To all my brothers and sisters from the class of 69, my thanks and love go out to each one of you. The weekend was one of the most remarkable events in my life. I realize how much each one of you played a role in who I am, where I came from, and why now I am at such peace. I just want to say thank you all, for being who you are, and for filling my weekend with Love. To all those I missed, I'm sorry, to all I talked to, you were all a blessing. John Devens As I'm sitting here waiting for a phone call to go to Cypress, Tx. for the birth of our 5th grandchild I've been reflecting on the reunion. Isn't God amazing to allow us to get together and have a wonderful time. Committee you did an awesome job. THANK YOU! Got my phone call and the baby is not ready. Dr. says probably next week. Susie and I had a great time seeing everyone.

Saturday night, when I realized they were going to have a drawing, I quickly searched my purse and pulled out a ticket. Waiting for the number to be called, I glanced over at Danny Penvose's ticket and asked him why ours looked so different. He laughed and said, "Because yours is from the BALLGAME!!" Then to the next several people who walked up, he announced, "Hey, guess what...Harkreader tried to win something w/ her BALLGAME ticket!" We got a really big laugh out of it.

I wanted to say thank you for posting the "In Memory" slide that was shown at the reunion. It means so much to everyone, but really special for the loved ones/friends that these awesome people left behind. My daughter and son asked if anything was done and I told them about the slide show. I will let her see it next time she comes by. She also likes to view any comments about her dad that classmates have left. Both of his children were very close to him and things like this are very special after time has passed.

God bless all of the planning committee, helpers and class attending the reunion. May God touch each person in your class in a special way. Those that are serving Him as preachers, teachers, disciples, missionaries, mothers, fathers, friends...I hope this time of revival of old memories, friendship and making of new ones will refresh you as you continue your walk...God uses all of us and we can see it every day by the way we reach out to each other on our message forums.

John Devens For those of you who remember Bobby Morrow, one of our high school counselors, Bobby had a massive heart attack Monday, 9/7/09. He has had some slight improvement but is still bad. Please put him on your prayer lists.

Hi everyone....thanks for the prayers about the Rattle snakes...didn't even see one!!! Thank you GOD!!!!

Oh....we did have a big spider, and if you could have seen my nephew you would have fallen in the floor laughing!!!! He and all of my sons hate bugs and spiders!!! It is hilarious...he wrapped himself tight in the sheet because he thought the bugs were after him!!! A black beetle was on the attack!!!Dirt dobbers love to fly in the cabin!!!! They like my decor I guess!!! Actually, for the country we haven't even had any red bugs...that crystal seven dust works great!!! I am just so happy we don't have scorpions and centipedes!!! We never have a dull moment out there, and Brady was shocked to see the racks on my babies!!! Barneo was trying to hide from me again...but we saw him!!! They are enjoying all they can eat buffet this summer!!! The does are the size of bucks!!! It is shocking, and you know us Texas people we want the biggest!!! Hahahaha...my Daddy and Randy are laughing from Heaven!!!! They both were avid sportsmen, and I think GOD let's them take a peek now and then!!!!

Marian....I am taking a group out to the ranch on Oct. 3rd, but I will take the next group when you are here that next weekend. We have 4 queen sized beds, and one downstairs, and two couches. It sleeps 7-10 comfortably, and that makes a great group!!!! We will probably do facials, and all go romping, roast marshmallows, play monopoly (I am a winnner!!!) I have already talked to the Steak house, and they said to call to make reservations! They are awesome people!!! Let me know if that works for you! Karen King, Dee Ann, and Colleen I think are planning to come out there then. Call me...so we can set the date! We can go Friday and Saturday, and come back Sunday to Austin. Yes, dinner sounds great while you are here!! We will have a great time!!!

Karen...so proud of you going on the facial program and losing weight!!! You are gorgeous, and will just be drop dead gorgeous now on your programs!!! Come to the ranch if you can...we will have facials!!! Maybe with some eggs and oatmeal...hahahaha!!!

Hi Kathy...I'm having withdrawls too...from ya'll and sugar!!! LOL!!! Well, actually I got sick from eating some cobbler, and a few bites of pecan pie!!! You don't think I have an allergy now to sugar?!! I laughed about you trying to win a door prize with your football ticket!! Come see me girl....would love to spend some time with you too!!!!

Judy...everytime I saw you at the reunion you were smiling from ear to ear...you have such a pretty smile that lights up your face!!!! Come back to Texas!!!!! I would love to see your smile everyday!!!! What you said about GOD giving us glorified bodies makes sense to me!!! I hope mine holds up really well because I am going to do alot of laughing, loving, singing, and dancing in Heaven!!!! Hope GOD gives me some new, smaller feet!!!

MRS Huff...Janie and I have laughed so much about what you wrote on my Road Kill chili certificate!!! "Your concoction of chili has too many brownies...but one whiff took 10 years off my face!!!" Heh heh...you did great with Janie...I have to use a dictionary to discipher what she is saying!!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!!

