Debbie Holland (Phillips)

Steve, how interesting. Is the half marathon for St. Jude here in Memphis? I would have come out and cheered you on! Glad to hear there is a CHANCE you might come to the reunion. Thanks for sharing. I really was going to stop bothering you after the last email (okay, maybe!).

Steve,
If you are in C'ville try the BBQ at Daylight Donut. It is the closest I have found to what we used to get. I do miss the BBQ from Tenn. Inn.

Hey, Kathy. We have been in St. Louis all week end and just returned. I sent you a card to your p.o. box. Hope you got it. Hope your birthday was special!

From Steve Dodd
Subject Re: You are tagged

Is this the ten things thing? OK:

1. I have a great wife.
2. I never thought I would live in Omaha, NE and don't know why I am here.
3. I like welding and wood-working, but I get paid for what is in my head.
4. I have three motorbikes: a Triumph Scrambler, a HD Sportster and a Whizzer.
5. I drive a 1992 Suzuki Sidekick but before that I had a 1992 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 5.9 liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, and I miss it.
6. I still want to be a cowboy when I grow up.
7. I have never thought of myself as short.
8. I am just funny enough to keep people from kicking my butt.
9. Our favorite place we have lived is Porters Lake, Nova Scotia
10. Our son and daughter can never be president of the United States: They were both born overseas.
11. (Bonus Points) Never, ever, under any circumstances give a penny to a chicken.

Steve Moody

Thanks for the BBQ tip Kathy, and glad your hubby is doing better. Hope you had a great birthday. Being one of the youngest in the class, having all my older classmates, (except Dr. Jeff) hit good ol' 29 one more time makes me feel quite proud of my tender years.

Steve Dodd, what happens when a chicken eats a penny? Something like a dog and a chocolate kiss? Hummm...

I tag Jimmy Speidel

Debra Hood-Woods

Okay Debbie . . . I'm finally done with school for the summer and am now able to respond to your tag. Please forgive me for repeating things I may have said in my profile. It's hard to come up with more random things when everything in my profile is pretty random. :)

1. I'm a special education teacher w/a masters degree in Reading.

2. I'm an avid reader of children's books and I love to write. I've thought many times about creating my own children's book, but can't seem to find the time due to all the paperwork involved with teaching special education. (Maybe after I retire)

3. I love my job and can't imagine doing anything else. Although I commute 10 hours per week . . . I live and teach in the best of both worlds.

4. I brake for garage sales. I love the treasures I always seem to find. Besides . . . I'm always looking for incentives for the enticement of my special needs students. We all love being rewarded for our efforts. On a teacher's salary . . . we find those rewards where we can. :)

5. Traveled to Paris with my sweetheart this past Christmas. I'd love to go back, but there is still so much I haven't seen right here in my own country. (Still hoping to post a few Paris pictures before the Reunion has come and gone).

6. Not able to attend the reunion, but love reading about all your very interesting lives.

7. Love living in Homedale, Idaho!!! Never thought I would ever make a statement like that. :) I moved out here kicking and screaming, but am absolutely loving the peace and quiet this small country town affords me.

8. Favorite T.V. series to watch: 24; The Seeker; & Lost. Although these are action packed, there's also continuous romance involved. I guess you can say that I am an action-packed romatic. :)

9. Enjoy spending time with our combined nine grandchildren . . . with number 10 due in November.

10. I have been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over half my life. Yes! I am a Mormom, who just happens to be African American! Wow! How about that for random. :) I could have never found anything that could have caused more happiness in my life than making that decision a little over 32 years ago . . . and NO we do not believe in Polygamy. :)

I would like to tag Joy Winters (Weber) and hope that she hasn't been tagged or doesn't mind being tagged again.

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

Debra, so glad you have time to get involved with us npw that school is out! I am envious that you are doing something that really makes a difference. If I had it to do all over again...
Is your weather hot? Joy has not been on the web site since February. Maybe one of the local girls can get in touch with her and remind her to get on. Gerceida and I are still hoping you can somehow make it to the reunion. Your random things are very interesting, too! I bet we have a lot of other yard sale lovers on here, too. Keep in touch!

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

Can't help but ask...what other animal show am I missing? (See poll.) 1 person voted other!

06/19/09 09:37 PM #235

Debbye Williams (Boyce)

Debbie,
On the animal show...Could it be Gentle Ben??? Or what about Mr. Ed??
Just a guess...I think I watched those when I was a kid...

06/19/09 09:54 PM #236

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

I never even thought about those. But Debbye, could anyone's favorite animal show from the past really be Mr. Ed? (lol!) Gentle Ben, I could MAYBE see.

06/20/09 05:35 AM #237

Debbye Williams (Boyce)

Well, probably not...But Mr. Ed is really hilarious now...LOL

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

I am thinking the 10 random things may have played out. What do you think about bucket lists being the next project?

06/20/09 07:21 AM #239

Debbye Williams (Boyce)

I love the bucket list idea...
But you kind of did that with what you want to do but haven't done yet...
You might consider favorites..
movie, book, vacation spot, etc...

I loved the 10 random things..it was fantastic..

06/20/09 07:59 AM #240

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

It's Saturday! What are we doing up so early? Wonder if anyone else has problems sleeping like we do?

06/20/09 08:33 AM #241

Teresa Rowell (O'Loughlin)

Yes, those of us you live on a farm have to get up and make hay while the sun shines so I have been up since 6:00.

I thought the 10 Random Things was great and really enjoyed it too. How do you come up with such neat ideas?

06/20/09 08:38 AM #242

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

Didn't you know how clever and creative I am? :)
There is a web site for administrators of these reunion sites and we all exchange ideas. We all help each other. I do occasionally have good ideas, but a lot I get from my "friends."

06/20/09 09:30 AM #243

Debbye Williams (Boyce)

Oh, Deb, I have been up and down all night with this darn shoulder...
But you know me...I don't sleep much...that is when I paint most of the time...
I guess that is when the creativity flows..haha...
I'm sure you will come up with something for us to have fun with you always do...

You are great...

06/20/09 09:40 AM #244

Renee Bruton (Young)

Bet I can beat that, I've been up since 4:30. I've been having trouble sleeping for the past 3 weeks and can't seem to sleep past 4:30. Makes for a long day but I find I am getting more done.
Renee

06/20/09 10:26 AM #245

Debbie Holland (Phillips)

Okay, I am not really sure I went to sleep at all. I was achy all over and took a pain pill and those things keep me awake rather than knock me out. I finally took a sleeping pill about 2:00 am. Do you think we will all be ready to go to sleep at 10 the night of the reunion??
Thanks for the kind words, Debbye. As I believe I have told you, I am very co-dependent and want to make the entire world happy. It is a tiring job :)

06/20/09 11:25 AM #246

Renee Bruton (Young)

Sandy, I am new at this face book and thought we had connected. Try again, I'll do better.
