Jean Ann Miller (Schroeder)

Hey Pat! I thought my computer was dead since no one had any comments for weeks!!!!! Ruth & I were just discussing the lack of activity on the website! Glad to hear you are all right!

Patrick Grabbe

Hey Jean
I was beginning to wonder myself, couldn't take it any longer, at least I know you and Ruth are OK.

Richard Finke

I am thinking people are depressed with the election commercials and the economy. I don't believe the world is ending, but I have questioned that the last month or so. Gas is obviously down now which is helping my airline and just about everyone else, but I am not sure if anyone will fly. I will say though that the planes are still packed full everywhere we go.

Hey Dick
It's getting real close to the time to buy. I'm excited.

Jean Ann Miller (Schroeder)

Hey Dick! They have been talking on TV about the new air terminal at Indy. I think it opens in November. Bill is flying to MSP (Minneapolis) the first of Dec. for a meeting. (too cold for me!) I guess he will get to experience the new place without me!!! Make sure YOU fly to the correct terminal!!!!LOL Just Kidding!!

10/30/08 08:23 PM #331

Richard Finke

Jean, I'll try and get to the correct terminal. Believe it or not, 3 or 4 planes have landed at the wrong airport during my career. That would be very hard to explain. Tell Bill to not tap his feet wrong if he has to go to the restroom in MSP.

10/30/08 09:48 PM #332

Jean Ann Miller (Schroeder)

I'll have to remind him of that episode that was in the news & to watch out for toe tapping in the restrooms!!!!
Thanks for the warning!

Judith Kay Stout (Anderson)

Hey Guys!! Mr. Finke requested a little election/political chatter. Where are all of my passionate political classmates? I'll step out on a limb here although I may get beat up...I voted for
Pres. Elect Obama. Change is a comin...

11/06/08 05:43 PM #334

Patrick Grabbe

Hey Judy
I don't think you will get beat up but I voted for the other guy. It's the change he says he is going to bring to the country that I cannot possibly agree with.

11/06/08 06:06 PM #335

Patrick Grabbe

Judy
Don"t take me wrong, I hope the guy does fine, after all he will be our commander in chief, I just hope he doesn't head down that socialist road that he says he will.

Richard Finke

I voted for McCain only because I thought he would be tougher on terrorism. I believe many have forgotten that many in the world want us dead. I only hope Obama is strong against the people that want us destroyed. I wish him well. My Republican President, US Senator, and Governor for NC were all defeated. It was a landslide in NC for the Dems. I guess it is good that we go back and forth with our leaders or the whole country would be more corrupt than it is. I felt rather sick on Tuesday night, but now I just want our country to move on. We are still and always will be the greatest nation on earth. Ok, who was the other Obama supporter on the survey besides Judy. Later, Rich

Judith Kay Stout (Anderson)

Pat - Rich - I'm glad you responded..hope others will also. I agree also it is good that our country goes back and forth between parties, as I think the balance is a healthy one.
I was taken by the Barack charm, poise, youthfulness and the freshness that his champaign had to offer. I believe, he will have alot of people working in the background to keep him from going to any extreme.
I was also impressed by the youth of our country getting so involved - even though they are inexperienced in life lessons - I appreciate the non-racial approach they have today - that was worn out years and years ago.
I do have to admit - my parents were/are very strong Democrats - which has had an affect on my voting preferences.

Luellen Byrer (Miller)

Birthday greetings to all who are turning 56 this month!!

Re. the elections: I was not at all happy that both presidential candidates wanted the "bail out." That opened the door for anyone to ask for a handout and just look what's happening - the auto industry is knockin'! Where does it end? Count me conservative - I did vote for McCain/Palin. Definitely not too enthused about the path toward more socialistic decisions. We've come a long way from what our founding fathers fought for! Ok, I'll get off the soapbox.

Hey, Jean. Got any news for us, hmmm?

Couples, if the movie "Fireproof" is still on at a theater near you and you have not seen it yet - Jeff and I highly recommend that you go! It is a refreshing departure from the usual fare offered.

Dick -Thanks for putting John's picture up today on the website. It caught me by surprise and really tugged at my heart strings. He looks like a very young, handsome boy (he was)..it is a great day to remember him and all of those in our Miliary.

Jean Ann - Congratulations on being a grandparent-to-be..what a wonderful gift! I guess there is still hope for me, huh?

Hope this finds the rest of you well!

Ruth Hagemeier (Wesner)

Jean - - - CONGRATULATIONS to you & Bill on addition to the family. Did you know this last week & not tell me?? Also if I don't see you before the 24th have a Happy Birthday.

I want to say a BIG thank you to all the veterans out there and to all those serving now, thank you & my prayers are with you. I have a son-in-law in the Air Force stationed in Washington DC as a honor guard, most of his duty is at the Arlington Cemetary.

11/11/08 10:29 PM #343

Luellen Byrer (Miller)

Big thanks and prayers to all US Veterans today and the present military. Where in the world would we be without them?

Ruth, is it Luke serving at Arlington? That is a very solemn and impressive ceremony. We were in Washington about 5 yrs ago when hurricane Isabel hit just south of DC and those guards elected to remain at their post throughout the storm! We were at Arlington the day after, and there were many trees uprooted, but nothing happened to the guards. I'd say God was (and is) watching over them.

PS. Jeff and I are celebrating our 36th anniversary today.

Hey, Jean -- Stan and I just found out that we will be grandparents in May. Jay and Julie are expecting May 20th. Great timing for me... I'll have all summer to play! Pass the word to Kent and Melissa, I don't know if they know or not. I am so excited, it does seem like May is forever away. Cheryl Wampler McKinley is expecting her first grandchild in December. She is very excited!

Congratulations on all who are expecting grandchildren.
Maybe soon for Ann and I, I HOPE,
Dan
I am not going to be able to play, a wedding that day and then off to Indy to pick up my daughter for Thanksgiving week.

Lu...Luke is stationed at Bolling AFB (they live on base)and he does the funeral services at Arlington, mostly the firing squad. This summer there was a tornado warning out as a funeral was going on. The wind was making the rain sideways & finally the squad was told to take cover. His group was the last to leave. The family of the veteran was so impressed they shot a video of the men and was put on TV in the DC area. He takes his job very serious and with great pride, & now is practicing for Obama's big day.

Pat...HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the 22nd (same day as my mom's)What a nice birthday present for Sarah to come home. We go to Indy on Wed.(26th) to get Brittany for Thanksgiving.

Tom...did they close down happy street?? Not heard from you for awhile.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone as we count our blessings.

Patrick Grabbe

Thanks Ruth
It will be great to have Sarah home for Thanksgiving.
Sarah called me last Tuesday and asked me if I wanted my Christmas present early and I said sure, so she flew mw to Tampa and picked me up Saturday morning. I am a big Doobie Brothers fan and she knew I couldn't pass up a chance to see them, as usual they were great. Spent the day with her then Sunday and flew back to Indy on Monday. So I get to see her two weekends in a row.
Fine with me. Enjoy your time with Brittany..
