My first week at Rhein Main AB I was walking across a field and stopped to watch the fire department practicing fighting fires on some old buildings that were scheduled to be torn down. I thing it was a Ops buildings, anyway the fire got out of hand that they had a huge fire and had to call for help from the Germans. I think it was the fire department from the Airport that came and helped them put it out. I think it was 1984.
