Great news about Michael.
Maria, go for the Mustang or the pickup. Either would be fun.

I've been sitting in staff development meetings since last Thursday. How much more can they development me? I'm just ready for the kids to get back to school, so I can start having some fun again. I really do love the kids, but this might be my last year to teach. Kids come on Monday.

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

ok here comes my input....Maria take the money and then buy a corvette (may have to add a little) and then you can do the circuit with Winona. Oh yeah, make it a convertible. (Do they make those)? I dated a guy that had just return home from Viet Nam and he had a sting ray convertible. WOW

I did not doubt that the Lord would give us a good report on Michael. We need Michael!

ALICE LEE DAY SMITH - just so the rest of you know. Alice lives in Houston and she has come to every single reunion planning meeting except one - that's a 150 mile ROUND TRIP EVERY TIME (from where she lives). Once she called in EXHAUSTED because she also travels internationally preaching and teaching. That time she had about circled the globe in 30 days or some equally grueling schedule; remember, she's our age. If you want to know her schedule, check out http://www.eddieandalice.com/events.html She is just as petite and precious as we remember. She's raised 4 children and looks like maybe, MAYBE, she could be in her 30's and honestly, I'm pretty sure she weighs what she did the night we graduated. I've gotten the applause for this website but truly Alice made this happen. She had the idea and discovered classcreator.com. I do the grunt work and add the flash, etc. but Alice is the one who knew it was a possibility. Alice still sparkles and shines and we have all been so fortunate to have her working on this reunion. She’s been motivated when some of us would have been satisfied to show up and eat. Alice has sacrificed MUCH of her time & energy to make this reunion happen. We all need to hug her neck in September. If you live locally and really want to show her how much you appreciate her sacrifice, stop by the LJ city hall and buy her a roll of trash bags, she loves 'em! If Eddie could get here, he would never have to buy another diamond.
P.S. (She knew in high school what some of us had to grow up before we learned . . . hasn't she been patient with us?)

Dee Ann Trout (Glenn)

Thank you sweet Alice for all you have done. Can't wait to give you a big hug in September!

Praise GOD for the wonderful news of Michael's surgery...but I did really feel that he would make it through just fine! Michael...want to talk to you about Mannatech... I don't sell it, but do believe that our food chain is lacking in proper nutrients for a healthy immune system. Our cells are the building blocks of the immune system, and without healthy cells our immune system will fail. Cancer is an immune dysfunction, as are most of our diseases. I am not going to bombard you now, but will discuss this with you later!!! I am so happy you are doing well!!! Yippppeeeee Yipppeeee Yipeeeee!!!!!

Ok...yeah Maria...sell the auto..buy a Corvette or M3 BMW!!!!! LOL...convertible!!!!!! Love to ride with the top down in winter with the heater on!!!!! Just thinking about it gives me "goose bumps"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alice....WOW you are awesome, and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for all you have done to make our reunion a success!!! I know at times you must be so exhausted, but you are a trooper!!!! GOD bless you sweetie for your love and sacrifice. You shine, shine, shine....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love you, JOY!!!! :0)
I just want to thank everyone for your kind words and encouragement that you all give!!! It is a blessing to be a part of the Class of 1969!!!!! :0)))))))))))

Love,
JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0)

Tana Shreves (Maddox)

I agree with Joy - Alice thanks for all you have done. I have not been keeping up with the messages so I am trying to get "caught up" on all the news. I am very proud to be a part of the class of 1969! What a wonderful group of people! I have enjoyed reading all of the messages - what an encouraging group! I am very proud of our class. I look forward to seeing everyone!

Susie (Gerry Sue) Reichenbach (Tyler)

Yes thanks to Alice as I think the creation of this website has brought the Class of '69 closer as friends. I knew a lot of the folks in school who are on the different committee's but maybe didn't talk to them and it has been a true blessing to have the chance to network with them on this reunion. I think the message forum has helped in all of us lifting up classmates who are in need of prayer and support. We have gone our different ways in life with family and jobs but we are now connecting as friends again and thats GREAT!!!!
Staying in this area I don't see classmates and if I do maybe I don't recognize them, remember we are older, and now wear glasses so I'm very anxious to see everyone at the reunion- (ain't even going to talk about weight thing)
Anyway I totally enjoy the message forum and Alice and Carrol are WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got in from the hospital and surgery went well, although a bit longer than anticipated - 4 hours. The mass extracted was hard as rock, and looked infected. The on-site pathology was inconclusive, but Dr. Briggs felt the worst case scenario would be a low grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma. But it could be non-cancerous. We should get final results in the next couple of days, but what a fantastic outcome. The mass was across all five nerves that go through the parotid salivary gland, and the entire gland was removed. So, I am home, with 25 stitches, and a pretty good size indention in my lower left jaw - and plans are to not cover the indentions or fill in as it could delay detection if there is any type of recurrence.

