Pat asked me out once but my father had a rule that he had to meet any boy taking me out. So when Pat got to my house, he sat in the chair next to the front door. Daddy was cleaning his rifle, and while telling Pat what he expected, pointed the rifle at Pat. Good thing he was next to the front door. He high-tailed it out and never asked me out again. I never forgave Daddy and told him so.
