steve Martin's album in class, until the foul language began.
Accidentally blowing up an electrical junction box in a hallway with Mark Napolitan.
20 guys playing hockey in the band hallway with our feet and a wooden puck.
A bunch of kids getting in trouble for stocking a school bus full of liquor on a band trip.
Not funny really...but R.K. Bryant asked me to be the M.C. of the Homecoming event in 1980, but as we were in the process of moving to Troy, I was unable to accept. Probably the only guy to ever decline the opportunity.
