Andrea and I just returned from a long weekend in the Smokies. Saturday morning we circled around a heard of Elk and waited in the woods as they passed by within 30-ft and stopped to drink at the stream we were standing by. She now realizes how much larger elk are compared to deer.

Hi,
Grandma Barbara just returning from NYC after 2 weeks of new born baby time--Spencer Max--4lb. 14 oz. He was a big surprise, and decided to come into our world a little on the early side. He's doing great, as are his parents and grandparents.
We were just little kids, and our grandparents were so old--what happened? But really, this is sooooo much fun, much easier than raising our 3 daughters!

One more thing if I may share with you....
I use www.skype.com everyday to talk and see my brother right here on the wonderful world of the computer!
YES! I can talk to him without typing and I can actually see him too! It is totally awesome and it is totally safe too! If you have an old monitor without speakers you can get an inexpensive video cam from Walmarts for under 20 dollars too and it is easy to set up.. Go to www.skype.com and download it. Pick a name and plug in your video cam if you do not have camera built onto your computer and you can call anyone that has skype. Remember Hollis? She has a grand daughter in Germany now and she reads books to her right over the computer.. IT IS A great way to KEEP In TOUCH! Of course make sure you are dressed and anyone can hear you that is there so be careful! Smiles to ya everyone.. Enjoy! Cris

What I learned this year is that you never know what is around the corner so make sure you stay in touch with family and friends!!There may not be a next week for some of them.
I really liked the featured video.Perfect for Christmas Eve!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, all you northerners will be happy to know that we are freezing in Florida! It's been in the 30's at nite, and the 50's during the day. I know that's probably warm to you, but those of us who have no blood anymore are bundled up in layers. Anyone have an extra pair of Ugs?

01/07/10 06:36 PM #468

Carrie Czajkowski (Hogan)

50's sound great. It is barely in the 30's(more like the 20's) during the day. More snow on the way.
We were in Austin Tx for New Years Eve and it was freezing cold. Glad I had my winter coat, hat and gloves.
I'll be in Fla. the end of the month. Hope it warms up down there!!!

Just returned from Key West. Imagine sitting outside on Duval St, having lunch and it's 55 degrees. Our jackets are zipped up, sitting next to a heat lamp and idiots are walking by in tank tops and shorts. Even the pelicans were huddled up on the ground.

I'll be in Deerfield Beach mid Feb., I hope it will warm up in Fl. by then.

Hi Everyone-
You will start to see some changes to our website, adding EMHS Class members from 1969 and other Baby boomers from EMHS. I am slowly adding names from 1969 that have email addresses. After I enter all the names, they will be invited to join our website. We will also have a networking page added, so that we can network our businness's and also for our children and ourselves that are in need of jobs. Maybe groups can meet together in different parts of the US, like the one that happened at DisneyWorld. Watch for changes in the future.
Joanne

Florida's great now. No problems with weather. Come on down. I really think it's a good idea to keep in touch with as many classmates as we can. We are all turning 60 now, and maybe someone needs us. Just this message forum can really help at times. I know people read this, even though they may not log on. Please know we're here for you.
