"Knight Rider"

There's a shock. A David Hasselhoff show in Germany. Kinda like finding cold weather in Alaska!

07/30/08 01:19 PM #143

William Bill Hughett

Mike Hasty. Nice to see you haven't lost it one bit. Just tell me we are not going to be bringing up BJ and the bear or Miami Vice or do I dare say it... The Dukes of Hazzard.

07/30/08 01:41 PM #144

Dan Ervin

I think I still have my Miami Vice Huaraches in storage.
Along with my skinny ties (Including the leather one - I'm a perv)

07/30/08 02:35 PM #145

Michael Hasty

I was just trying to explain huaraches to one of the younger EMT's at work! I haven't seen a pair in a long time. I kinda miss mine!

I actually wore the "Miami Vice Tux" to prom my freshman year--no joke. I don't think I was nearly as tan as Don Johnson, though (nor did I have as much facial hair).

***Sigh***
Thongs are now flip flops and "thongs" are now, well I'm not going there. Changing times...

I'm so disappointed that no one has gotten the "so I've got that going for me" quote! Think back to the very early 80's...it's truly a classic.

Does anyone on here watch Psych? They had a 13th class reunion show a week or so ago and they were totally ripping off 80's moments. Class of 93 did not know anything about the Breakfast Club did they?

*Edited to say, I meant the class of '95, I STILL can't do math.

Dan Ervin

Thongs...
when we were in high school, they were called G-Strings and strippers were the only ones who wore them.

Now every teen girl in high school shows them over the top of her applebottom jeans.

Oh to be in high school today...

i actually wouldn't trade it for anything to be honest.

Jeff - I remember your Miami Vice Tux!!!

Geoff Miller - do you remember the wine bottle in the violin case?

Carolyn - CaddyShack. And they probably knew that The Breakfast Club had that red-headed chick in it and the song that goes "I say La...la la la la..."

Bill - Just good ol boys, never meanin no harm...

"Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? Cause of the leaks to the VC, he could end up MIA and then we'd all be put out in KP. "

Oh and by the way Dan, I'm NEVER inviting you to my high school. At least once a day I say to a student, "cover up honey, you're too pretty to do that."

Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam...

BAM!

Interestingly enough, as good as that line sounds on a pc screen, it doesn't seem to have the reaction I was expecting when used in an actual social situation, ie: last night...

07/31/08 01:23 PM #155

William Bill Hughett

Big with Tom Hanks...

How about The Truffle SHuffle.

07/31/08 01:40 PM #156

Dan Ervin

Nicely Played sir

I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Well done Bill!

One more movie quote, let me know if you all want to switch back to songs. :)

"Be sure and tell 'em Large Marge sent ya! Heh heh heh heh heh."

PEE WEE's Big Adventure

Jeffrey Allers

This movie quote came up in a conversation last night after bringing in the groceries:

"I just knew--the way you know about a good mellon."

08/02/08 04:25 PM #160

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

And Bill moves from 6th to 4th place with his knowledge of Large Marge!

Dan - 10.5
Michael - 6
Karry - 4
Bill - 3
Jeff A. - 2.5
Carolyn - 2.5 (or 5.5 unofficially?)
Angela - 1

Jeff, is it from When Harry Met Sally?

08/02/08 08:06 PM #161

Jeffrey Allers

Nice, Carolyn. Yep, it was from one of those interviews with older couples that are scattered around the movie.

Alright, since I'm hopelessly far from the lead, how about another song lyric?

We gotta install microwave ovens
Custom kitchen deliveries

"Money For Nothing", by Dire Straits. One of the BEST albums of the 80's, and in my top three albums ever!

08/03/08 03:03 PM #163

Jeffrey Allers

I agree Mike--definitely one of the few 80's albums to age well (along with U2 and the Police).

OK, here's a toughy:

P - A - R - T - Y
Let's turn up the music till our brains fry

08/03/08 11:45 PM #164

Carolyn Crumley (Kleen)

I love it when I guess correctly! Good job on the Dire Straits one too!

Dan - 10.5
Michael - 7
Karry - 4
Carolyn - 3.5 (or 6.5 unofficially?)
Bill - 3
Jeff A. - 2.5
Angela - 1

I'm at a loss on the P-A-R-T-Y one although it does remind me of Fishbone and "U-G-L-Y, you ain't got no alibi". If you EVER get a chance to see Fishbone in concert, DO NOT pass it up! They are incredible. Check them out on youtube though; it's almost like being there. :)

OK, I have to tell you, I had two FD moments this past weekend. Friday I was in the Ankeny Hy-Vee and ran into Doug Guddall and one of his sons. We had a good talk and realized we live on the same street (few blocks apart, but still). Saturday morning I was getting my hair cut and ran into Sandi Reel (class of '87). She's married to Matt Heidick and they've lived in Ankeny about 3 years. It was great seeing both Doug and Sandi. :)

***taps mic***
Is this thing on? Jeff, I think we need another clue on your lyric.

08/07/08 01:20 PM #166

William Bill Hughett

I agree with the Carolyn need a clue as they say.. Here's a movie qoute from our past. I designed the javalin to go with Lamar's limp wristed throwing style.
