Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Okay, this is my guess - seeing how it is 'ROCK & ROLL SUMMER' party.  Lynn Langham and Doug Gill will be entertaining us?

Remember though, I know nothing.  This is just a wild guess.

This is my other Lynn favorite.

Kitty Allison (Hilton)

I'm a "yes" for the big summer party! And though Carrol is hoping for air-conditioning, I'm hoping for Bon Jovi! Alas I'm just thrilled to be able to be there! THANK YOU for planning the party when I'm in Texas! Yipppeeee! Yee Ha! Hallelujah! Love to all!

***********************************************************

Okay, Kitty can't we have  Bon Jovi and air conditioning?  But, alas, Bon Jovi wasn't an Exporter but he has overcome it so . . . he is most cordially invited!

 Carrol

p.s. if we must choose, I still choose a/c.

SORRY LADIES, YOU'RE BOTH WRONG!

Carrol, thanks for the registration addition to our right column.  Yes classmates, look in the right column under EXPORTERS' PROFILES and register.  We did promise to stay intouch and it's a blessing we have this opportunity.  The planning group has some great things planned.  Anyone that wants to attend our next meeting, please do.  (Yeah, I know....bunch just wants to find out the surprise)  Well, that's OK.....we will share.

*************************************

Hmmmmmmmmm, on my computer that would be the column on the LEFT  on the home page, Marian.

04/22/10 01:25 PM #2767

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

OMGosh Carrol,  Do I need glasses (oh, I have them)?  Well, yeah!  Please excuse me dear classmates.  Our precious Carrol has saved me again.  The column to the LEFT.  This getting old and staying busy is getting to me.  I must slow down....but how?

04/22/10 10:30 PM #2768

Lynn Rasberry (Brooks)

I think that only those of us who were at the original meeting should be in on the surprise - if more people know (Carrol) then what would be the surprise!  Let's just say that fireworks will only be the prelude and there will be lots of bling!  I think I will have to tape the others mouths shut!

 **********************

Lynn, please know I am now rolling my eyes.

Carrol

UPDATE ON MARGARET

Margaret asked me to share with our class that the doctors removed a large mass and a lymph node.  It was cancer.  Lynn called me last night and said the doctors are confident that they were able to remove all but Margaret will return to dr. Monday.  Please keep our sweet Margaret in your prayers.  She has strong faith in the doctors and our Lord.  Since the reunion, I have gotten to know Margaret and I can truly say that she loves everyone and I too, love her very much.  She is a friend to everyone.  God's blessings Dear Margaret.

Gary Vance

I am so thankful for the community of believers and friends that have emerged here among the Exporter class of 1969.  It is a beautiful thing to be able to share burdens, worries, health issues and victories with a group that is so gentle, caring and full of faith.  God bless you each one richly.

Lord, I lift up my friends and their concerns to You.  I think of Mary Metzger's recent loss of her son...please continue to comfort her and her family and friends.  Please Lord, minister to Mark and Pam McMullen Freeman as they grieve the loss of their daughter, Lindsey.  Lord, comfort us all as we miss Collene...especially be with her family.  Lord, please heal and restore Barbara Ludeman's Mom back to health and independence.  Lord, we ask for You to form a healthy baby boy in the womb of Shannon (Jerri Mills daughter) and that You would bring this child to full term in perfect health. Lord, I lift my precious sister Margaret Dubois up to You and ask for a complete healing of her cancer...grant her doctors wisdom in her treatment and please carry my sister through this with courage, comfort, grace and perfect restoration.  Lord, I lift up all my many other friends here who have unspoken needs, ongoing trials and sorrows.  You see us all and Your grace and love is always reaching toward us.  Please meet every need out of the bounty of Your love.

Jesus, I thank You for the gift of life...for friends that span the entire breadth of this life...for Your saving grace and the promise of Your presence in every day of our lives.  Bless my friends and draw us all closer to You and help us all to walk into the fullness of the destiny You have designed for us.  I give You all praise, honor and glory!

In Jesus Mighty Name I pray...Amen

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Gary, thank you for the beautiful prayer.

Received another email from Margaret and she said the doctors told HL that they feel confident that they removed all the cancer.  Also, Margaret said that they are unsure at this time if she will need radiation or chemo.  Please continue to pray for her.

