Status Update

Secure Connection Error - Check this list for tips.

We recently received updated server root certificates that are occasionally sent by the certificate providers. It is possible some users have a cached/saved connection to the old root certificate as all certificates are verified by verifying the server/root certificate chain as well.

The update of the root server certificates is rare - it sounds like a few users systems may need to make sure they are pulling the most current certificates.

There are several ways their system can cache/save the connection

1. Locally in their browser which would be corrected by resetting their browser
2. Locally on their machine which would be corrected by rebooting their computer
3. Routers sometimes cache sites you visited recently or often and can take anywhere from a few hours to 48 hours to update on their own - in rare cases the user may need to unplug their internet router for 1 full minute and then reboot their computer and try again - this should clear all prior connections.

On some systems if their clock is off it will cause errors so you may want to have them check to make certain their clock is correct.

I just ran tests on every certificate on the server and all of them are valid and using the correct root certificates so everyone should be able to pull the most current certificates as long as their system isn't caching the old one.

They may also want to double check to make sure their web browsers are up-to-date while they are at it as some users do not auto-update their web browsers and they should be updated to keep up with security updates.
