                                      No   Time

I  knelt  to  pray  but  not  for  long

I  had  to  much  to  do

I  had  to  hurry  and  get  to  work

for  bills  would  soon  be  due

So  I  knelt  and  said  a  hurried  prayer

then  jumped  up  off  my  knees

my  Christian  duty  was  now  done

my  Soul  could  rest  at  ease

All  day  long  I  had  no  time

to  spread  a  word  of  cheer

no  time  to  speak  of  Christ  to  friends

they'd  laugh  at  me  I'd  fear

No  time  -  No  time  -  No  time

                                         that  was  my  constant  cry

no  time  to  give  to  souls  in  need

but  at  last  -  a  time  to  die

                                           I  went  before  the  Lord

                                   and  stood  with  downcast  eyes

for  in  His  hands  God  held  a  book

                                     -  It  was  the  Book  of  Life  -

God  looked  into  His  book  and  said

                                   "  Your  Name  "  I  can-not  find

I  once  was  going  to  write  it  down

                                     but  never  found  the  time

                                                    HM,jr.

Congrats to Sergio Garcia for winning the 2016 Byron Nelson Golf Championship.  Local Jordan Spieth came in 18th after being at the the top of the leaderboard all week.  He is a millionaire, in his 20's and 2nd in the World.  Not to shabby.  He will win many more tournaments.

So glad to c we r changing venues for the monthly meetings. I was never comfortable meeting in the "bar like" atmosphere & can't stand smell of cigarettes.  Let's hope the rains/floods don't get us . TNX John for the notice!.

Kathleen, our lunch meetings were held at Luby's.  Some of the folks still go dancing at the American Legion in Angleton-no alcohol sold there and smoking was outside.

This Sat. it's at Sweet T's in Freeport.

It's all cool, Kathy-just wanted to make sure everyone knew we are not meeting at a bar.  I would not do that, either.

We've been voting in presidential elections since 1972.  I don't ever recall such a disturbing situation.  We have a bombastic, immature, egomaniac with vocabulary of a 9th grader, and a known prevaricator   Don't even get me started on Clinton. Since 1984 I've at least been able to vote against someone.  I can't even do that this year.

Why can't we have binding "none of the above" on the ballot?

07/30/16 11:26 AM #3380

Greg Hackney

But don't pull a Perot like I did then, this time!

07/30/16 09:26 PM #3381

Mike Strickland

One of my concerns about trump is the same I had about Perot - he'll quit midstream

07/31/16 07:49 AM #3382

Greg Hackney

It sure would throw the process into a "tizzy"!

07/31/16 08:39 AM #3383

Michael Piersall

I do not believe Trump would quit.  He is not a quitter.  Clinton is dishonest to the hilt, liar and she would sell off America if  she could make millions of dollars to do so.  Vote Trumpthe best choice of the two.

07/31/16 12:54 PM #3384

Greg Hackney

I'll definitely take a chance on him over her.

Which nominee will choose the type of Supreme Court Justice that you want? . Presidents can only be there for max of 8 years. SC Justices can be on the SCOTUS for 25-30 years, and can make life changing decisions.

And ther are other pitfalls we need to consider. The importation of illegal weapons, aka, dirty bomb mat'l. Thought I'd say sumpin else? Then there's runaway spending. Then there's nat'l.  Security. Then... Your guess
