Ellen-- I have one or two sitting on my desk from when Sue L visited.  She told me to scan them and send them to all.  Obviously, it's my lack of time or lack of computer skills that deterred me.  Congratulations on your retirement.  Enjoy your trip.  Come see my "kids" bcI won't be able to go anywhere.   It will be hard to find a babysitter for goats!  Nancy

WOW! Look what I started!

Nancy congrats on your kids and your sons graduation.

Ellen congrats on your retirement. I hope you enjoy it as much as us. Enjoy your trip. We have not been there.

Sabina I can't believe they canceled it. I was hoping you would be coming to NY and we could get together.

Busy working in my gardens. After a long winter it is so nice to be out digging in the dirt!

My sister Fran was here a few weeks ago and we discussed the LC reunion. She is still working on it. Still trying to find members. If you know anyone from any class in LC please let me know.

Carrie-  My cousin, Debbie Klingener, was in GLC a few years behind me.  I have talked to her about Fran's idea.

That is sad news,  as I was friends with Pat also. Infact, Pat got me an after school job at the Esso gas station on the corner of Linden Blvd and Elmont Rd. Muscle cars and music....... I will miss but not forget you Pat.

Peace,

-Ronnie-

Pat's passing is really shocking, awful news. Pat was a great guy. We shared the same birthday, same grade school classes, bought SCUBA gear together, drove to Hungry Hermans cutting out for lunches in his brand new 1968 GTO and had lots of good times.

He was driving my first car, a Triumph TR-3, on Dutch Broadway, and said "Let's see what this baby can do", stepped on the gas and the hood we forgot to latch flipped up, bounced off our heads, and wound up sailing about 20 feet in the air. We always had a fine laugh over that one.

We played Steve McQueen in "The Great Escape" all over a North Shore golf course on our motorcycles. We were the guys with the pea shooters that annoyed everybody in the darkened EMHS auditorium trying to listen to a classical concert. We guzzled a fifth of Gilbey's gin behind the elementary school in 1965, got so staggeringly drunk and sick afterward neither of us could ever look at Gin again.

He was voted "best dressed guy" in our 6th grade class. I am sure he's up in heaven and if they take a vote there, he'll again win the best dressed guy.

God bless him, a wonderful guy, who will be missed. My condolences to Eileen and family and all his good friends.

I am very sadden to hear of Pat's passing.  I will always remember our 6th grade class.  It was so much fun and I do recall that Pat and I danced a mean "Mashed Potatoes."  He was always a kind young man.  May he  rest in peace.

After college, my first job was a salesman at Syntex Laboratories. After joining the company, I found out that Pat was also in my region. We reported to the same manager. He covered LI and I covered Queens. He was always fun to be around and had a very successul career at Syntex for many years. It was a shock to hear this news. Rest in Peace, Pat

I first met Pat in 7th grade when we were in the orchestra class together.  He played the bass well and I played the cello horribly.  Pat was a gentle and sensitive young man and I have many fond memories of all the shenanigans we got into in that class. My thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.

One day after Angelo tells us about Pat my sister calls to tell me that Eddy Cornetta died as well. I guess it doesn't just rain it pours.

Ed was a real nice guy. He was self employed, did plumbing work, earned an honest living. I understand cancer took him, so his suffering is over.

We were on the freshman football team together, it was hard work, lots of fun, and we had an undefeated team to feel proud of. We were a great bunch of guys.

Rest in peace Ed, you will be well remembered.

So sad to hear about Pat. I hate to say how many of my passed friends I have on Facebook. I use to hear from Pat occasionaly, but it tapered off. I should have known something was wrong.

RIP Pat

I thought I'd pass this on.

Girl Scouts now has an alumnae website, alumnae.girlscouts.com, if anyone who was in GS would like to join.

Hi everyone,

Ellen how was your trip?

Nancy how are the kids doing?

11/01/14 04:13 PM #720

Ellen Deutsch (Riseman)

Hi Carrie - Trip is great - thanks for asking. We've been to Barcelona, then on to Morocco. Back to Madrid, and through southern Spain. We're in Granada now. A few more days in Spain and then on to Portugal. Traveling is fun, but at our age, a little more tiring than before!!!

I thought some of you might like to know that my good friend, Stuart Asher passed away suddenly on October 24th.

Stu was a great guy and a good friend.  No matter how long it would be between contact, it always felt like we had just spoken yesterday.   He will be sorely missed, at least by me.

He had no family left other than his wife Marlene.

Thanks for telling us this, Walt. I remember Stuart Asher from school, and even though I don't think I've seen or spoken with him since high school, I will always remember that he was a really nice person. Handsome, funny, kind. My condolences.
