ahhh...the leg hair...yes-I remember she died it blonde-so it was LONG blonde leg hair-we were all afraid to tell her to shave it-I think she may have thought that american girls didn't grow hair on their legs- well, I don't, anyway-my tribe of Irish people don't have hairy legs-I guess (legend has it) that back in the day, it would slow us down when we were looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. So centuries later, we are hairless-no gold, but hairless.
Ying Yang. A name I remember from hanging out with Suzi and Jodi. Did he come after I left? I don't remember that nickname being used in grade school. Crap - I'm really out of the loop here folks!!!
Robert he did come to high school after you... He did a lot of things that people would ask him to do so he could fit in. I remember one time he tried smoking and someone told him they had marijuana in them and he started trying to act like he was stoned, it was some funny stuff. I also remeber one time he was in Maggie's Pool hall and went into the bathroom and some how defecated on the walls. I know he tried really hard to fit in and it seemed like he was the type that would do anything for a really good friend.
In regards to the exchange student Jose Fin and Adrianna, they were both was a Rotary exchange students from Brazil. My dad is still a Rotary district chairperson for the exchange student program, so I'll ask him to get the contact info on them ASAP.
Well, due to scheduling conflicts I will not be able to attend the reunion. My wife is on a business trip and leaving all the kids with someone else right now...I don't think so. I do hope lots of pictures are taken and put into a form we all may enjoy. Peace!
It's been 20 or so years, we should be laughing at ourselves when it comes to hair(especially me),ying yang, and the little idiosyncrasies that made us who we are today. Hell, I get bashful when I think of the things I did back in the 80s, but they are pretty damn funny, in retrospect, now that I'm getting close to 40. Just a thought. :)
BTW, I have a house in the territory from the 16th through the 26th with plenty of room to spare, so if anyone needs a place to crash or would like to help "float the keg," you are more than welcome.
I had lunch with Paul awhile back. It was really an odd feeling being so far away from where we grew up and still ending up relatively close to each other.
Wow! I am so impressed that David Houy has all of his GPS class photos. I will have to dig through my dad's attic to try to find mine. I especially appreciate the 4th grade Mrs. Schonhoff class photo which contains the beginning of my bad hair years! Growing out an afro during my middle school years was just too much fun. Why my mom cut my hair I will never know (maybe she saw Car Wash).
Those are some nice pics, Dave. They are a good laugh at what we looked like over 30 years go when we were young and innocent. Can't wait to see everyone at the reunion.
Hello all, I just got thru looking at Dave's pictures, OH my I can't believe you still have them. It's been a long time since I've thought about school all the way back to 1988.
The reunion was a blast! It was so nice to reconnect with everyone. My only regret....I wish I could have made it to the picnic. One more day would have been nice.
I wish all of you well. Please know my door is always open if any of you are in the St. Louis area.
Barb, I just wanted to say-WONDERFUL PICTURES!! I have downloaded them on my computer! The reunion was a blast! I danced like was 17 again on Saturday and woke up on Sunday feeling like I was 57! Larry had no sympathy!
Oh Melissa I am so happy someone else felt the same way. I was wondering why my neck, back and legs hurt.
If anyone has pictures they can download them onto their profile link and I can copy them from there and place them onto the photo gallery link. The community photo posting isn't going to be ready for a awhile yet.
What a great time - It was so nice to see everyone again!
I just want to thank Laura, Tara, and anyone else who was responsible for organizing the reunion! It is obvious that a lot of time and energy was spent preparing for the event and on this website. It was a great time!
Also, did anyone one else read Tara's valentines from primary school? It was so fun to the shoe box that she decorated and to see the 70's v-day cards with the large, printed names.
my calves are still hurting-guess I thought jumping up and down non-stop was a good idea at the time. thanks again for putting together such a wonderful reunion-you guys did a great job-it was awesome seeing everyone-Everyone LOOKED GREAT!!!!!!
I think I was the only one who brought a film camera-but when I get the pics, I'll post them-
