Just received email notification that homepage had been updated.  Clicked and found  homepage still has the Friday evening concert that I though Margaret said had been cancelled.

Might want to edit that part of the homepage announcement.

The Civic Center has cancelled the concert.  We met last night to discuss this.   We are planning on meeting at the Pavilion behind the former Lake Drug where there is plenty of parking and then let people get with friends to decide which restuarant they would like to go.  There are quite a few within a couple of blocks to choose from.There is the Wursthaus, Growlers Pub, Poly Pop, Wayside Pub, The Local, and Table 24 and Italian Grill within 2 blocks.  There are many others within a short drive.  Sorry for the confusion.  The Civic Center had to cut some concerts because of budget.

none of the restaurants have a meeting room or anything similar which could accomodate everyone. seems a little fragmented with so many venues - but maybe this is the preferred approach ?

Michael, while I agree with you,  I suspect the people who've been hard at work planning everything for Saturday (which includes you with the golf) may not be in the mood to organize something else.   

Equally, I suspect most people didn't have to make airplane reservations and have more flexibility.

No worries:  I can't change my flights, but I can make other plans for Friday evening in Houston and drive down Saturday morning....

There’s no paste thingy, so I’ll redo my offer to the clas of ‘69 50th wknd. offerings. I can still swing a club, but use one arm, my right, since my lil ‘93 CVA,  HEEHEE bec things could be worse(look at my pic). I could be baldheaded. Anyway. I don’t recreate like before so I began shooting like I did some, in college. I’m offering the opportunity for a few individuals, unless this offer blossoms, a session at my local range using the caliber of your choice and weapon too! I’d need to know what you want so I’ll  know what to bring for your fun. The golf thing is Sat. so maybe Sun. would be better. Or Friday. I can’t bring my carry piece bec the range doesn’t allow the use of my M82-A1, HEEHEE! Contact me at ghackney24@yahoo.com bec it’ll be easier for me to figure out what your plans are for our wknd. I apologize for the uncertain plans for Friday night.  We had this all planned out, but when the City of Lake Jackson cancelled the event, it kind of took us by surprise.  We are exploring other alternatives and hope to have something more concrete in the next few days.   Please feel free to toss out any ideas you may have.
