Kitty Allison (Hilton)

Oh! Should I remove my # from the profile, too?!!
Thank you, Carrol!

08/09/09 09:05 PM #1738

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

No, Kitty, contact details & profile details YOU have control over and I just checked yours. You checked 'classmates only' have access to yours so ONLY registered members of the website can see your DETAILS (contact information, birthday, etc.) You could also uncheck it so even registered classmates couldn't access the details if you want, but then classmates couldn't get in touch with you.

Mike, we have spoken on the phone as I recall or is that a secret?

08/09/09 09:33 PM #1739

Mike Strickland

It was a secret

Hi!!! I just returned from the ranch a few hours ago!!! I saw Barneo, and he is huge...I am so happy I finally saw him! Whitetail bucks are smart, and when they are huge..they hide.

BEACH PARTY Info... everyone for Friday night after the game! It is located at 206 Starfish at Surfside Beach. Well, Carrol you are right...I cannot read Janie's directions. It is rented from Brannan Resort Rentals and the name of the property is Half Moon. You can see it under their website...see accommodations on this website. I think you turn right at the bridge...but not for sure yet! It is just a couple of blocks from the bridge! I will call them and get back with you all. It is yellow, and one of three houses that faces the beach. Hmmmm pray for rain before the reunion to lift the fire ban...WE need a bonfire!!!!! I think ya'll can park on the bridge and walk over to the house on the walk way. We can all bring some snacks, and I will have some too!!!
Well, maybe a fire pit on the porch to roast those weiners and marshmallows!!!

Miss Jolie is coming to see me tomorrow! haha...I bought her this baby doll that talks, eats, and poops! It even has a battery operated commode!!! She sucks a pacifier too!!! Her name is Baby Alive, and she winks her eyes at you!!! Actually, her eyes remind me of that Chuckie doll..kind of scarey! I hope Jolie likes her... she has crazy hair!!!!

We had fun romping on the ranch!!! Janie is a hoot!!! I gave her a facial...Janie you look 10 years younger!!! Hey...ya'll write her to come to the reunion!!! I love my sissy!!!! The moon was so bright out there...we went road hunting at night with a huge spot light!!! ( not with guns..only light!) The light blinds them so we could see them... but today they were hiding from us! Thank GOD Coleman opened a new steak restaurant...the food we at there last time was awful...road kill we called it!!!

Sweet dream everyone...Jolie is coming to play with me tomorrow!!! Yippppppeeeee!!!
Love to all.......zzzzzzzz
JOY!!! :0)

Strickland...I don't post often, tho I do read almost daily. But your msg about having your number posted & nobody called just begged out for someone (and I can't believe Carol or Dee or the numerous other souls who so love to play didn't take advantage of the way you left yourself wide open for numerous insults) to remind you that is really not something you want to brag about. But it could be worse...everyone could have the number and everyone could actually be calling, all day, all nite, all the time. Guess you could count that a blessing.Especially after reading all the hilarious msgs between you and your fans.
Joy...did you ever get the msg I left after you asked about anyone who had ever done the Adkins? I think it was you who asked way back wks ago. I sent an answer, but wasn't sure if it got to you. If it wasn't you who asked, maybe you remember who it was.
Nancy...Thanks for your response to my msg about your dad. My brothers and I are still talking about how great he was and memories we all have. But nothing makes it easier and for me, time was the only true healer.
Dee...Have you been enjoying any of the political msgs I sent? I especially loved one of the recent ones about the hwy kidnapping of admin officials and the collections being taken on their behalf. What did you think?
To everybody who is responsible for all the organization, constant updating, and even just those who contribute thru this msg forum....I have been amazed by all who have written their profiles, sent msgs on this forum....we are lucky to have such great classmates who are both intellectually stimulating (sometimes) and almost always unbelievably entertaining. I look fwd to reading and keeping up with everyone's lives, thoughts, plans, and whatever else is to come. Thank you all!!

