Drat--too slow. I suppose time will wear away the score...

I did meet HoJo once after a concert in Ames. Short guy, but almost my height with the hair gel.

As for the quiz, no one is to blame, and things can only get better (for me).

By the way, PLEASE tell me you're copying these questions from some 80's trivia game. They can't possibly all still be in your head? OK, you're scaring me.

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

Dan - 8.5
Karry - 4
Michael - 3
Jeff A. - 2.5

Jeff, the internet is a wonderful thing...I can refresh my memory with just a few keystrokes. :)

Here's another lyric for everyone.

Time,
Time,
Time, see what's become of me

The Bangles, "Hazy Shade of Winter".

One more attempt at redeeming myself.

Angela Petraline

Ok, I'm late to the party and no one's here (story of my life)....try this.

"Something can change, and then you don't know".

no googling.

ooooooooooooh, I fail.

Its

"Something could change, and then you don't know"

Funny what we hear in our heads for 20 some years.......

Whoooo Hooooo Michael!

Dan - 8.5
Karry - 4
Michael - 4
Jeff A. - 2.5

Oh Lord life is surreal, I'm sitting here attempting to remember the lyrics that Angela posted and a commercial comes on with a Chips Ahoy Cookie singing "Do you think I'm sexy?" by Rod Stewart. It's scary that we are old enough to have songs we grew up with as both Muzak and commercials. I've got to think some more on those lyrics...it's going to drive me nuts!

In the meantime, here's another one to put in play...artist and song title needed!

"We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks."

How could anyone who ever went to a FDSH school dance avoid Meatloaf's "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights"

I've had two recurring nightmares since high school: a tornado ripping through our house and being an extra in a Meatloaf video.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart", Bonnie Tyler!

Just heard it the other day, gotta love XM Radio.

My memory loss is showing--how could I have mixed up those songs?

Ah, yes, they were both written by Jim Steinman. Ever wonder why Bonnie Tyler's hit song sounded like Meatloaf?

07/21/08 11:09 AM #101

Michael Hasty

It's because Bonnie Tyler and Meatloaf are really the same person.

Think about it...

Have YOU ever seen them together?

Dan Ervin

Mike
that's just wrong.

Kelly Breffle

Okay, you guys are cracking me up. I have to say I'm completely impressed with the trivia as well as the answers. I have to admit the only one I knew was the Bangles. I'll have to figure out Angie's... maybe if someone threw in a Duran Duran lyric I might be able to figure it out!! :) HA! But who knows... I swear the brain is going. Hope to see you guys in October!!!!

07/21/08 04:37 PM #104

Dan Ervin

Ok Kelly...

guess the song...

"Shake up the picture, the lizard mixture with your dance on the eventide..."

Michael Hasty

Please... "New Moon on Monday" by Duran Duran.

And the whole Tyler/Loaf thing being "wrong"- that's just what They want you to think. You're falling right into their evil plans for world domination.

I think they're in league with Starbucks.

Not to infringe on Carolyn's "official" trivia contest, but I had these songs in my head today (go for it, Kelly!):

"If friends can't dance, then they're no friends of mine"

"You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met you"

and finally, a little 80's pop philosophy:

"Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone"

Yeah, it's all coming back to me now (I want to mousse my hair and roll up my pant cuffs again...or not)

07/21/08 10:54 PM #107

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

Infringe away Jeff! I wanted a chance at these too and Ang's song is still eluding me. As for your's, pfft easy!

1. Safety Dance by Men Without Hats
2. Don't You Love Me by the Human League
3. Jack and Diane by John "Cougar" Mellencamp

:) Neener neener neener!

"Official" Score is now
Dan - 8.5
Karry - 4
Michael - 4
Jeff A. - 2.5
Angela - 1
Unofficially I have 3 :p

very true Mike -

Jeff - you've got to get a little more obscure to stump the Carolyn Meister!

oh...and I'M STILL AHEAD - :)~

07/22/08 10:49 AM #109

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

D'oh! Sorry Mike, I didn't get your score updated! You have pulled into second place.

Dan - 8.5
Michael - 5
Karry - 4
Jeff A. - 2.5
Angela - 1

Here's another fun lyric!

"The day they knocked down the pally
Part of my childhood died, just died."

Angela, is your's Twilight Zone by Golden Earring? That's all I can think of, but I don't know for sure.

07/22/08 10:56 AM #110

"Come Dancing", by The Kinks.

I'm beginning to get the sense I've been spending too much time plugged into my iPod.

07/22/08 11:17 AM #111

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

Great song though isn't it???? I'm still trying to figure out where to load the tape cassettes into the MP3 player my hubby gave me two Mother's Days ago...I'm technically challenged that way :p

Dan - 8.5
Michael - 6
Karry - 4
Jeff A. - 2.5
Angela - 1

I'm hoping this one isn't on ANYONE'S Ipod, or at least you won't admit it...

"Baby when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb"

07/22/08 11:36 AM #112

Dan Ervin

I'm not even going to admit that I know this one...

07/22/08 12:37 PM #113

Michael Hasty

Dan, at least SOMEBODY knows it, cause I'm totally clueless.

07/22/08 01:32 PM #114

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

heh heh heh...is it too soon for clues or do you want to be left in the dark Mike?

Dan, you should be ashamed to know this one. Turn in your 80's hair gel pronto!

07/22/08 01:43 PM #115

Dan Ervin

although I'm starting to get some Grey just like the 1/2 of the duo that sang this hit!

07/22/08 01:58 PM #116

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

No comments on any resemblance of mine to the other half of the duo please. :p
