I reconnected with Melinda Rosenkranz yesterday on Classmates.com. She promises to sign in to the reunion site today, so let's all keep a look out for her and send a big welcome.

Here's her note to me--"I was glad to here from you. It is getting late, I just came from my grandaughters birthday/end of school party. It as at Jasmine hall. She is 12 today. I had a good time watching all the young ones dancing, and having fun. It brought back some good memories. I worked in Houston for a few years and finally moved back to lake jackson around the year 2000. I will register for the class reunion tomorrow. I will keep in touch. This will be alot of fun getting to know everyone again. I will look up your profile, tomorrow.

talk to you later, have a good week-end.

Utah Carl came to you live (if you could get someone to turn the antenna while you ran back and forth from the T.V. to the window shouting instructions) from the Gulf Coast Furniture Warehouse in Alvin, Texas. The camera would focus in on his “Utah Carl” engraved boot while he tapped time to “Wanderer of the Wasteland”.

It’s true, we have big balls here in Cowtown.

3 things I would save in a fire:
Janet, my .30-06, all my other guns (The fire dept. might want me to get the ammo too.)

3 toppings on a pizza: sausage; cheese; and, yes, anchovies

3 things I can't live without: Janet, Rob, Carrie (including Andy and the grandkids)

3 CLASSES OF people you hate: (I don’t hate anyone so I changed this catagory.) “Politicians”, “Politicians”, and “Politicians”. This does not include every elected person. I think “Statesmen” are honorable.

3 items you see right now: “3 items you see right now”, “now”, “now”

Carrol here: How does monkey butt become a person's favorite word? Or how is it even used in a sentence? I've pretty much lived all these years without saying or, I believe, even hearing the phrase "monkey butt".
'Course it may become my new favorite word if I learn how to use it. ;>)

Kathy Harkreader Jones, where are you? Too quiet for too long. Eveything okay? Joy's gone on vacation and you are mute - I'm not sure the rest of us will be able to stand the silence!

06/08/09 03:05 PM #1285

Kathy Harkreader (Jones)

Hey, Carrol, :) I'm here...just thinking...which is a very dangerous thing...and difficult. :)
The random thoughts game was easier for me b/c most of my thoughts are random. :)
I could never stand in for Joy...I don't have that many words or thoughts left, but thank you for thinking of me.

The one thought I did want to tell you guys is that we didn't have air conditioning until I was in the 7th grade. We had one of those big attic fans, but if you closed the door, it didn't help. Also, sometimes random doors would slam shut due to the air suction. :) How did we make it?

06/08/09 03:15 PM #1286

Kathy Harkreader (Jones)

Hey Delores--I LOVE the Anne of Green Gables movies!!! Also, I have watched all of the (90 something) Road to Avonlea shows (rented from Netflix).

I wonder if anyone has read the Mitford series of books by Jan Karon. I know one classmate on here has and Cathy Ellis Crawford emailed me some time back that she had. Karon has also written one book in her new Father Tim series. They are very relaxing and comforting to me.