Michael...bless your heart you did get so much attention with your boo boo, and so don't you worry about your pictures because I think you look great with boo boo's and all!!!!! The best part about you... is you are hilarious!!!!!! Thank you for honoring the whole committee...ya'll are awesome...thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEWS FLASH>>>>>before I forget about the Facial Program Instruction>>>>> When exfoliating around the eye area the machines are harsh, and you need to lightly exfoliate with your fingers! Remember, the eyes have dead skin, and this will make them look better, reduce puffiness, and fine lines over time!! EYE CREAM at our age is MANDANTORY!!! Kiels is really a good one, and Dermalogica has several good ones!!! Ladies you can even put it over your make up under your eyes...just pat on, and this will soften the eyes!!! Speaking of Freedom...when I was dancing at the reunion...I felt like I was break dancing in college!!! Gosh, I was getting down so much ya'll that I had a massage today for a strained muscle!!! Hahahahaha!!!!
Well.............I always get loosey goosey when I listen to music and dance!!! I wanted to roll around with Todd and Buddy, but feared ya'll would have to get a crane to get me off the floor!!!! Hahahahaha.... Marian...let's go salsa dancing when you come!!! Yipppppppeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Steve....why wait until the 45th...how about a birthday cruise next summer in June? How many are signing up for the birthday cruise? Yipppppppppeee we will have a great time!!! Marian...let's go shopping for our clothes!!!!

Sweet Judy Burkes McGough Pinkard....Janie is mine too!!! She had me screaming laughing about a story she told about Daddy! She said that she cooked him breakfast one morning...an omlet...her first!!! She said Daddy had this horrified look on his face when he realized that he had bitten into a roach! He became very ill, and said, "The worst is that half of him is gone!!" My Daddy was the most hilarious man I have ever known! More stories later...........

Cynthia...hi! I didn't know you worked for Daddy and Uncle Sandy?!! I knew that Judy Henson and Vicki did.. Guess I better get some of that ginko...losing memory!!! Hahahahahaha Yeah...Daddy was a looker, and the ladies did chase him!!!!! One even came to the bathroom window one night thinking it was his room..it was Janie's room and she almost had a heart attack!!!

I always remember 9-11 and ask GOD to comfort their loved ones. It is and always will be a very sad day for America. GOD Bless America, and keep Her safe.

Hello each and every one of you!
I got back to Colorado Springs late Wednesday night and can't shake the feeling that I DON'T BELONG HERE! I should be back in high school, seeing all of you everyday with the appreciation that I am surrounded by very warm, REAL people who will be my friend and continue to enrich my life forever.

To Alice and Carrol---words can't express the immensity of the gift that you two gave our class. To all of the important support staff that also spent countless hours working on the reunion, a heart felt Thank you. My gosh, just reading some of the posts clarifies that we all had more than a great time. It was a life affirming event and a true blessing.

Please keep me posted on any Austin events (we are there frequently), cruise updates, birthday parties, prayer requests, births, skin care tips...

It was great for the committee to work on the reunion together. We had "loads" of fun each meeting!!!

Are you REALLY interested in a cruise? One that leaves from Galveston? (the most reasonable) I have a travel agent license, although I use it mostly for airfare. DO WE HAVE A CLASSMATE THAT HAS A LICENSE BUT DOES MOSTLY CRUISES? Let me know.

We don't have to wait for 5 years to do this...If we want a cruise what about 1.5 years from now, or even sooner?

For all of you who thanked me for working on the reunion, I LOVED IT!

Can you believe the weekend went by sooooooooooooo fast?

The weekend was not long enough! I didn't talk to so many people I wanted to see.
I have posted the pineapple and cucumber salsa recipes on my profile. Just remember to be careful with the jalapenos; one or two isn't bad, but when you cut and seed 5 or more, wear gloves and don't wipe your eyes with your hands! Food processors are great for most of the chopping. ENJOY!

The teachers in our class prefer cruising in June (Judy, Nell, etc......hurricane season is later! I have received many emails, and everyone is so excited about going on a cruise!!! We all need more time to connect!!!! The weekend went by so fast...I need more time with ya'll! I am a one on one kind of person I will be happy to help you Alice or be in charge! I take orders well, and I am a get it done kind of woman!!!! Janie might come too, and the Garrett sisters get it done!!! Right Janie? Gerry Sue said she would too! She is going on a cruise in a few weeks!
Oh, Alice...your family is so beautiful, and you are blessed to have them close in Houston and Katy! My 3rd son, Chuck is in Ministry in Los Angeles...director of connect groups! You would love him, and all my sons!!! I bet your children adore you!!!

Marian...sounds great, and I will talk to you tomorrow about upcoming plans for the ranch "romping!!!" Have fun at the game! I hang out with Jolie almost everyday...she loves her Nanny! Thanks Joe for the birthday song. It was so appropriate since I teach kindergarten.

I think this cruise thing is getting serious. I am ready and my mom can't believe it because I always said I wouldn't take a cruise because I don't like tight places (narrow halls and small rooms). But I think I am brave now because I will be with ya'll!!

Sign me up and I will even bring my hubby on this one.

Joy, wish I was close enough to go to your ranch. Be sure to post pictures of the "girl's weekend".
