I have 4 granddaughters and 1 great grandson and 1 great grandaughter

I was in Real Estate for awhile but everyone up here has a license so I decided to buy my first restaurant in 1982. It was "Christophers" in Indian River, Mi. I started a second one in 1986. in Mackinaw City. I sold them in 1994 and thought I was ready to retire but I was lost. I needed something to do so after one year I went to bakery school in Wisconsin and started Jan's Donut Shop and Luncheonette in Onaway, MI. I loved it! I opened a second one in Indian River again but I got pretty sick and sold them both after 7 years. Now I stay pretty much at home except when I go camping with my kids. Another job I had was breeding Scottish Terriers. I did that for 25 years.

I'm really sorry but I honestly don't remember too much about that time. I did okay academically but my attendance was very bad. I remember the Old Mill much better than I should. I quit school in the middle of the 12th. grade.

After Redford, I took a lot of differant classes in night school. I went to Real Estate school in 1972 and stayed in that for just 2 years. I went on to get my GED in 1984.

I lived on Bramell and went to T.Houghton in the 4th. grade. I went to Redford High till the 12th. grade .I got married and lived in Redford Twp. and worked at the Clock restaurants. In 1972, we moved up north to Topinabee. I lived there for 4 years and then got a divorce. I met my present husband in 1977 and we married in 1978. He has always lived on this farm and it was quite an adjustment for me and my girls but after awhile we really got to love it. We had horses and the girls joined 4-H. I miss those days. We raise beef cattle so we can't get away too often but when we can, we hook up the camper and take off. My husband was the Foreman for Cheboygan County Road for 32 years and is now retired.

My whole life has been spent in Michigan. I've never wanted to go anyplace else except now I think I'd like to go someplace warm in the winter. Just for 2 months or so.