Yesterday Gerry Sue & I merged our 2 lists (mails in & PayPals) to create the paid registration list. I've posted it on the homepage; please check to see if you are there. If you aren't, WHY AREN'T YOU? If your new registration is being 'processed', okay, give it a day or 2. Look & see who has not registered yet & E-NAG them & let them know how much you want to see them or give them a call. Some times we need reminding. If you SHOULD be on the list, contact Gerry Sue if you mailed it in or me if you PayPaled it (Alice is in Pittsburgh).

Jd Barnett:

Carrol I promise not to call you any more. Kitty and Joy either. I'll call Bruce K. because he is either way more or way less insane than you guys, can't figure out which.

08/10/09 10:30 AM #1744

Kitty Allison (Hilton)

Jim, how is it I got on the "insane" list?!

08/10/09 10:32 AM #1745

Jd Barnett:

Kitty, you're either on the not insane or really insane list. I can't figure out which is which. That's a clue, my shrink says.

Let's say you're on the not insane list. It'll probably go better that way.

08/10/09 12:26 PM #1746

Dee Allen

Carol -

How come there are no females on this insane list? Check out Joy then look in the mirror for the next candidate. Don't worry about Strickland and me - Joe B. is the one threatening to bring a chainsaw to the reunion.

08/10/09 12:39 PM #1747

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Marian, I never specified gender on the squirrel list, I never said 'insane' and I never, NOT ONCE on this topic, said any part of your name. As an attorney,a father and an avid chick flick fan, you think it is a good idea for women who are traveling alone to post their cell numbers on the WORLD WIDE WEB? (BTW, it just so happens - EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT BRING IT UP - statistically, serial killers and their ilk are of the male variety.)

Carrol and Ilk,

Squirrel- Tree dwelling rodent with a bushy tail. Better known in nature speak as a Tree Rat.
To those the reference was intended,(not me I'm sure)just remember they have people. Ever seen what spiked Gumbo can do to a person? I't ain't a pretty site. The Posse has spoken.

08/10/09 01:00 PM #1749

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Jim, could you hook Glenn Mallory up with your psychiatrist? He thinks he is The Posse all by himself. Gumbo threats are empty, I'm allergic to all food competitions. You might want to let Judge Huff know though. If a senior English grade is rescinded, does that render all subsequent degrees null and void? Sheeesh.

08/10/09 03:47 PM #1750

Dee Allen

Carol -
I must not have a criminal mind. How can someone get killed over a cell phone? Most of us posted our addresses on our profile. I would be more worried about someone showing up at my house than I would be if they called me on my cell phone, ax in hand.

The Blond's husband was tired of calling home everyday and finding his wife gone and unable to answer the phone. He insisted that she get a cell phone, which she did. One day she was shopping and her cell phone rang. Upon answering it, she discovered it was her husband calling. She said, "Honey, I'm so glad you called but how did you know I was at Wal-Mart?"

She was relieved that it was not a serial killer calling. He would have known she was at Wal-Mart.

08/10/09 03:51 PM #1751

Margaret Dubois (Ammons)

I guess we don't want heavy breathers using up all our cell minutes.

08/10/09 04:02 PM #1752

Jd Barnett:

Carrol, my shrink is a guy, so hooking Mallory up with him won't work.

Who or what is Ilk? A Minion?

I'd missed that about Joe's chain saw. Thanks, Dee. We can all keep an eye on him.

Judge Huff might well recuse herself if she finds out that she'll be eating spiked squirrel gumbo, but save some for me.

At this point in my life I give a rat's butt neither
about my senior English grade nor any subsequent degrees, even the diminishing degree of sanity around here.

my chainsaw was to be brought for cutting firewood not for chainsaw massacre but Jim or Dee I will rent it out. By the way Jim I thought us surveyors were the half a bubble off plumb

Glenn -

My recipe for fried tree rat.

quarters of 10-12 squirrels (making sure all scent glands are removed)
2 Large Onions, chopped coarsely
4 cups celery, chopped coarsely
Salt
Black Pepper
Enough water to cover squirrels in large pot
Flour
Oil
5 cups whole milk (half and half is better)

Bring water to a boil with all ingredients except. squirrels.
Once water begins to boil, add squirrel quarters.
Boil until squirrel begins to turn loose from the bone.

Boiling the rats before frying really makes them tender – otherwise, they may be like boot soles.

Remove squirrel from boiling water and let cool.

