Ezell Eaddy, Sr. was born February 18, 1947 in Olanta, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Liston Eaddy and Vera Mae Hickson.  

He was a 1967 graduate of C.A. Johnson High School. He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1990, retiring honorably with the rank of Sergeant First Class. While in the military, he served in various capacities, including a lab technician, Platoon Sergeant, a tanker, Retention CO, and counselor.

Ezell also attended Coker College, Benedict College, and University of South Carolina to further his education. He was a member of Bible Way Church of Atlas Road.

He was also predeceased by his brothers, Eddie Ree Eaddy and L.C. Eaddy.

He leaves behind to treasure his precious memories, his children Vashti Eaddy-Smith (Jeoffry), Komyka Eaddy-Garvin (Stacey), both of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tyler Ezell Eaddy of Columbia, South Carolina; their mother, Helen Gilmore; and twelve grandchildren. He also leaves behind three sisters: Jessie Marhimey, Rebecca Pough, and Lisha Mae Hall, and three brothers: Charles Eaddy, Robert E. Cannon, and Leotis Cannon, all of Columbia, South Carolina; a special friend, Jackie Bynum; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
