ANNOUNCEMENTS

Greetings, classmate  This is a secured social networking website that is private to the 1970 graduating class of Winston Churchill High School.  All information is private to registered users.  There is no membership fee and no advertising.  It is run and maintained by fellow classmates, not some third party.

Registered Users  This is your site.  Please participate.  Most importantly, if you have contact with any classmates who have not registered, please encourage them to do so.

Unregistered Users  What are you waiting for?  Those who have registered visit the site on a regular basis. They are delighted with the content. They can post then and now photos and see photos posted by others. They send messages and chat with fellow classmates. They have renewed ageless friendships.  Just navigate to the Classmate Profiles, click on your name (bet you forgot you ever looked that good), and then click on the create your profile link.

40th Reunion  The first order of business is to nail down the date which we will do when the Football schedule comes out in February.  If there are multiple weekends that can work, we will post a poll here on the website so that the class can select the preferred date.  We are searching for a hotel with reasonable rates, good facilities, and easy access to the Metro.  In the Jan 10, 2010 committee planning meeting, we made some updates to the potential schedule as follows:

Friday Afternoon (same as before):  Meet at the school.  The current principal is very excited about hosting us and promised a personal tour of the new facilities.

Friday Evening (same as before):  A home football game (can you say tailgate?).  Perhaps we can influence the administration's selection for homecoming weekend.  After the game, we'll likely convene at the hotel bar.

Saturday Night:  A sit down dinner is too confining.  Finger food and cash bar is much better suited for mix and mingle.  Where?  Ideally, at the hotel so stumbling into bed is easy but we have not ruled out finding a party room somewhere else.

Sunday:  A cookout at JV's house.

Note that this leaves Saturday afternoon open.  The out of towners may want to visit family and other friends.  Sub-groups of classmates may want to make some separate plans.  We also discussed the possibility of a softball game - and perhaps a pilgrimage to see Mr. Marco.

There is a Blog Topic on this subject.  Feel free to share your thoughts ...

New Blog Topics  There are 2 new Blog Topics.  If you have ideas for others, let us know.

In Classmate Encounters, you can share information about encounters, planned or otherwise, with fellow classmates or friends from other WCHS graduating classes.

On any given summer weekend, what are the chances that more than one of us are in Ocean City?  The OC Connection can be used to post your Ocean City trip information to facilitate potential classmate encounters.
