If anyone remembers Mr Siddoway sitting on top of the ladder to M C the homecoming assembly maybe you remember that he commented how hard the seat was getting. A pillow (band cushion) came flying through the air and he caught it and sat on it. I was running a spot light in the overhead and threw it to him - unplanned, unrehursed.

I used to spend a lot of nights at the school recording TV shows off PBS for teachers to show in class- My!- how things have changed. Anyway one Sunday evening I went over to record "Allister Cook's - AMERICA" and found the monitor not working. So Brian Chaffin (75) and I went up to the Main floor to get a monitor out of another room and we were in the process of carrying it down the stairs east of the band room when BEN RICKS - the custodian was checking doors to the school. There we were on the inside with a TV coming down the stairs and BEN was on the outside looking in. The doors were chained shut and BEN was yelling "Stay there" as he headed for the only unchained door at the South boys locker room door. We took the monitor to the recording room at the end of the hall and got ready while we waited for BEN to join us. Thank goodness there were no cell phones around then. It all worked out fine.
