Poehl,

I've been out of circulation for a week. Just did some back reading to catch up. Janet and I will pray that you have a full and complete recovery.

Girls, Girls, Girls,

I say we see who's too full of pride and vanity to wear spandex.

you first

Okay...here's one I should weigh-in on!! At the 20-year reunion, I wore a cobalt blue sequined dress with a cut-out!! It was great in Hollywood at the time, but quite the talk at the reunion. I have a pic of John and I as we left the hotel/motel for the reunion dinner/dance. Just remember it was the 80's, big hair and all!! AND blue mascara would have really topped off that outfit! Cheryl's comment as I walked in has haunted me since! Trust me I'll be more conservative at our 40th!

Ok people, you have to know I did not really mean I would wear such an outfit. It would be grotesque with this 58 year old body. I am really going for stretchy, stretchy comfortable. I will not be dressing up because I pledged to never dress up again after I retired. I do have 1 funeral/wedding suit, but you will not see it. Maybe I will choose to wear the reunion shirt all three days. I think whatever people choose to wear will be just fine, however, Kitty, I would love to see the same dress you wore to the 20th. I bet you can still fit into it. I think we will all be beautiful and handsome no matter what we wear!

Margaret Dubois (Ammons)

I would like to see Dee in spandex. You can be sure I won't be wearing it-that would be too much like wearing those girdles we used to torture ourselves with. Just remember that it is September in Texas-likely to be in the mid 90's with tons of humidity-loose and cool is the by-word. I bet Kitty was gorgeous-she always was.

Donna Billie (Jones)

Hi, Michael--Todd and I are sending more prayers your way. I know you'll be fine. I also know the C-word is pretty scary, even when the prognosis is excellent. I was in the middle of radiation therapy when we attended the practice reunion at your house. I was determined that I would not be slowed down, and I wasn't. Love to you and your family.

O.K. Girls,

I went first. See me in spandex at my profile update. Now it's y'alls turn.

Dee Ann Trout (Glenn)

Dee I will be looking forward to seeing you in that spandex.
I can tell that all that working out you have been doing is certainly working! I think that outfit will help keep you cool as you cook your world famous kick ass gumbo.

Carrol Reneau (Jeffers)

Dee Ann, you would be precious (and I mean that in a very nice way, not how Alice means it when she says it to me - refer to post #1894) in a slinky sparkler. You DO NOT look any where near our age.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: DO NOT GO TO DEE'S PROFILE TO SEE THE SPANDEX PICTURE WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE. I am currently looking for a sharp stick which is hard to find on the 5th floor of the courthouse.

Too late, Carrol-I don't know if I'll ever recover. But that was kind of like the girdles we used to wear-better Dee than me. LOL!

Hey cuz,

Michael, I am going to be praying for a successful and speedy recovery. I can't imagine anything but the best for you, as you are such a special person in many of our lives. You have always had such a positive attitude about everything in life and this is what has made you the awesome person you are.........and funny too.

Kathy, Nick, Chris and Heather....you are in our prayers too. Keep us informed as to the results of the surgery and of Mike's recovery.

Love you guys,
Maria

P.S. I hope to take you for a spin in my new car Michael so get well quick.

Maria Seidler (Atkins)

Hey everyone!

I was so excited to hear that I had won the grand prize from the Brazosport Rotary Club Shrimp Boil. I was in Dallas on Saturday when my name was drawn as one of the seven finalist. Corky Melass, sold me the ticket, and then drew for the key to start the car.......and he picked the winning key. Yea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get a choice of a 2009 Chevy Silverado Texas Edition Truck, a 2009 Ford Mustang GT, a 2009 Honda Accord XTL, or a 2009 Dodge Challenger, or I can take the money or I can pick something else. Oron wants the Truck, and me being the practical one wants the Honda Accord.......but a part of me would love to drive the Ford Mustang GT or Dodge Challenger. Anyway.....it will be fun and exciting whichever we decide.

I have been very lucky in life but this beats all.

Maria

Dear all, I've only occasionally been able to read through sections of our Message Forum and am continually BLOWN AWAY at what a great group of folks were in our class!! It's been both hilarious and uplifting to read the entries.

Maria, CONGRATULATIONS on winning A FREAKIN' CAR!!! What an awesome prize. Doesn't sound like you could make a bad choice among the lot.

Carrol, what an amazing job you've done with all your communications, website photo slideshows. Thank you for all your hard work.

Gotta get busy. Yes, I'm writing from work. shhhh. Later...

Has anyone heard about Michael's surgery?

08/18/09 04:14 PM #1882

Kevin Kemp

I looked on here for info on Michael's surgery. I went down the hall and told one of the other people here that there was no update and he said that he had received an email.

Just an update from the hospital: Surgery went perfectly this morning, and the mass appears to have been completely contained. They won't have pathology results for about 3 days, but the indications are that this was most likely a low-grade cancer, not too serious. On behalf of the entire family, thank you all so much for your support and love the last few weeks. We couldn't have done it without you. Dad will be in touch when he wakes up.

Love,
Nick, Chris, and Kathy

Thank you, Kevin. I just got a chance to post the same and found you had taken care of it. Yes, just before 11:00 this a.m. Alan Weddell was with the family and texted '...surgery went excellent - 100 percent successful!' and a few minutes later the family sent out their message. To God goes the glory.

Michael, so glad to hear the surgery went well. I will continue to pray for a speedy recovery. Thanks to everyone for keeping us informed.

Maria, go for the Mustang & let's go for a ride!

I'm still trying to learn how to write messages. Why do my messages have "delete" or "edit" on them? I don't like computers but love being able to talk to everyone!!
*******************************************************
Glad you joined the chat! Gee, Tana, I don't know. Do you have a foreign made computer? No one else's has the 'delete' or 'edit' messages on them. How odd. What happens when you click on them? What color are they?
