Kris Bowers (Theisen)

Dymale -

Why does that not surprise me that you were out drinking with my two brothers.

The reunion is getting close. It will be here before you know it. Spread the word.

Now I know I'm getting old when I'm going to graduation parties for my nieces, nephews & friends' kids & my children are only 8 months & 3 years old.

I know - you are only as old as you let yourself feel.

Happy Saturday to all!!! I hope the rain holds out.

Paula -

Thanks so much for setting up the reunion details. I just registered today. Check is in the mail!

I waited till the last minute, sorry! I just secured child care, in laws in Grafton, but need still need to get puppy care. My new baby, a 12 week old springer spaniel, needs a puppy sitter.

Kristina Smithers-

I would love to see you at the reunion! I bet you turned out great! You're heart was always in the right place. I think my younger brother had a crush on you. He still talks about you.

Dymale -

I remember Deanna K. wow that was ages ago! Tell her hi from me!

Got to go, this stimulus is overwhelming at work right now. Lots of roads and bridges to build!

Hey Paula-

I know you were looking at numbers...I know a couple people who are going who are not officially registered...Kelsey Kirsch, Kate Erne Kleinmann and Sarah Schneider Peters. I will make sure they get their tickets or I will get tickets for them! I am so excited to see people. Reading everyone's updates reminds me of why I love being from a small town in the Midwest. GOOD people...while I may not have known everyone really well in HS, seeing their profiiles, I wish I would have gotten to know them better and it's never too late. Look forward to the 22nd!

Lisa Albert (Wallner)

I heard Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes" and the Femmes "Blister in the Sun" back-to-back on the radio the other day. *siiigh* the 80's..

Paula Luepnitz (Carlton)

Hello! getting closer! Thanks Elaine for the heads up. I understand the last minute stuff! Right now, we are just hoping to get some final numbers so we can decide about drinks, band, etc...thanks to Donny for the video. I'll look through some stuff, I was cleaning the other day and found what seemed to be a hangover picture of Heidi, Carrie, and Michelle...nice ladies!

07/29/09 02:56 PM #326

Carrie Hedemann (Randall)

I am certain that would not be a hangover picture of us in highschool, since the drinking age was 21! Maybe we were just tired???

Lisa Albert (Wallner)

You must've been exhausted from all sorts of studying, I'm sure. :o)

OK folks ya got me, I signed up yesteday. By the way I onlt asked for ONE good reason, sheesh. So now the question is... So since I moved back from Cali to take care of my 78 year old mother and she would not be the best company at a 20 year reunion..... Is anyone else going stag to this thing?
By the way I did find 2 class pictures from Decorah. 1st grade with Mrs. Placzek 77-78 may I add several of you have some lovely huge collars. However, I think DeAnn Mundinger takes the gold. Kurt Opelt a close 2nd with his dress shirt and power blue sport coat.
4th grade with Mr. Sobczak 80 - 81. From the updated photos on here I nominate Wendy Fisher as the one least changed.
Wendy Fisher.. Do any of you remember when the old metal slide was still there? Before school every morning we would play tag on that thing. The only thing I remember was there were a bunch of trying to get down so we would not be tagged. Everyone was pushing everyone else. I remember seeing Wendy fall and hit the ground. I jumped off from the top and ran in to get the principal Mr. Engstad. The ambulance came and took her to the hospital. We found out that she has sustained a minor concussion. I think the everyone was so shocked I did something good or nice that I got student of the week because Wendy nominated me. I never forgot that.
And Brenda Massie, wasn't your mom co leader of Brownies with Mrs. Wheaton? I remember that your older brother Lance had been taunting me all day at school and while we were outside doing Brownie stuff he rode by on his bike and called me a name. I picked up a rock (not a big one) threw it at him, made contact (I may have had crappy grades but I was athletic, fast and had great aim) and he fell off his bike and started crying. Beedless to say, that my mom got a call that night and I was no longer a Brownie. :(
Oh the stories I could tell...

Kristina, the things we remember are certainly crazy. My memory is horrible but I manage to retain some seemingly unmemorable events.
You definitely won't be the only one going alone. My engagement came to a crashing halt a few months ago, so I'll be going solo. I've talked to others that will be stepping out on their own as well.

Christi Kleinke (Dorn)

Hi Paula,
My hubby Mike and I will be coming after all, considering he will most likely be part of the entertainment that night! Thanks for considering Dan Fellenz and his band...that's so cool! (My mom is going up north for her birthday anyways, so now we are able to make it!)

I am not officially registered yet, but I did send you an e-mail question at your work. I will be able to register after you respond to that!

Thanks,
Christi (Kleinke) Walker

Okay, so how formal or actually dressy is this thing?

08/04/09 01:09 PM #332

Paula Luepnitz (Carlton)

Hey this is our 20 yr reunion. Come as you wish to be, come as who you are- if you like jeans, wear jeans, if you like your prom dress and can still fit into it, go for it. Or anything in between!

08/04/09 03:40 PM #333

Lisa Ellingboe (Anguiano)

lol, I wish I could still fit into my prom dress!!! I gues it'll be something in between

08/04/09 06:50 PM #334

Eddie Bowers

08/04/09 06:51 PM #335

Eddie Bowers

08/04/09 10:40 PM #336

Kristina Smithers

08/04/09 10:42 PM #337

Kristina Smithers

Lisa,
We have got to get together. Whats your time like, 3 kids. let me answer that. NONE! HA! I called the number you gave a while ago and left a message. You will not believe who I ran into a week or so again. When I say her name you will remember. It was an adult we both knew. Blast from the past. Take a gander at it...

08/05/09 08:46 AM #338

Lisa Ellingboe (Anguiano)

Kristina, we do have to get together. Let me guess, Ellen Gummm? Or don't tell me that old crossing guard by Badger who used to yell at me all the time!lol! Why aren't you wearing a cute little dress girl?

08/05/09 11:07 AM #339

Lisa Ellingboe (Anguiano)

Oh yea, Kristina, I forgot, Andy (Baizley) wants to contact you to appoligize for something he did to you back in 6th grade!

08/05/09 02:43 PM #340

Brenda Massie (Schoenfeld)

Yes Kristina my mom was a Brownie leader. I remember Lance getting hit by the rock and blood everywhere on the lawn in front of Decorah school. I didn't remember that you got him. He was good at teasing. I thought it was just me that he tourtured! LOL

08/05/09 09:52 PM #341

Kris Bowers (Theisen)

I remember Student of the Week. Boy does that take me back to Decorah School days. I wonder if they still have that?

**Lisa - do they still have that at Decorah? Just curious (LOL)

Can anyone tell me more about this bar called "Pillars"? What kind of bar is it? Is there music/food/etc???? Just wondering?

08/06/09 09:31 AM #343

Lisa Schramm (Rosbeck)

Decorah still has a similar program ... it's called the B.U.G. program (being unusually good). Even has a catchy little theme song that goes with it ... and once that's stuck in your head ... right DeAnn and Kris G?

Looking forward to seeing everybody too in a couple of weeks!