Good morning dear Friends,
I am directing my first play for Brazosport Center Stages and would like to invite you, your family and your friends to see it.  The play is Love Letters by A.R. Gurney and I think you will like it very much.
The piece is a staged reading comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

I have received many phone calls on my old cell phone.  I decided just to check that number because a coalition member claimed he called me several times.  If I have not gotten back to you, now you know why.  I have posted my current cell and home number.  I will not post this on Facebook so I am hoping our classmates check this site.  We are getting a great response on the upcoming meeting at my house on May 8th at 1:00 P.M.  The directions are really easy.  Do no try to Map Quest because you will not find it.  We live in the country which consists of land and that has many different addresses.  Off of 36 headed to Brazoria, turn at the new McCoy's left and at the end of this road you will enter FM 521..turn left.  Go approximately 10 miles and you will see the Brazoria/Matagorda county line.  Also, you will see Peter's Liquor Store (any of you remember that) and my house is 1 mile on the left.  Since I live in the country, we live with barns and that is my house.  It has a white fence in front.  We are bringing snacks.  Oh,  I have a big surprise that I can announce now.......

PRECIOUS CARROL AND OUR QUEEN GERRY SUE ARE COMING!!!!

these two complete a party!  Hope to see you there!!  We have sooo much fun!

Margaret Dubois (Ammons)

I went to the doctor Thursday-got biopsy report.  Good news-margins are clear, but all 8 lymph nodes were cancerous.  So-facing both radiation and chemo in the future.  I am not looking forward to this, but I know I mustI am waiting to heal from the surgery before I can have the scans to see if it has spread.   Please, God, hold me in Your hands.

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Margaret,  You accomplished the first step to healing by asking Our Father's intervention.  Second,  we have a class that love you and will be here for you.  Prayer Warriors, let's get started.  Gary, please say a prayer for our Margaret on this new concern.  Thank you.

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

LORD God, I ask that You watch over precious Margaret and her family.  Hold her in the palm of Your mighty, loving hands.  You know her needs before she does and I pray that You ease her emotional and physical concerns.  I boldly ask on Margaret's behalf that You ease her side effects from all of her treatment and she recovers quickly and completely.  I ask that You supply her with the daily resources she will need as she faces this trying time.  We know trials are opportunities to draw closer to You and I pray that all of Margaret's loved ones cling to You.  You are the Great Healer and I ask You to heal Your sweet daughter.  I love You and praise You and give You the glory.  I ask this in the name of Your most precious Son, Jesus.  Amen.

Margret, myself and several more of us have been through this, you can do it.  It's different for everyone, but basiclly the same for all.  I only had two lymphs involved on one side (but they took all 33 nods out!) and none on the other.  I allowed them to take both breast, then did chemo for 6 months and radiation every day for 6 weeks.  Clean 2 years now and feel great.  You can do it with the help of God and your family and friends.  If you ever want to talk you can call me anytime 236 9596.  God bless you with peace and calm.

Ok, for those of you that don't know I work for BP.  Yes the oil spill company.  My best friend that lives in South Carolina wants to meet me somewhere to help clean the beach, birds, sand, etc.  Should any of you be interested I'll let you know when and where we may be.  This will effect so many peoples lives for many years to come and I want to help in anyway I can because Sorry is not gonna help.

That's a beautiful prayer Carrol...Amen.  God bless you Margaret, we are lifting you up.  Thanks Betty for your candor and encouragment regarding your own cancer battles and victory.  God bless you as you go to help with the cleanup on the coast.

Thanks to all the birthday well wishers, even though the jokes about getting old are usually funny they are also usually true, but no matter how you look at it getting older is definitely better than the alternative. And looking forward to returning the jokes on each of your upcoming birthdays.

Many THANKS.

Mary Metzger (Metzger)

This is Andrew's obituary:

ANDREW (DREW) LEE ERICKSON, 24, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Sugar Land, TX as the result of an auto accident. Beloved son of Jim and Mary and dear brother of Sam and Thomas as well as many others who considered Andrew their brother. Andrew was an Eagle Scout, a 2004 graduate of Austin High School, a 2008 graduate of TSTC in Waco, TX and was employed as an auto technician at Allen Samuels Katy Dodge.
Andrew’s joyful spirit was always expressed with a smile and he will be sorely missed. In his generous nature, Andrew donated his body to LifeGift, an organ and tissue donor bank, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifeGift to honor him.

All of the messages and cards that you have sent are appreciated.  THANK YOU!

In honor of his memory, a scholarship fund is being founded at San Jac Jr College to aid students enrolling  in the Chrysler Automotive Program (CAP).  Andrew had graduated from the CAP program and had been employed at Allen Samuels Katy Dodge.

Fund raisers will be held later this summer (a car show, of course) and I will let you know the details when they are finalized.
