I'm back. Came back on Tuesday. The only nice day was Friday. We went to Magic Kingdom and it was in the 70's. Nice day. No lines!!!The rest of the weekend was cool with lots of rain. But it was good to see my sister.
More snow on the way tonight into tomorrow!!

The weekend storm missed us but we are getting snow today! The wind is strong enough now to classify it as a blizzard! Guess the ground hogs were right!

We were suppose to get snow, but only got 5 flakes, it missed us. I sat here all day waiting. All the storms have been south. Sorry NY,NJ,VA,MD

Hello All From Snow Central Long Island , We got snow , No Global Warming in Nasau or Suffolk counties to report. It snowed all day Wednesday , JetBlue, the company I work for cancelled ALL flights as the conditions were so very poor and unsafe . It was a real good snow wet and heavy so no drifting however it made driving really awful. Kinda like the snowstorms of our childhood . "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life " Bruce

We had another 2 inches last night and it has been snowing all day but not really sticking!!
Joanne have a great trip and bring back some warmer weather.
Can spring be far behind pitchers and catchers reporting to training?

Sorry about all the bad weather back East. We're living here on Maui full time now and the weather has been spectacular as usual: 78 - 82 degrees with a light trade wind blowing. We stood on the beach yesterday and watched as the whales breached for about thirty minutes just 300 yards off shore! You should all get out of the bad weather and head down here!

I'm jealous!!
My husband and I took a walk at Jones Beach today. It was sunny and in the 40's with a strong wind!I was bundled up real good.
At least it wasn't snowing.

Gee it's snowing again!! We had terrible rain till 3:30 when it finally changed to snow. 6-12 inches is predicted!
Is anyone out there?? (or are you all hibernating?)No new messages in a while!!!!

Susan Baum (Schloss)

Yes, I'm here! We have had horrible weather lately--cold, pouring rain, wind. Now we have about 6 inches of snow. Will this never end?? Will we ever see spring? Meanwhile, I got a call yesterday from Joanne, and she was on the beach with palm trees and 70 degree weather!!! Can I beam up to Florida???

About 14 inches overnight and still flurrying/snowing.
We've had 3 major storms and some small ones in between. Every time the snow starts to go down we get another storm. They are already mentioning another storm for next week!! UGH!!!!!

Thank you all so much for your birthday wishes. Who would ever believe we are all turning 60? It's so crazy. We are now our grandparents ages! How did THAT happen? Yet when I look at every one's pictures and attended the Florida reunion, sure, we look older, but certainly NOT THAT old!!60 is the new 40? Or 30? Whatever--Keep communicating, keep having fun, and let's hope the next 10 years will be good for all. No Bad Days!!

Joanne Dickstein (Deutch)

At least we all are turning the same age. Happy Birthday. How did you celebrate. I can't decide to just ignore or have a party. My daughter wants me to come to NYC July 4th for my B'day but I'm not sure. I might want to just do the thing I do, Volunteer at Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival and have a drink as a special add-on. Who is celebrating and who is saying 60, not me, no way! Write back about your plans...

Joanne-how was Florida?
Sabra(now Barbara)- sorry I missed you birthday. Never did turn my computer on over the weekend. So belated birthday wishes!! Hope it was happy.
I don't turn 60 until Sept. and I haven't thought that far ahead!!!
The nice thing about snow this time of year is that it melts fast. The temp is in the 40's so the snow is going down quickly!!
Happy March!!

Happy Birthday Sabra(now Barbara). I didn't turn my computer on over the weekend either. My sister and brother-in-law took me out to brunch at their club for my 60th birthday. While we were sitting there we all remembered celebrating my 50th birthday. We couldn't believe it was 10 years ago. It seemed like just last year!!! Boy, time does go faster the older you get.

William- As a kid we all went to Dr. Haber on Elmont Road.Is that the same Habers?

Sabra (Now Barbara) Nalven (Gribin)

My best friend made me a 59and 1/2 birthday surprise birthday party this summer, and it was great. When I turned 60 last Sunday, my kids had a cake and gifts, and on Monday nite, my regular birthday group of friends and I went out together--nothing fancy, except for the beautiful gift.
For those of you who are not 60 yet--let me tell you--it is NOT the new 50. 50 was a great year--it was fun and freeing, and learning and understanding.
I find 60 to be a basic reality check. Not that there is no more fun and games, etc. but there is a new understanding of time and that funny Bucket List that others made seems to make a little more sense now.
I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer, but those AARP memberships that we threw away in the past might look good in another 5 years! The good news is--we're all doing this together, so Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!!!

03/04/10 08:58 AM #495

Carrie- i was wondering same thing...i remember Cliff and his siter JOan Haber and they didn't stay in Elmont forever if recall correctly.....these are the parents of Neil Haber apparently Neil was a year behind us....will let u know as we find out

hey Elmont
being in the senior care biz..i wud like to share with you that getting a "long-term health care" policy (at our soon-to-be-collective age of 60) is not a bad idea.....it allows you to stay in ur home, when u r older and need help and support...otherwise it is all cash or u have move to a fcility or have a great family etc....

Very cold, rainy, windy day!! Good thing it's not cold enough to snow or we would be having a real blizzard.
Heard about the bad weather in Florida. Hope everyone living there is okay!!
