All- Jim Shoulders was from Henryetta. It is home to two former World Champion Cowboys. The other one was Troy Aikman.

I thought Troy Aikman was a football player.

Also, I want to go back to Steve not liking to ride horses. I need to put up one of my show horses so you can see what a great horse looks like.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Rhea- Troy Aikman was a world champion football player for the Dallas 'Cowboys'. Get it? Riding horses for me usually involved 'work'. I did not do much 'pleasure riding'. There were those summer days when Russell and I would spend all day just riding around our place. Those days were fun.

Judy- Remember 'Golddigger'? Wasn't that the name of the little shetland quarter horse mix? We had her one summer at our place.

Rhea- I would love to see pictures of your show horses.

Rhea- Do you still have your horses?

Judith Ann Postier

Steve- Yes, I remember "Goldie!" Granddad Chaney gave her to Paulann and we kept her all those years. She was so stubborn! When I was probably 4 years old, I was riding her out by the barn and she would stop and go at her own will. This really aggravated Daddy, so he walked up behind us and hit her over the rump with a 5ft length of galvanized pipe. Goldie jumped and did I get a surprise! I didn't fall off, but I think I got more of a start than the horse! When Patricia and I were old enough to handle her, we rode her everywhere whether she wanted to go or not. We raised several colts off of her.

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

STEVE- SORRY, NO! THE BOOK WILL HAVE TO WAIT. I HAVE BRONCHITIS AND THE WAY MY HEAD IS RIGHT NOW THE BOOK WOULDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. IT WOULD BE ALOT OF WORK TO COMPILE ALL THE STORIES, BUT IT WOULD BE FUN TO READ.
EVERYONE HAVE A BLESSED RESURRECTION SUNDAY!!!!

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

STEVE- HOW WAS YOUR EASTER SERVICE? MINE WAS GOOD. WE JUST HAVE A SMALL CHURCH BUT WE HAD OUR EASTER CANTATA AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.THERE IS ONLY ABOUT 10 IN OUR CHOIR BUT THEY DID A GREAT JOB. HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL DAY.I BET YOU HAD FUN HIDING EASTER EGGS FOR THOSE GRANDKIDS.

04/13/09 12:05 PM #333

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Lavanna- Yes, our Easter Service was great. The men of the church hosted a breakfast of sausage, pancakes, and fruit, for about 200 people. The weather was cold and rainy so it put a damper on the outside Easter egg hunts. I did get to play with the grandkids and that was fun.

Jan- Has the penicillin not kicked in yet?

Rhea- Where are your pictures of the 'good looking' horses?

Carla- What did Bill think of the Master's?

Mary Ann- I would be willing to come up to Bartlesville and screw up your telephone and computer wiring for a very exorbitant fee.

Bruce- On the course today?

Gene- Where have you been? Out looking for a '53 Ford for under $100? Not going to find it.

Judy- What was the coach's name that helped with Jr. High football and Sr. High track? I think he bought the Quick-Trip that Chris Carter now owns. Reed maybe?

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Thank you Steve, but it is not at all necessary for anyone to make a trip to mess up my computer, I have a proven track record that I am well able to do that myself! Ask my family!
Here is a beginning of the week story....For all the Will Roger kids - do you remember the 5th grade teacher, Mrs Waldrop? Well, I think she was a Miss, but another well endowed teacher. One day a large strand of pop beads broke and went down her blouse. She very methodically pulled them out, one by one, as the entire class attempted to stifle a laugh. It took awhile, as it seemed that large strand of beads was very well buried. But that's not the story. My sister, class of 57, had Miss Waldrop in the days of "dickies". For those of you wondering,(and I know you are) a "dickie" was a fake turtle neck top - the neck only with no sweater attached. Miss Waldrop got hot one day in class and removed her jacket, without realizing she only had the dickie on underneath! She never missed a beat - as soon as she realized there was a slight breeze, where none should be, she simply slipped the jacket back on as she kept talking.
I need to get some things done, but even if you didn't have her as a teacher, I thought this might bring a chuckle tonight!

