I am reliving my childhood, but feel very strongly about Jolie having a good foundation!!! Of course like me she maybe a little over kill on washing and changing her babies. Hey Joe I got 3 words for you.....Where's the beef?

06/09/09 02:21 AM #1295

John Adcock

AS SOON AS I GET UP
EACH MORNING I SEE
WHAT USED TO WORK GREAT
ISN'T WORKING FOR ME

MY EYES CAN SEE FAR
BUT UP CLOSE NOT SO GOOD
IF MY ARM WAS JUST LONGER
I COULD READ LIKE I SHOULD

MY BONES LIKE "RICE KRISPIES"
THEY SNAP CRACKLE AND POP
EACH TIME I BEND DOWN
TO PICK UP WHAT I DROP

I GET THROUGH THE DAY
BE IT SMOOTH OR ROUGH
I'M GLAD IT'S ALL OVER
AND NOT SOON ENOUGH

I GET READY FOR BED
WITH NO FERVOR NOR FLAIR
I GET SET FOR THE MORNING
AND PICK OUT WHAT TO WEAR

I GET SETTLED ALL IN
HAVING EVERYTHING RIGHT
I PUT THINGS ALL IN PLACE
FOR A TYPICAL NIGHT

MY EYES ARE IN SALINE
THEY'LL BE SOAKING ALL NIGHT
MY TEETH IN A GLASS
TO STAY CLEAN AND WHITE

MY HAIR ON A PEDESTAL
ALL QUAFFED AND CLEAN
MY EYEMASK AND EARPLUGS
NOW MAKING THE SCENE

NEXT MORNING I GET UP
ARISE WITH A GROAN
CAUSE MY GET UP AND GO
HAS DONE GOT UP AND GONE

I was laying in bed watching TV and I got out of bed a few minutes ago and groaned and these thoughts came into my head so I wrote this little "ditty" for y"all

some truth, some fiction

HOPE SOMEONE ENJOYS IT

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

John, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Maybe you should combine all your writings into a book. I would buy it.

3 things I would save in a fire: first of all, hope I will never have one because I'm almost at the end of my painting, tile and new cabinets. Yeah!!!!
I would save whom ever is in the house, my cell phone and hopeful myself

3 toppings on a pizza: canadian bacon, italian sausage, and maybe hamburger

3 things I cannot live without: love, trust and GOD

3 words I would say before I die: Thank you GOD (for all that has been given me during my life)

3 best friends, No Relatives: But I have to say my two daughters because there is nothing we don't share, my dog because he loves me no matter what

3 dream vacations: a week in a spa, Disneyland with all my grandkids, touring the US and Canada

3 favorite words: Is it payday

3 favorite movies: The Notebook, Tom Hank's in Castaway, anything by Alfred Hitchcock

3 things before you die: See my grandkids graduate, see all my bills paid, hope I die semi-healthy where my kids will not have to take care of me and NO WARS

3 people you hate: those are strong words but I hate the way some people are such as: not using their blinker, not appreciating what they have, and guests coming over and not putting down the commode seat

3 items you see right now: Diet Coke can, desk calendar, lamp

OMG Joe! I was told that Cleburne had 3 earth quakes. Let us know that you are OK. Earth Quakes....isn't that strange for that area????

06/09/09 04:36 PM #1301

Joe Ballard

Live and kicking Marian!! We felt the first one and it was like being near a loud heavy truck or better in the vicinity of a underground dynamite blast. it did not make us fall out of our chairs here. Some experts are blaming it on all the gas wells here in Johnson County, about 1000 wells here now. Thanks Marian for your concern. And I will take prayer anytime!

Marian,

How odd!!!!!! I don't like it when guests come over and forget to put the commode seat back up........I guess it all in the perspective.

Joy;

No I really don't feel that bad. I actually feel quite healthy and relatively energetic, just a little lazy at times.

It's just when I got up out of bed my mouth made this automatic groaning sound, and it reminded me of what Gabe Kaplan said in one of his stand-up routines, years ago. He said one morning he got up out of bed and made this groaning sound and then said...."Hey, that's my father's sound."

As I age I find myself doing many things my father used to do, but at 57 I am much healthier than he was at the same age. At 57 my father had a close call. He was in ICU for about a month. The doctors had little hope but we were blessed with 8 more years..He had his homegoing at 65. (1987)
Forgive my "ramblings" My emotions seem to surface at odd times, and I have a tendency to elaborate on my thoughts.

I was sitting there thinking that morning and all of those signs of aging just rolled through my mind, so I wrote them down.

Imagine Moses. Moses was 120 years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. He didn't even need reading glasses!!!!!!!!!

I am so blessed by God with good health, a loving family and the knowledge that my parents and grandparents are waiting for me, my son's and grandchild in Heaven.

Right on John!!! Does anyone remember how in the 60's and early 70's you were either a Beatles follower or a Rolling Stone follower.....I just liked rock n roll and hey some good progressive country.

06/09/09 06:42 PM #1308

John Adcock

Actually Joe, I was neither a bug watcher or a stoner....I did however have ALL the Beach Boys albums.....never got into the British Invasion and didn't really learn to appreciate the Beatles until later and by then they were already disbanded.

Well I got into rock early..KILT wow Johnny Cash Ring of Fire...My transistor radio was awesome at 10 pm listening to Rodger Miller Johnny Cash The Beatles Loving Spoonful, etc etc...etc And then there was Darla Davis(my next door neighbor) way ahead of the game around 65 or 66 with Suzie Cream chesse by Frank Zappa..

06/09/09 07:38 PM #1310

Kathy Harkreader (Jones)

I love all this music on here! I liked all kinds back when we were growing up...rock and roll, country...all of it. I couldn't understand a lot of the lyrics and sang them wrong most of the time. :) I also grew up liking a lot of music from the 50s and early 60s, probably b/c I had older siblings and we had a radio going 24/7 as far back as I can remember.
Joe, it is fine for you to use the sunrise pictures. :) Another friend (not from our class) said he put 2 of them on the computer screens at work. :) I'm jealous that you have an attic fan.