That God Fella is amazing, and appreciate everyone's prayers, thoughts and encouragement. It never ceases to amaze me what a great class we were / are still today. It is ironic how I stumbled unon this website, made a planning meeting, and then watched as Carrol and Alice got it clicking. It certainly provided me a great support system when I needed it the most. Thanks again, and looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion to show off my scar / facial indention.

And as far as my cuz Maria Seidler Atkins winning a new car at Shrimp Boil....if I remember correctly I did not get birthday gift on my 58th BD last year, and a one year usage of whichever one of those fine rides would seem to be an appropriate way to make up this serious oversight - and nice get well bonus gift. Why don't you and Oron drive it for a month, and then make a trip to Austin to drop it off !!

Michael: Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Surgeons are overworked and I refuse to have surgery performed in the afternoons - I've had my share and I've paid a price for a "tired" surgeon.

Maria: Take the money and pay off any debt you have. I live completely debt free and you can't know the joy of owning everything you have and knowing that no one can ever repossess it - that is if the country or our financial system goes to heck. Put some in a rainy day account. Forget the car. It's temporary at best. Of course, some people would say it is "found money" so blow it! But I know (think) you are a sensable person.

Alice: What a gal! Words can't describe.

Anne Vickers (Ondrusek)

I am posting a response to Kitty Allison coming to the 20th class reunion in a blue sparklely gown with blue mascar. I can beat that shock value. I brought my shock value to the 20 yr. reunion. His name was RA Hilder. He looked mean and was. He was an ex-navy SEAL, 3 tours in Viet N. Had his hair in a pony tail. I think he still was working with the State Dept. ( doing God knows what) Could bench press me ( probably not now). He scared little children and liked to shoot big guns. I don't think anyone talked to him that night, just gawked. He really was scarry but a great friend. I will tone it down this year. I will bring my wonderful husband. He's not scarry just bald. We went to his reunion a couple of weeks ago. He grad. 1969 Lamar LCISD. They had a combined 10yr 1960-1970 reunion with The Triumphs. It was great. We ought to think about that sometime. OK I'm quiting now, once you get me started .

That game of tic tac toe is AWFUL !!!!!!!!!!! When your viewing this site at work and everyone thinks your working then it screams bloody murder at you it's hard to say "Oh just an irate customer!!!! Really I'm working" Carrol you got us, it really is hysterical-- reminds me of some relatives (oops sorry!!)
Ya'll have fun with it.

Michael: Glady your home, don't worry about any scars - we probably all have a lot of them - some we can show and others are better to stay covered up, if you know what I mean!!

Kathy thank you for the encouragement. Janie checked with a cardiologist to make sure the Adkins diet is safe. He said studies are showing that people are very healthy after losing weight on this diet!! I know one thing for sure...I feel better!!!!! Janie and I agree that you stop eating as large of portions because you aren't hungry after the carbs are flushed out of your system. Janie has lost 15 pounds, and I have lost close to 30 pounds!!! It has been fun to do it with my sister, and my brother-in-law!!!

Look so forward to seeing you and everybody!!!!
Love ya girl,
JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0)

Tana Shreves (Maddox)

Michael,
So glad to hear everything went well with the surgery. What great news! God is definitely great!!

I am going to wait to play the tic tac toe game until I get home - I might scare all of my customers! And we definitely don't need to scare customers off in this economy.

Spoke to Beverly Johnston today & she has decided to come to the reunion. At first she was not going to come - if you get a minute, let her know how glad we are she is coming!! Can't wait to see everyone.

TMI on Joy growing an additional buttock...
*******************************************************
says the man who posted and claimed a stranger's colonoscopy picture as his own.
precious,special carrol

*******************************************************

It could be my colonoscopy picture. It's possible.

Besides, you asked for a colonoscopy picture. It wasn't my idea. At least you haven't asked for a picture of Joy's third buttock.

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

So, Dee Ann what ARE you wearing if not the funeral/wedding suit and not the slinky, sparkly dress?

08/19/09 08:44 PM #1908

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Tana, what are you wearing?

08/19/09 08:45 PM #1909

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Marian, since it doesn't matter, what are you and the extra 20 pounds wearing?

08/19/09 08:45 PM #1910

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

What's the new skinny Joy wearing?

08/19/09 08:47 PM #1911

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Dee, why don't you see if alterations can be made to Kitty's cobalt blue dress with the cut-outs and you can wear it. Wonder what Cheryl would say to THAT?
