Bio:
After 32 years here, I'm still a ski bum in Aspen, Colorado, and have worked at the city-owned historic Wheeler Opera House for 15 years as a bartender. I'm also a landlady, an environmental pilot for LightHawk and EcoFlight, and a search pilot for Pitkin County Air Rescue; I sell Haystack Mt Goat Cheese at our weekly downtown Farmer's Market from June through Oct., volunteer at the Aspen Music Festival every summer, exercise horses a few days a week in the summer and fall, and for about 10 years I was a Victorian-costumed walking tour guide for the Aspen Historical Society. In my past life I was a TV weather-lady in Aspen (1985-87) and Springfield, Mass. (1974-76.)
My main passions are still skiing. especially powder, and flying (single-engine airplanes and hang gliders.) I also love to play tennis, rollerblade, scuba dive, hike, water-ski, perform in community theatre and spend time with my wonderful dog, Taffy.
Fast forward 13 years: it's now 2022, and I survived the pandemic, retired from bartending, am in a wonderful 6-year relationship with Ian, a Canadian former ski racer whom I've known for decades, have now had my pilot's license for FIFTY YEARS and am still a ski bum and loving life in Aspen, Colorado. I've taken up some new sports, including stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking the local rivers (in our inflatables) and dirt-biking (yes, a motorcycle!! I took my first lesson at age 65 and now have a Kawasaki 140L.) I'm also loving my Class 1 e-mountain bike. And I still have my rental house (my most fun investment ever) in Draper, Utah. I try to go there at least once a month, where I stay in my little apartment that I created in the basement.
My beautiful dog Taffy passed away in 2020, at age 17, and I still miss her every day. I'm not ready to get another dog yet, (if ever,) as I'm enjoying traveling. Ian and I have had several wonderful adventures in his Sprinter van, including a 3-week IKON Pass road trip this past February - March. We skied 15 days at 12 areas in 3 states and 2 provinces! We camped in the van most nights, but also stayed with some of his old ski racing buddies from Ontario, who also moved west (to British Columbia) years ago.
I'm very thankful every day for my good health, my wonderful friends, and my great life. And I'm really looking forward to our reunion!