Are you talking about the coach who had Coach's Corner for awhile. He always had the girls sit on the front row of Driver's Ed. Can't think of his name.
I liked Coach Blevins - he was a good sport (at least with me). I was bored one time in OK History and at the sight of Vinnie Ream, felt an artistic urge arise. I drew a detailed picture of Coach Blevins in a pink tutu, in a ballerina pose, one arm curved gracefully over his head, missing fingers and all. Someone showed him the picture. He called me forward. As I slowly approached my sentencing,I knew I was about to experience my own personal OK History. He asked if I drew it. (I said that Bill did - no, I didn't think that quickly). He studied it for a long time, smiled and handed it back to me. Whew...........

Mary Ann- I only charge $650 an hour, but I would consider doing it for a few dollars an hour less if you buy me lunch at Dink's.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Mary Ann- Coach Eddy taught Driver's Ed. He was one of the best coaches ever. Did you ever read 'Bleachers' by Grisham? That was coach Eddy. There was nothing that went on in Vinita that he did not know about. He went on to coach at Broken Arrow (who we beat when we were seniors) then to Tulsa Memorial High School where he won a state championship.

04/13/09 11:55 PM #338

Judith Ann Postier

Steve- Was it Fred Bruce?

When Matt coached at Memorial he found out who Coach Eddy was and our connection and was quite impressed by such a cool fact.

I loved having Coach Eddy in Driver's Ed. We had a blast in that class my junior year. Don Bowen (sophomore) was in my Driver's Ed class and Coach gave him hell teasing him about cruising the streets in his "falcoon."

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Judy- I don't think so. He left Vinita and was an administrator at the Afton Vo-Tech school. He was from Muskogee.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Judy- Have you talked to Jan?

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

I REMEMBER WE WERE GOING TO AN OUT OF TOWN GAME AND COACH EDDY WAS TRAVELING BEHIND THE BUS AND WHEN WE GOT TO A CURVE WITH A DOUBLE LINE COACH EDDY PASSED THE BUS, AND HE'S A DRIVER'S ED. TEACHER. WE REALLY RAZZED HIM THE NEXT TIME WE SAW HIM. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT.
STEVE-I'M STILL NOT FEELING WELL, I CANNOT QUIT COUGHING AND I JUST FEEL YUCKY!!!! I'VE GOT A DRS. APPT. ON THURSDAY HOPEFULLY SHE CAN GIVE ME SOME MIRACLE DRUG TO GET OVER THIS.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Sorry...I have been unavailable due to Easter activities at church and with my grandson! We had eggs to dye and cookies to decorate! We had a blast!! I had 12 people for Easter dinner including my 86 year old daddy. I love to have them all around.
Rhea-Yes, Jim Shoulders held many All-Around Cowboy titles. He held that until Larry Mahan passed him. He was a great man. He passed away last year from kidney cancer. He use to have the stock for the Miami and the Vinita Rodeos.
Steve-Bill was not happy with the Masters. First of all he was glued to it for all four days! He is a huge Tiger Woods fan and wanted him to win. If Tiger didn't win he wanted Chad Campbell to win. Chad is a big LHS golf supporter and Bill has played with him out at Bridlewood. He just moved to Colleyville...but he still supports our team. His third choice was Perry...who blew it! He says if you need and interperter in the press conference and jacket ceremony...you should not get to win the Masters!
Did Phyliss go psycho or what? I could not believe! I hope Sharon and Nick get back together!

Lavanna-When my husband coached in Oklahoma we use to see Coach Eddy and Coach Blevins every year at Coaching Clinic! They are two great guys! They told my husband many tales about me in high school! Like the time I had to dance and sing Jingle Bells in Oklahoma History for passing a note in class! (I also had to read the note out loud!) I also ran into Coach Johnson here at a mall in Lewisville several years back! He lived in Carrolton. He had a new younger wife who was from Vinita.
Steve-Was it Coach Kinder? Or was it the one that taught drivers Ed after Coach Eddy left. I think he wore glasses. I can see his face but can't think of his name. I will look in my yearbook when I get home.
