I'm sorry to miss ANOTHER BHS event. I have to leave Saturday for Baton Rouge. All of you have fun, fun, fun! I am happy to report that I found my high school annuals. They had been packed away when I was off traveling somewhere in the world, and just this past weekend Eddie and I went through some attic boxes and yippee...they were there. cheeky

We missed you, birthday girl, and all those that couldn't make it.  It was a bunch of fun!  Several people took pictures, so I'm sure someone will post.  Have a blessed and merry Christmas and safe travels, Alice.

I value the time I spent with each of you. I will cherish these memories forever. God Bless You and A Very Safe, Healthy, Merry Christmas. (Sorry, I did not take any pictures. If you did, please share)

What did you do in 2011?  What are you looking forward to in 2012?  Do you have a plan?  (me, neither!)   I'll start so the bar will be low and the rest of you will want to jump right in.

1.  No emergency room visits!  YAY!  I really think it is that decade age thing.  The year we turned 50 and then again at 60, I had some weird accidents, so . . . good for another 10.

2.  I went with Susie Patton's (Gerry Sue Reichenbach) Sunday school class to Branson to see Noah, the Musical (yes, really and it was impressive).  We also ziplined which was sooooo fun and beautiful.  Obviously, physical fitness is not a requirement so, kinda perfect for me.

3.  Had 2 epidural steroid shots for spinal arthritis, bones spurs, blah, blah, blah - those things are like magic!

4.  Hanging on to my old 2004 Highlander.  Fits me perfectly and its paid for, besides, the silver color camouflages just how filthy it is!

5. Two road trips to New Orleans.  My nephew (Mike's son) is on staff at Tulane University so . . . much fun in French Market, etc.  Discovered that an adult beverage does much for arthritis - wonder why my doctor never mentioned that?   I actually quit drinking in 1983 because I had kind of exceeded my portion at that time and saw alcoholism up close (not me).  Haven't missed it but last month discovered the arthritic relief  from a Bellini (and a daquiri and a couple of vodka lemonades - I was there 4 days so, spread those all out).

4.  Alaskan cruise with Susie and a group of folks - omgosh, Alaska is majestic.  Also, ziplined, rappelled out of the last tree and then a 200 foot slide sitting on a potato sack.  Lots of fun.

5.  Still working as a crime victim coordinator in the d.a.'s office working with victims of violent crime.  Love my job and the people I work with.  I do not see retirement on the horizon but . . .

6.  I got another rescue dog in August.  If they made ritalin for canines, I would sign her up!  Took dog training at the local PetSmart and was truly impressed with the progress.  I can make her sit, down, leave it, etc., but she's still zooms aroud like a crackhead.  Training didn't change her personality . . . sigh.

Looking so forward to 2012 and your lists.  I would let you know my plans but sincerely, my life tends to be a surprise to me, too.

Happy 2012!

I married off all three children in 2011.

Did you arrange those marriages?  Like a "3 for" sale?   You are just so loquacious.

Post some photos, Mike!  Love the one of you and daughter dancing.

2011

I put myself on the list to be the 1st to be cloned.  I am continuing to teach, hopefully through 2012. (should have saved that for next paragraph.)  But as I hang onto retirement benefits, my husband has had to take a job in North Georgia.  So most of my days have been teaching and coming home to Stella, my "dog" (don't tell her I referred to her as that.)  I've tried to take on more responsibility with my parents as they age and my father has become ill with Parkinsons.  They are still in Texas so I spend most of all my time off, there.  My adventurous son, Austin, is in Portland, OR; haven't seen him in almost a year.  My son, Nathan is with his family in Atlanta working for the Weather Station.  I see him every 2 or 3 months.  My husband's son and family live in Charleston, SC but I rarely get to see them due to seeing my parents.  Same with my husband's daughter and family who live in Jacksonville, FL.  So you can see why I would love to be cloned!  Besides being "Cat in the Hat", "Mrs. Kanoodle", and "Viola Swamp" at school, I keep singing at church and started taking a class of "Aqua Zumba" at a gym.  Nothing like 60-70 year olds swinging their hips and jivin to zumba music.  Thank goodness, all that can be seen is shoulders up!!  (I do have to tell about my swimsuit falling apart during class.)

The "girls" told me to get a good suit due to the chlorine being hard on suits.  I thought, yeah eventually, but in the meantime I wore my old suit that had stayed in my "beach bag" on ready if I ever made it there.  After about 5 classes, I entered the pool and began my swanging.  I noticed the material of my suit began to hit my chin.  That is when I noticed it had stretched out so much it was flopping around in front of me.  When I got out of the pool I made sure my breasties were covered but the bottom part was gathering between my legs down to my knees.  The girls told me again to get a good, chlorine-resistant suit like Speedos.  So next adventure was when I visited my husband in North Georgia and went to Dick's sporting good store in search of such suit.  I actually found one in my size and went to the dressing room.  I found the latex to be extremely strong.  I checked the size again, yeah right.  No BRA!!  Well, maybe it will work.   I forced it up and over my shoulders.  I immediately saw I lost my breasties.  I then turned to see the back (which had an open hole between strap and bottom.  In that hole was all stomach and breasties excess.  It was a nice, puffy biscuit ready for butter.  I think you could hear my gasp all over the store.  Finally found a Rebok that kept things in front in front.  I guess you can say I got my inspiration to continue my class in 2012.

2012

Hope to see Austin this year.  Hope to do all I can for my parents.  Hope to see my husband more.  Hope to not go insane.  Hope to get rid of that biscuit on my back.  Hope to see my friends from the class of 69.  Live, Love, and Laugh

************

Judy, I laughed and laughed and laughed and then a tear ran down my leg.  Your biscuit could be a clone growing; if that is the case, I'm about to generate triplets!

Carrol

I received this e-mail as if it was from Michael and Kathy Poehl. Is this legit . Does anyone know.

I'm sorry for this odd request because it might get to you too urgent but it's because of the situation of things right now,I'm stuck Madrid Spain with family right now, we came down here on vacation, we were robbed, worse of it was that our bags, cash, credit cards and cell phone were stolen from us at GUN POINT, it's such a crazy experience for us, we need help flying back home, we still have some money in our account but we don't have access to it right here.the authorities are not being 100% supportive to the matter but the good thing is that we still have our passports but don't have enough money to clear the hotel bills, please i need you to loan me €1,650 Euro I'll reimburse you as soon as I'm back home.PROMISE,You have my word,Hope to read from you soon.

Thanks,
Micheal.

Heads up -  I just spoke with Michael Poehl and his account has been hacked so . . . he and Kathy are not in Madrid and, you know, 1,650 Euro wouldn't be enough for them to get back home first class so . . . just not realistic.

Did anyone else get this e-mail?   I think it is bogus!

I this one of those scam type e-mails?   Did someone hack Michael's e-mail?

Glenn Patton requested that I share this information here:

Glenn spoke with Steve Landers who told him that Gail Harris has survived a heart attack this weekend.  She is in Memorial Herman in Houston and she was given a stent.  For more information, ask Steve. (He and Gail reconnected at the reunion).
