 John Koff Jr., age 81 of Dover, Delaware passed away Saturday November 22, 2025 surrounded by his family.  John was born on May 6, 1944 in Norwich, Connecticut to John and Lily Koff, where he spent his childhood until he joined the U.S. Air Force in August 1962.  He served his country until July 1986.  

     He held multiple roles in aircraft maintenance where he worked on several different aircraft types.  After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for a long-time friend at Brooks Machine Inc.  He spent more than 25 years traveling the east coast fixing and maintaining industrial band saw equipment.  He spent his spare time building his 55 Chevy and enjoyed going to car shows.  He also enjoyed fishing, boating, and lounging around the pool with his dogs.  He always looked forward to a monthly breakfast with a group of his military friends.  He loved getting together with friends to talk about cars and the military.  Anyone that knew him knew that he was a perfectionist.  

     John will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  John was married to Pauline Koff for 58 years until she passed in 2023.  They raised 4 children: Wendy Sharp and her husband Darrin, John Koff and his wife Darla, Tanya Aktiv and her husband Eric, and Laura Spreitler and her husband Nathan.  He also had 6 grandchildren: Melissa, Mackenzie, Joshua, Kevin, Zackary, and James.

     Dad you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.  We will miss you so much, until we see you again.

    John and Pauline Koff will be buried together. Family and friends are invited to attend their committal service at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday December 9, 2025 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery 2465 Chesapeake City Rd. Bear, DE 19701. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Roma Italian Restaurant on South Bay Rd. Dover, DE 19901 at 5:00 P.M. (GPS address: 3 President Dr, Dover, DE 19901).
