I'm waiting on a wallet makeover...

I mean, it's empty, then they make it full...

David Emmons

Pictures, not a bad idea... no reason just haven't placed any up there yet... maybe I really do not exist, and am just 'big brother' watching all of you from above..

I sort of like the anonymity :-)

Maybe the scars are healing, why not! I have been of accused of having my stomach stapled, because I lost 100 pounds in the last 18 months and this person could not believe I did it by diet and exercise, however I never saw them at the 'Y' while I was swimming those hundreds of miles in the last 18 months... and NO it had nothing to do with the reunion (just a side benefit), I hate needles and do not want to be on insulin... and now I am not even on meds...yes I have/had diabetes, thanks Dad :-)

It is amazing what happens when you get off your hind end and find a stop button for eating... I will get them out there soon, it will probably be my wife and kids though and keep all of you guessing................is he bald?, totally gray? still weigh 340 pounds....and maybe I will just remain the 'magical' email and message from the web site....this is fun :-)

And any one wants a makeover I can hook you up...Meet me at the 'Y', morning, lunch and night... take your pick I am usually there swimming (you will know me by the 'jammers' (NO 'Grape Smugglers' for Dave) and swim fins... does that narrow it down ;-)

Dave our secret is safe...Will stop by soon..Taking my boys and my sisters boys fishing tomorrow... If you know how to clean fish we might stop by tomorrow(ha ha) Still can't get past the visual of Gina in her thinking position......I don't think she can get far from there or else she wouldn't know what to say!!!!!!!

Dave I am learning in my old age that what is important is having a good heart. Sometimes what we see on the outside can be very misleading. There is nothing tougher then trying to keep our bodies healthy. I love chocolate and I have to walk it off daily. I'm happy for you and your determination to lose weight. Keep up the good work. I'll bet that 90% of us will be dieting before the reunion.

Gina Valentine (Stevens)

Okie and dokie... everybody go look at Dave's profile... his picture is there and he seems to have forgotten where he put most of his body. woo hoo...

Now... if only I knew how to swim so I too could be as hot as The Dave.

and for those of you having visuals of me in the thinking position... I hope your olfactory sensors kick in high gear for the big finale!

06/16/08 02:20 AM #437

David Emmons

Loretta, we are not old... our parents are old and the teachers we had in school are old, we are in our prime....

And, Loretta and Gina, thanks to both of you and I have one more thing ===> go to bed.... don't you have bed times? .... Good night all!

06/16/08 06:53 AM #438

Terri Duncan (McDonald)

And to think I was sleeping when there was a on-line party going on. Once again, I miss out, :)

Dave, thanks for the pics, and kudos to you on the weight loss! I say to myself everyday, today is the day I go back to the gym, or at the very least, go on a walk, but so sad that day has yet to come. I don't know what the hold up is, but it better get here soon.

Gina, don't worry about me having that visual...olfactory or otherwise, :)

I vote Dave as Mr. Popular or Mr. GQ of the message forum. What a STUD MUFFIN!!!!

Hey Loretta, some of us have already started the diets. I've lost 20lbs since Jan. 2nd. It would have been more but I tend to consume more beer during the summer. OK, I drink a lot of beer during the summer.

Hey Dave, Lori said she was out in the street looking for her cat the other night and you stopped to say Hi. She came back in laughing and because you caught her in her pajammas. :-) Her cats been gone for over two weeks now. :-(

Hey ya'll, I saw John Slade in the mall Saturday and gave him a bunch of reunion info cards to pass out and I also stopped by the Grafton Fire Station and gave some cards to Ted Combs. John and I talked a little about Donald Smith. We should keep Donald in our prayers (health concerns).

Dave, I saw your pictures and I know Theresa. Your wife is a very special person. Your a lucky guy. I bring injured wild animals to the EVC often. I work for the city of Newport News Parks at Newport News Park. Because I work in the park I get to hike the trails daily. Tell Theresa I said hello.

06/16/08 12:06 PM #441

Gina Valentine (Stevens)

Oh wow! John Slade, Ted Combs! What wonderful names I haven't heard in a while.

Ted works for the fire dept? I didn't know that.

Karen Hunt (Jones)

I do want to thank the reunion committee for giving me an entire year to lose the same 30 pounds I lost before the last reunion.

I have looked at everyone's profiles (you all have beautiful children!) and was amazed at the party scene in high school. I was totally clueless. Would you say that parties then are the same as for our kids now? Better or worse or nothing new under the sun?

