I remember Dick being a part of our Forensic team, and going  on many of our tournaments.I pray that Dick rests in peace, that he be with God in Heaven. I pray for his family and friends during their times of sorrow and lonliness.

So sorry of Dicks passing, great guy. We played football togreather at Lamar and McCallun in 10th grade. I have been out of town and did not hear of his passing til I got in today. I was in Austin all last week and would have attended his service had I known. RIP old friend, God bless you and family.

My family moved from South to North Austin at the start of our 7th-grade year.  I was in the same homeroom as Dick and we became friends almost immediately.  He was very welcoming for which I was always grateful.  He was very gracious and friendly from the start to "this kid moving from Bubbaland (South ATX)".  I always looked back at that time grateful for Dick's friendship.

Dick & I were in Mrs. Dickey's homeroom class.  Mrs. Dickey had the job back then (which sadly has now been done away with) of selecting those of us who would read the daily prayer/scripture.  She often chose either Dick or me to do that which (looking back) was quite an honor.

I echo the comments about his character and personality, he was a really, really good person.  Dick, blessings to your family during this time of grief and may you rest in the gentle arms of Jesus.

Richard

Dick (Pete to me) was a great friend to me in high school and we remained friends when he pledged Delt at UT and I pledged Phi Psi.  When my three girls were at UT he offered to give them passes to Austin City Limits because of their love of music.  From that my oldest became a reporter representing a New York outfit covering South By Southwest and my youngest went on to writing and singing Christian songs.  She, Caroline Cobb.com, has her 4th album out.  All because of Pete's care and compasion.  We will miss you Pete.

Oh darn it, I really grieve to learn of Dick’s passing. He was always such a remarkable young man. And if any of you missed the Forensic Varieties performance of Shakespear’s play within a play “Pyramis and Thisby” with Dick and Wayne Kramer with Dick in drag playing the damsel Thisby; you missed one of the great comedic highlights of our high school years. It was brilliantly funny.

We had lost touch over the year, but I found him again. We spoke often on the phone and when we visited Murlene and Earl, we’d catch up with Dick too. He was one of the good ones. I am glad I had a chance to know him and call him my friend.
