My husband wanted to know if we were going to "twirl" Friday night. Oh my - what a sight that would be! 58 year old females twirling - not sure my body can do what we use to do. I told him I could probably "march" but no jumps or "twirling around". I actually DO know where my baton is & I may bring it for "old time sake". When I tried to show my niece how to "twirl" a few months ago, my fingers just didn't work like they use to. But I think it is a great thought - we could lead our 69 class in cheers & twirls. Can't wait to see everyone. I will be praying for everyone's safe travel. Can't wait to taste the gumbo - and I don't know how to play bonco either but I'll be there!! Love all of you!
Alice, thank you for reminding us to hug everyone - even if we don't remember them!! Sometimes we like to stay in our "comfort zone". That is a wonderful thought - so everyone get ready......hugs are on the way. If I haven't said it - thanks to you, Carrol & the whole reunion committee for all the hard work & commitment in creating this wonderful reunion, especially the website. I do believe the website is the "bonding factor" for our reunion. It has given all of us an opportunity to "re-connect" & to get to know other classmates that maybe we did not know in high school. I truly believe the website has made us all grow closer. Thanks to all of you!!
Well Tanya what do you think about me? I'm marching in with the band on Friday and Mr Crummel asked me if I still had my clarinet and I said no...didn't ask me if I still knew how to play it..but anyways, he said he would sit me next to the 1st chair clarinet so that I could just blend in...do he actually expect me to play it?? It should be fun anyways.
Mary - thats great!! I didn't know that we could march in the band. My husband asked me that & I said "I don't think they will let us do that!". I thought it was funny that they would let us "play" in the band. It's been 40 yrs since I played the French horn!! I think that is great that you will be marching - I will be looking for you. Those were great memories!! I told my husband that I thought the best band memories were marching from the band hall, across 288 to the football field to the drum cadace & marching off the field to "Anchors Away"! What a thrill! See you Friday.
Tana, I am going to march with the band from the band hall to the stands and sit with them during the game...not marching on the field with them...you can do the same thing if you want..Mr. Crummel is providing the instruments...just email him at jcrummel@brazosportisd.net if you want to participate.
Went shopping today at Maria's Forever Treasures-spent way too much money, but actually stopped myself. I really wanted more. BLING BLING! Gumbo in the frig-just chillin' waiting for Saturday.
Cook-off contestants, Dee called this afternoon while he was on the road. Took the opportunity to poke him a little that y'alls' flavors were already marrying and that sure did put him behind. He was talking as if the gumbo prize was already his . . . hope he isn't the crying kind of guy. By the way, he doesn't have computer access for awhile so feel free . . .
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night. Just saw Michael Poehl's plea for tequilla. I raided our liquor cabinet and put our supply by the door so I don't forget it. Hasta manana!
Oh my goodness.....Had my dress I was wearing hanging up in my office and some how the dog got inside the house.....sorry can't talk about it!!!! Don't know what to do. I do not know when I will have time to get something else to wear. Oh goodness. Well, this isn't going to stop me. I don't care if I have to wear a flour sack (didn't they use to do that)I'm going to be there. If you see me, just look me straight in my eyes. lol I feel like a child at Christmas. I can't sleep and so excited. I can't wait til tomorrow night. See ya then. God's Blessings, Marian
Marian, it was a dress. Bad dog. I'll just bet you have something else in your closet. Mmmmm, I didn't shop, I'm wearing what I got . . . oh, I have a new red t-shirt for Friday night! It is a designer shirt but I don't think it is one of a kind . . . but it is a Limited Edition and is available to a select few.
***************************************************** Tana Marie, in post #2066 you said, '58 year old females twirling - not sure my body can do what we use to do.' I am so impressed and amazed - NOT SURE? NOT SURE??? My body can't do what it did LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME MUCH LESS 40 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!! special, precious carrol (i'm thinking of having my name legally changed)
If you wake up and don't want to smile, If it takes just a little while, Open your eyes and look at the day, You'll see things in a different way.
Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow, Don't stop, it'll soon be here, It'll be, better than before, Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.
Why not think about times to come, And not about the things that you've done, If your life was bad to you, Just think what tomorrow will do.
Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow, Don't stop, it'll soon be here, It'll be, better than before, Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.
All I want is to see you smile, If it takes just a little while, I know you don't believe that it's true, I never meant any harm to you.
Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow, Don't stop, it'll soon be here, It'll be, better than before, Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.
Count us in for the restaurant after the football game....and Patty Pasztor-Williams & Larry.
I got a little bit of good news this week. My CT scan came back with no new growths and the spots that have been there have not changed. Plus my tumor markers are down to 250.
Just got an update on Suzette Kluge, I think she'll be bringing her baton, boots, and plume. I'll bring the Depends. **************************************************** hold 1 or 2 back for me, my laughing gets waaaaaay out of hand when YOU are around. s.p. carrol
Ok. I have a problem - I need a gumbo taster! My allergies are making it impossible for me to tell if I have a good pot going! Tommy Palmer, where are you?
Collene - Fantastic news on the medical front, and it will only get better. You are top of our prayer list. See you and Chuck tonight. Don't run over us on the highways today.
S. P. Carrol ?? - thanks for the nice video, but zebras can't get their stripes changed with one or two postings, so hold on that name change - You ARE BOSS LADY !!!
Your humble servant - Drover a.k.a. Mike the Midget, Michael, or maybe something else.
See everyone at the registration booth tonight. Travel safely.
That's great news - what a great way to start off the reunion. Had trouble sleeping last night - I'm so excited to see everyone. Everyone be careful traveling!