I called Clyde Forrest and gave him the website address. I hope he'll join up.

Last question: Tommy Rowe (THS78) and Cheryl Rowe (she went to high school with us but graduated from Poquoson) married and one of their children was physically disabled. Tammy Jones (ended up moving to Poquoson) had one child who was severely disabled and my husband and my fourth daughter was born with a heart defect and tuberous sclerosis. Tommy, Cheryl and I all went to Grafton Bethel. When our kids were little we wondered if environment had anything to do with us all having kids with special needs. Was anyone else from GBE similarly affected? Just curious--not suing.

Karen Hunt (Jones)

I misspoke. "My husband and I had a fourth daughter who was..." I think my husband is okay.

06/16/08 01:35 PM #444

David Emmons

Loretta, I told Theresa you said 'Hi' and she almost fell out. And now she is looking forward the reunion even more, because as she puts it, "I have one more person I can talk to". And Thank you, I know I am lucky... 18 Years today.

Lou, I thought she had found here cat, she said it was on the other side of the road. At first I thought you were talking about Lori Ann and not your Lori. I started to think the Lori Ann had some big problems if she didn't recognize me :-)

06/16/08 02:03 PM #445

Louie Luongo

Dave (GQ), It wasn't our cat. Lori Ann is Lori Ann and Lori is Lori (my wife of almost 11 years)... Sorry for the confusion, but I don't think Lori Ann would be in the middle of my street in her pajammas.... although it would probably make for a great story.

06/16/08 03:16 PM #446

David Emmons

Depends on the the red wine she (Lori Ann) was drinking :-)

06/16/08 03:47 PM #447

Lori Ann Ritchie

Ok.. that's enough.. you can't tell all my secrets. That is only among the committee members!! But Dave.. 30 years ago.. it could have been me in front of Lou's house..
I have to tell everyone what Lou and Dave told me. I was talking just like everyone else about having a year and a half to loose weight & some nip and tuck.. I asked Lou and Dave "Do you think I should get my eyes done" Both of them said, "Naa.. get your boobs done and no one will notice your eyes".. Now that's my boys!!!
Hey Mike.. I was thinking about you the other day when I saw a car riding down the rode w/smoke bellowing from the tail pipe.. do you remember changing the oil in my Pinto??

06/16/08 06:49 PM #448

Mike Foretich

Lori I DID NOT CHANGE THE OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was Rick Brinson but I WAS there.
I think he had a crush on you because he said he wanted to do it.....I assumed he knew what he was doing!
It was still funny as hell though... I didnt know a Pinto could hold 10 quarts oil.
He was so proud of his self..
What did you two have going on? He acted like it was his car!!!!!!
I miss seeing him.. He was a blast. Ihope I can track him down in Florida.
Lori Do you know my cousin Scott from the yacht club?

Gina I'll get some clothes pins then we will have a minsae meeting at your house!

Gina Valentine (Stevens)

What the devil is a minsae???

06/16/08 08:37 PM #451

David Emmons

Lori Ann, have you gotten the 'boob job' done yet, I just assumed that is what you were doing in Venice. And I know I am getting a little older but I could have sworn your Doctor told you that and Louie and I just sort of looked down and agreed..... ;-)

06/16/08 08:55 PM #452

Mike Foretich

Greetings Everyone! It is great reading the forum, and getting to know more about many of you whom I only knew from passing in the hallways, being in the same class once or twice over the years at Tabb.

Dave - What an inspiration! I have been diabetic since 1994--type one, just out of no where, and have had to take shots daily since then. Insulin allows you to cheat a bit, as long as you know how to adjust the dosage to compensate for what you're about to eat. I was on the verge of face-slamming a donut this morning, but after reading your weight loss entry--decided it is time to shape up. Like others, I appreciate the year's notice to work on the horizons that I have broadened in the past few years. I appreciate the encouragement. Please keep up the great work on the web site--thanks for all of your hard work for the rest of us.

Lori Ann - Welcome back from Venice! I was there just for a day trip while working in Milan. It's not exactly the yacht club, but boats and water work for a country boy like me. By the way, I got pinched while I was there, too.

I am thoroughly enjoying everyone's conversations back and forth. As many of you share your stories, I am reminded of great times. You all paint great visual images by what you share. I will always think differently now about "the Thinker," or perhaps it should be called "the Stinker"??

Happy belated Father's day to all of you Dads out there!

Ken