Dredge squirrel quarters in seasoned flour (salt, black pepper).
Fry in hot oil, in a cast iron skillet, until golden brown.
Drain squirrels on paper towels.

While squirrels are draining.
Pour all but four (4) Table spoons of oil from skillet leaving all the crunchy crud behind.
Salt and Pepper to taste (lots of pepper).
Add milk (1/2 and 1/2) and let simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until spoon remains coated.

Great with biscuits and mashed potatoes.

Serves one person who really likes squirrel - - like me.

08/10/09 04:34 PM #1755

Jd Barnett:

Mom used to sort the squirrels I brought home into two piles: fryers (the really young ones) and stew squirrels (the rest). She would fry the young ones just like chicken. They were awesome. If my brother shot any, you had to look out for birdshot when you ate them because he used a 20 gauge.

The stew was good, too.

Dee's recipe sounds great.

Joe, it ain't just surveyors...

Judy Teague (Crenshaw)

OK, Carrol, I have finished licking my wounds and sucking my thumb.

Thank you Dee Ann for coming to my defense.

I am looking forward to the phone numbers. I will probably be calling all the way to Freeport.

From all of the info. I have gotten from the area, I think one of those hurricanes came through and moved out my old L.J., Clute, and Freeport and moved in a metropolis like a chunk of Houston or San Antonio. I don't recognize any of it.

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Joe and Joy....we really started something with our beach party. I have received alot of emails where everyone is so excited about the PARTY. They are wanting to know what to bring, etc. Are we still on with the hotdogs and marshmellows?

Went to Galveston yesterday and Carrol I saw our "60th B'day" cruise ship. It was in the process of taking off. I can't believe how hugh they are. I love Galveston. It is starting to get back to "normal".

Judy, we ALL love you!

Glenn Mallory**

Jim,
Thanks for getting me unhooked so to speak. I knew an old carpenter whose battle cry was if its within half a bubble, nail it!

Dee,
Fried tree rat brings back a lot of great memories. We also use to barbeque, and make dumplings to go along with the little rats. Most kids today don't have a clue.

Squirrel Stew!! Yummers I had it once growing up and loved it! Marian, Joy, Margaret and all you beach blanket crowd lets get it down to what everyone is gonna bring etc. Steve Landers metioned helping and if we can figure size of the the crowd....well if everyone brought enough something for them (couples) we would have plenty. Like if people want to drink byob.... we can make some sun tea green for the greenies and brown for others I can bring a couple of coolers and ice chests and ice. Do we really want to pig out or just snack. What does everyone think. How late is it gonna be after the game? I really think the fire if we can have one is the big thing with drinks, hot dogs,(squirrel),chips, beans, smores, etc. would work for me. Open for suggestions from the sane and insane. How hard is it to find wood near the beach?

Glenn I do surveys in Stephenville area...in fact got a 280 acre survey to do tomorrow near Gorman... my son plans to go to Tarleton

Hey Joy,
I just read that you got Jolie a Baby Alive. My grand daughter got one last Christmas. You're right, those eyes are kind of "Chuckie like". The first time the doll pooped in the potty, Karley started gagging so badly that she wouldn't have anything to do with the doll for some time afterward. Now when I go to their house the doll is just sitting on the bench in her playroom. I asked my daughter if she ever plays with the doll and she said sometimes, but they only let it peepee now. It's a "no poopy" doll. Aren't grand daughters fun? I've been taking care of Karley most of the summer while my daughter finished up her thesis and worked with a client 3 days a week. Now my daughter has started a new job. It's her first time to work since Karley was born so it's been pretty hard. My daughter will be a behavior specialist for Huntsville school district where I work teaching 5 and 6 year old kids with autism. My daughter will also be in charge of the autism program for the district. I guess that makes her my new boss! Larry really thinks that's funny and has been rubbing it in. Joy, the pictures of Jolie are sooooo cute. I should post some of my cute baby, but to be honest, I don't know exactly how to do that. Karley turned four in July and has big blue eyes and blonde curls that are out of this world. We can't go anyplace that people don't comment about her curls. It scares her sometimes when people come up and touch her curls (I guess she should get used to it).
