Hi Ray! Yes I do check in occasionally. We enjoyed your visit and hope to make it down to the Orange Beach area again this year. Our website for the class of 1968 is brazosport68.com.
All 69ers are welcome to come by and visit. Our forum is working on page 313 for the year with 7824 posts. Topics last night included Crown Royal pool table covers, nude beaches, and quilts. Tonight it was monopolized by cream style corn wrestling that we are thinking about doing tag team style in San Antonio in March. Hope your reunion goes well---I know it will :)

The trucking trip continues: From Chicago to Los Angeles and now back to Denver. LA is the absolute pits. We came down out of the mountains to a rust colored haze that engulfed everything. Stinky. You can't even see the mountains that surround the area. The whole town is polluted and the traffic is a nightmare. All traffic signs are completely graffitied up. Leaving asap!

Hugs to you Carrol for your hard work on the great slide show and hugs to everyone working so hard to make this the best reunion ever!

Aawww, thanks for the reminder DeeAnn, I'll have my sign ready for free hugs!!

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Y'all need to quit saying, 'the best reunion ever' - that's alot of pressure! I just feel anxious every time I hear that. I hope y'all are just being nice because we are older and more appreciative of each other and have lower expectations, okay? The committee doesn't want y'all hot AND DISAPPOINTED in September.
p.s. Collene, I don't even think we are gonna NEED the hug signs, I think its gonna come naturally . . . but isn't that a sweet video. Thanks, Dee Ann

Carrol,
You're right-the hugs will come freely. They have already started. Hugs start the committee meetings and we are already emotionally hugging on this site. Isn't it great?

Susie (Gerry Sue) Reichenbach (Tyler)

I agree with Margaret, the hugs are flowing freely and they are so GREAT!!!

Carrol- again good job on the slide show- it's GREAT!!

I know you do, Dee, good luck. Hey, Redskins, Mr. Bohuslav has joined our website as a guest! Drop in & give him a shout. He also taught data processing at BHS. He told me the other day that our class is getting old. I do believe that we are catching up with him age wise, how does that happen?

I haven't posted a single word to the message forum, however, I want you all to know how much I have enjoyed reading all the personal news and reunion updates. Carol, you tagged me months ago and I apologize for not responding sooner. I do have one old memory for you...do you remember coming to play at my house when you moved to CLUTE??? Yes CLUTE! Marian, some of my foundest memories are of visiting your family in Freeport and Lake Jackson. I thought your large family was just as about as exciting as life could get...always something going on. I remember your little dog Chi Chi. When I finally did decided to type a few words on the message forum I wanted to tell Maria that my daughters are in her store all the time. That tidbit seems so insignificant now in light of her father's passing. I just want her to know that I am thinking of her and send my prayers. I am sitting here beside my father's hospital bed as he had a knee replacement this morning and when I read about her dad, I suddenly felt so lucky to be listening to Dad snore.
For those of you that have worked so hard on pulling the reunion together and will continnue to work on the reunion, I send my thanks and appreciation. I know what it takes to pull one of these things together as I helped on the very first one. Just the mail out alone was a chore...no BHS website or email back in the stoneage! I am very excited about getting to attend. My heart felt thanks again to the committee. I know everything is going to be absolutely wonderful.
Dianne

Marian,
I'm a little behind in my forum reading. I'm responding to your post #1559 - I agree, I think this committee deserves quite a bit of thanks. They have continually invited anyone to join them and posted the help they needed which has made it so easy for any one of us who may want to help.
To the committee:
I hope you will continue to list jobs that you need help with or let us know if there is anything else we can contribute to. You have done a fabulous job communicating and planning. I don't think we can thank you enough.
You have made the reunion very easy for the rest of us since all we have to do is send in a check and show up. I'm sure we have no idea how much thought as well as time you have given.
Thank you very much!

We have to send a check?

07/27/09 05:22 PM #1602

Susie (Gerry Sue) Reichenbach (Tyler)

Dee-Since I said I would sponsor a door prize where do I deliver my door??????? Or I guess you would rather have money-do you want me to send you a check????? Hurry and let me know as payday was last Friday and I have to beat the repo man---

I could buy something but it would be for the wonderful ladies and I bet you would want me to get something for the guys BUT everyone loves dollars!!!!!!! What's your choice??

I think everyone needs a great big hug for getting on the message forum and having a good time. It's great to read everyone's stuff.

A little change in the subject... Carrol I remember somewhere mention was made about bringing canned goods to the reunion to help refill the food bank. Would $$ be ok? I think they have the ability to make $$ go alot further than me buying cases of canned goods at Costco and bringing them with me. What do you think?

Group Hug!!!!

Diane, I do remember living in Clute. We lived there when we came back from Venezuela before moving to Trinidad, 2nd or 3rd grade? Mrs. Little? I remember Clute elementary and Danny Kalischko was the fastest kid in school and ran barefoot. Now there is a useful piece of information - that wouldn't even help in a trivia game.
Collene and Nancy Carrier, thanks for asking about the donations. That reminds me to post a message on the homepage. The committee agrees with Collene that it would be far more efficient to take cash donations and the Brazosport Food bank could buy what they need.

Is that the Brazosport Cares Food Pantry? My dad, after he retired, loved volunteering there, driving around in his big ole Ford Pickup truck collecting donated food and delivering it to the food bank for distribution.

Exactly! Have NO IDEA why I called it the food bank, I don't think I ever called it that.

Another useful piece of trivia -

Mrs. Little's first name was I.V. She might have been the sweetest lady that ever was.

(I went to Clute elementary in kindergarten and 1st grade. My mother taught there for a few more years. I have very fond memories of those 2 years.)

I think I succeeded in uploading our Senior Class photo! It's under my profile, because I couldn't figure out how to put it on the homepage. Duh!

Can you all find yourselves?

07/27/09 09:12 PM #1609

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Good heavens, NO, I can't find myself! my bifocals aren't that strong but I remember I was standing next to you - misbehaving.

Oh, in the enlarged segments, yep, there we are for all eternity.

What is around Mickey Mixon's face? A belt? Muzzle? Why is my hand blacked out? I wasn't doing anything.

Strickland - maybe they thought you were doing the half peace sign ?

And what was Carrol Reneau Jeffers doing - practicing for her latent career in law enforcement.... ????

I saved the sectional slices as JPEG files with a right click, then when you pull them up the zoom allows us old people to at least see our classmates.
