I remember when we were seniors, I asked George to the Sadie Hawkins Dance about 9 months before the actual dance :-). Always had a crush on him. So kind....God bless Debbie, his children and grandchildren.
George and I were great friends. During high school, we spent many times crusing the avenue, jumping on their trampolean, and general foolery around "The Alamo". After high school I would visit him during my military stay in Gainsville. Recently, I visited George and Debbie to catch up on things. As always, visiting with George brought back many fond memories. He will be greatly missed! Rest in peace, my friend!
Everyone knew George would be successful at whatever he tried. Sounds like he lived a full, albeit somewhat short life and was loved by many. A good guy gone too soon. Jack & Susie Forsythe
It saddens me to know that George Lewis has passed away at the age of 68. He was a good person and I'm sure a very good man. I got to know George when he sat next to me in high school. He was so nice and genuine. He and I goofed around on occasions, I loved jumping on his trampoline. My heart breaks for his wife Debbie their children and his grandchildren. 68 is still too young for a good person to pass. Sounds like he had a wonderful marriage and a full life which he definitely deserved. My prayers are with his family...
I am so sorry to hear of Gorge's passing! I had always had great respect for George! I remember the trampoline as well. I remember a trip to Gainsville when George was going to school and working at a Pizza parlor. He prepred a pizza for Rod Harper and I with every topping they had, every topping, including anchovies!!!
So many are leaving us as time drifts by. Sad to hear of this one! Hope his family has peace in the days to come!
I had to look back at his profile picture from school to recognize him. I am so very sorry, he was a really, really nice guy. My sympathy to his family.
