Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Paul-I can't thank you enough for the two videos! They were awesome! I cried looking at both of them! You are really talented! It made me feel so good! I am so glad you all had a good time! I thought of you guys all weekend! I wanted to be there in the worst way!

Steve-Bill is doing great! He felt bad that it kept me from going...but on Friday I woke up with a sinus infection! I had to go to the Dr. and get a shot. We will try to see you and Susan when we come to Owasso sometime! You and Bill can play golf!

Carla - taking care of yourself and your husband is much more important than gadding about with a bunch of soon to be senior citizens...;) I hope you're feeling better and I really did miss seeing you. I have one more video to add. It's a slide show of the photos that I took at the reunion. I need to add names so that you can tell who everyone is. Personally, I would have never recognized Bill Kolb or Johnny Morgan if I bumped into them on the street. Some people like Judy, Mary Ann and Jan just never change.

Hi everyone! WOW! I just viewed the videos and wish I could have been there with all of you! Thank you Paul for doing the photography so we could all enjoy. I don't think my memory is too good because there are many of you that I don't recognize...I think I would need nametags in BIG letters. Ha!
I'm also sorry I didn't get to give you all my "surprise". Judy and I had worked out, that I would surprise everyone with an impersonation that I have done at many conventions in the past few years. I'm not going to tell you what I do, but will save it until next time we get to meet...if I can still do it that is.
Rodger is doing better this week but is still on antibiotics. One week can make a big difference but that is the way it goes. When is the next reunion???? ~ Rhea

Hey, who's the guy in the PINK shirt???

07/28/09 06:23 PM #848

Paul Ray Wever

Rhea - that had to be either me or Steve. Didn't you recognize him?

07/28/09 07:09 PM #849

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Rhea- Did you mean the REALLY good looking guy in the pink shirt??? That would be Paul Wever. He went to school with us and now lives out in San Francisco. He is also a very talented photographer.

07/28/09 07:26 PM #850

Paul Ray Wever

Rhea - Steve is being incredibly modest and is stretching the truth a wee bit.

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

RHEA- I AGREE WITH YOU THERE WERE ALOT I DIDN'T RECOGNIZE AND I TOO WOULD NEED LARGE NAME TAGS. THE ONLY ONES I RECOGNIZED (AND THAT IS ONLY BECAUSE OF SEEING THEIR PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE) IS BRUCE, STEVE, JUDY,CONNIE,FRANCES AND I THINK MARY ANN. BUT I DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE WHO THE REST OF THEM WERE. I HOPE SOMEONE PUTS NAMES TO THE FACES.

07/28/09 07:44 PM #852

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

SORRY PAUL I LEFT YOU OUT I RECOGNIZED YOU TOO.

07/28/09 07:44 PM #853

Rhea Joyce Freeman (Weaver)

Paul - he always "was" and "did"...as in stretch the truth.

Bruce Evans

Lavanna, I cannot believe you did not recognize Daisy Brown. You better take another look. She is the girl between the guy in the green shirt (her husband Rex Moorhead) and Frances Hightower Johnson Peetoom. Charlie and Tricia "Fimple" VonSchriltz are also in that picture.

Paul, these videos are great; I just wish you would have caught my speech.
Charley Remund came up to me later in the evening and quoted a speech, he said, Chuck Donaldson gave at our graduation. It was the exact same theme as my speech and kinda freaked me out. A very serendipitous coincidence if I do say so myself.

07/28/09 08:35 PM #856

Paul Ray Wever

Bruce - you're absolutely right, I should have captured it on tape. But I did get pictures of you giving it.

07/28/09 09:15 PM #857

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

BRUCE- I WENT BACK AND TOOK ANOTHER LOOK, BUT AFTER NOT SEEING SOMEONE FOR 40 YEARS, I STILL DIDN'T REOGNIZE HER. I IMAGINE, IF I WALKED INTO A ROOM WITH NO ONE HAVE SEEN MY PICTURE, THEY WOULDN'T RECOGNIZE ME EITHER.
SORRY I MISSED YOUR SPEECH, I BET IT WAS A GOOD ONE.

STEVE- DID YOU GIVE OVER THE PICTURE TAKING TO PAUL? HE IS AN EXCELLENT PHOTOGRAPHER.

Thanks Paul for enhancing this website with the pictures and videos. That just puts the icing on the cake. I am so thankful you took the time to take the photographs and videos, as I didn't have the time, and I worried that we wouldn't have a good variety of photographs to mark this reunion. Your video of the town is priceless! I love it. Wish we had one from 1969 to compare to.

07/29/09 11:17 AM #859

Paul Ray Wever

My video of the town was actually an ode to the memory of what it was when we were growing up and was an attempt to freeze in time the memory of what Vinita is right now. Times change, memories fade, or we remember things as we perceived them at the time. The song on the video was a reflection of the sadness at the changes that have occurred. I hope you enjoy it.

Paul - I did cry when I viewed the Our Town video. Thanks for making it so special. ~ Rhea

Steve - Saw the new pics. How come you don't show Wayne putting?

07/29/09 04:22 PM #863

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Paul- If I were to post a picture of Wayne 'putting' it would make everyone cry. It is sooo scary that nobody would ever visit the website again.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Paul- What a nice tribute to our class. I have to agree with Judy, this is the icing on the cake. Thank you SO much for all of the photography. It has really enhanced the overall reunion experience.

P.S. It was Barbara McMurtry not Barbara Jeans.

07/29/09 11:12 PM #866

Judith Ann Postier

Steve- Barbara McMurtrey is Barbara Jeans. When she got her SS# and driver's license, she had to use her real last name. Even tho Mickey McMurtrey was her stepdad, "he was her real DAD," if you know what I mean.

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Paul - This is the first time that I have been back on the forum, since the reunion. I am amazed! Thank you so much for capturing a moment in time, of our lives. What a talent and what a contribution!
All - I had so much fun and only wished that I could have spent more time with each of you. Some,I barely got to speak to - I should have allocated the time better. But it was just so good to see each of you again!
Bruce - I don't remember the exact words that you spoke (and would like to "see" them) - but I got the gist of it. You made a very fitting description of our early lives together. We did indeed do life together, during a very special season. Thank you.

07/29/09 11:55 PM #868

Paul Ray Wever

All - I'm glad you like my rather rough videos. The original intent was to capture a moment in the present. My memory was full of the wonderful pictures of the life that was Vinita in the 60's. The people, the town, Vinita High School. Time has moved on, the memories, good and bad are still there - but grown soft around the edges, if you know what I mean. I hope that my little videos will help you save a couple of evenings in your life when only the good memories of 1969 Vinita High School mattered.
